Staff was friendly
No remote controll, hard bed, so noisy bar underneith had music on until 3am and drunks in the hall. Cheap stay for just passing through single person
Place did not look nice and was not interested in sleeping in a slum hotel
Worst Service Ever Dirty Loud
+ friendly employee
- rooms - prices - noisy
No air conditioning, no remote, dirty floors, holes in ceiling, bathroom uninviting.
Noisy, hard to locate hotel, dirty, and no service at all
Location was ideal but I was on a bike. I think parking would be an issue if I was in a regular vehicle. Price was low. Had microwave and fridge
AC didn't work. Door to hallway wouldn't shut proper. Tv malfunctioned. Noise from the band. Toilet not installed right(was like sitting on a rocking chair). Worst steak sandwich I've ever had
The bar was nice
There wasn't a dead bolt for extra security, no peep hole in the door, no air conditioning, no remote for the tv, no Kleenex, no plastic drinking cups. The carpets were extremely stained. The room served it's purpose and I guess you get what you pay for. Will not stay there again.
The food was incredible for a little hole in the wall dive joint.
No AC, when we arrived it took forever to check in. Room was hot and stuffy, right above the bar that had a live band playing till 2am.
Everything! The room was located just on a club so after 10:00 pm you can't sleep, the only window opened on a bar patio where clients looked us through.... Bad food smell, AC, toilet, water tap all broken, dirty, ugly, bugs in the bed so to resume, we slept in the car!!! The worst place ever!
Room was clean but dated. New management trying to work with a bad situation and make it better. Talked with man who really wants to make it work. What needs to be done: door locks fixed, a/c installed, screens put on windows.
On arrival, no one at desk (never saw anyone at "front desk", where there were brochures); booked in by bartender at bar/grill on first floor--couldn't hear what she was saying, live music was so loud. Couldn't accept our American credit card; needed cash. No a/c, no fan, no screen on single window, which we had to leave open to keep it cool. Hubby slept fine; wife couldn't sleep because of bar noise. Small fridge ok, no microwave, TV but worked--no remote, no wi-fi. Booked 2 nights; took everything with us because we didn't feel safe--lock on main door didn't work. When returned, someone else in our room because they thought we left, but they quickly gave us second room. This room had a microwave & small fridge, but fridge didn't work. TV worked manually. Sleep was better on second night--quieter live entertainment & clientele cleared the streets after 2:30 PM closing.
The room itself was clean. The location by the river was beautiful. The staff member that greeted me was polite.
The hotel has a bar below the rooms that has very loud music. As it was hot outside and inside the room, due to no air conditioning, we had to leave the window open. Bar patrons were on the patio below speaking loudly as well. The hallway carpet is from the days of smokers and needs to be replaced due to smell and wear.
nothing.it was a scum place.amazing that it has not been shut down
Dirty. Smelly horrible hotel. Bar below plays loud music. Do not even think of staying here
The was no business called big bend. There was a bar/club with a sign that said hotel above. That was what was at the listed address. When we arrived at 1am in the morning there was 40-50ish people outside the bar which was right below the hotel. There was bouncers at the door and the whole front entrance to the hotel was extremely uninviting. We ended up decidi.g to stay else where before ever actually going in because of our first impression.i would take this hotel off the website.
Nothing good to say about this place. Filthy and stinky and loud music till 2am. Never come here again even out of desperation.
Free Wi-Fi and in a great location. Free parking as well
The hotel was stinky and dirty. It was full of residents rather than guests
Only the location.
The bath tub was so slippery and we almost fell so many times. Inside of the toilet was so dirty with black dirt. The room was extremely hot without air conditioner. There was not mosquito net at the window and so many mosquitos came in when the window was open. We could not sleep at all. We will never come back.
This place was such a dive. Locks on doors did not work shades were broken and you could see in. Beds looked like someone died on them. I had to ask for money back because I could not sleep there.
The only redeeming factor is the beer shop / liquor store.
There is so much wrong with this hotel it's license should be revoked. 1) There is bar dancing downstairs, so ear plugs are need to sleep. Even noise isolation between rooms is non-existent. If the loud music from the bar doesn't keep you awake, the drunk visitors will urinate against your car and make a lot of noise. 2) There way too much neglected maintenance: The ceiling panels came down, the toilet seat was loose, the carpet has some weird stains, the toilet roll barely stayed in place. 3) The wifi doesn't reach your room, or is at pre-dialup speeds. 4) We stayed for 2 nights, but our beds weren't made after the first night, neither were fresh towels provided or the trash emptied. 5) There was a tv on the room, but there was no remote. 6) The refridgerator didn't close properly. A chair had to be used to keep it closed and to enable it to cool the contents. 7) Although it is called the Big Bend Hotel, the name is not on the building, making it very hard too find. 8) It mentions airconditioning, but apparently not in our room. And there were no mosquito screens for the windows so in the morning we scratched ourselves to death.
The staff was very friendly
Don't sleep there. We were traveling from Calgary to Vancounver and stopped on the way to have an early start the next day and a few hours less. What a mistake, as we didn't get any sleep at all. The place was stuffy and hot with no way to air the room other then the window that cracked a bit open. The rooms are above a bar and the staff and bikers hang outside right under the window until 4am. Also the train is right there so expect no sleep at all.
There were 2 ice packs In freezer
The room was about 40 degrees, rooms are on top of a bar the pounds music tell 2:30 am you can feel the bass . And the strong smell of Lysol was horrible I had a headache for 2 days after. It is also a place were prostitutes do there buisness. Fen terrible. If you open window for breeze terrible smell. No toilet paper in bathroom.
This is not a hotel but rather a ghetto-like number of rooms upstairs of a liquor store and a bar. There was no outdoor sign so we had to asked around; the liquor store was the lobby, the sales clerk doubled as the receptionist who was more interested in ringing up liquor sales than attending to guests. We arrived almost 5:00 P.M. way past the 3:00 check-in time, room was not ready (and would not be ready for another hour), the clerk did not want to be bothered to ask the person cleaning the rooms how soon he would be done; the man who seemed to be manager/bar keeper kept saying the morning guests checked out very late hence the rooms not ready. When our room supposed to be ready we asked to look into it first; we would not stay in the room even if our lives depended on it - filthy, tiny, no air (you have to keep open the small window facing the main road. By the way, a narrow flight of stairs led to the second floor where the rooms are, a filthy small table and chair on the landing served as lobby, the hallway filthy and smelly. We cancelled and drove as fast as we could away from the hotel and the town. Stay at your own risk.
This place is right above a bar that plays loud live music until 2am. Unless you plan to party all night, don't come here!
