We stay at the Bow View every year. A nice clean simple hotel with good amenities, great staff at a great location and nice views.
Can't think of anything.
Location was great, very clean, close to downtown. Able to use pool and steam room from next door hotel.
the location was awesome!!
I thought it was silly to pay for a hotel and have to pay for wifi.
The staff handled our complaints swiftly and with a smile. What was advertised was not completely truthful.
We didn't stay one night there! The place looked rather run down. When one needs to go outside to the next building (same ownership) in the cold weather after pool and sauna activities -that was the last straw. We asked to be transferred to their other facility (at a higher rate). We were lucky that (quiet/handsomely designed) rooms were still available.
We really enjoyed staying at the Bow Valley Lodge. A couple blocks from the main street in Banff. Room was quite large - comfortable king size bed, couch, good bathroom, large windows, very quiet so got a good sleep. Front desk was very effiecient and answered all our questions. Parked underground at affiliated hotel across the alley so no scraping windows the next morning. WILL stay there again next time we're in Banff
Nothing, very economical and nice place to stay away from the hub bub of main street.
Really liked the location, the staff was polite, the rooms were clean, the whole place seemed clean really. The price was reasonable for Banff, even cheaper than the Y, which we appreciated as we were traveling on business.
I thought it was a little cheesy not offering free wifi, it's considered pretty standard service now everywhere you go, coffee shops etc. The beds were quite uncomfortable, the first room the beds felt like they had cardboard on them, the second room they were a little better .
Quiet inn Good beds Convenient location
Limited parking. Some facilities next door Paid wi-fi
The hotel was superbly dated and smelled of smoke all throughout the lobby. Some smokers moved in next door on our second night and the smell traveled through the rooms. For a few dollars more, there are much better alternatives throughout Banff.
View from window of river
Bed was pretty hard. Had to go outside through parking lot to get to pool.
I was travelling with my sister and the location is awesome! 3 blocks to the heart of downtown Banff. 10 steps to the Bow River nature walk which makes you feel you are in the wilderness. Also Chris, who is a staff member, was always a great help and always friendly. If you need current wallpaper, don't book here. But if you want a comfortable stay, in a hotel that has friendly staff, in an a perfect location, and good value, then this is the place for you!
We didn't like that we had to leave!! Honestly I have nothing bad to say about our stay and would stay again in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact, my sister is booking again for Christmas.
The use of the facilities in the adjoining hotel especially the use of the very nice indoor swimming area
The rooms are not very soundproof as you can often hear conversations in the adjacent rooms
Parking slot is a bit less as when I come back late, difficult to find a better slot for my large SUV.
Excellent location along bow river, easy walking distance to anywhere in the town of Banff. Not a luxurious property, but quaint and comfortable, and a good value for money spent. Will be back!
No front desk staff at checkout at 5:30 am.
Location is perfect and ataff were friendly.
The Location and how close it was to main street
I Think I was over charged for the room
The lodge is beside the Bow River which I could see from my room. Very peaceful.
Did not like that there was no free wifi in the room or at the lodge.
The price was very good. we got deal on sale. The sister hotel, Bow Lodge is very close and we used their facilities without extra cost. we used the sister hotel's safety deposit box at no charge. Bow view was very close to all activities with good parking on site. we really liked it.
Room and facilities kept very clean, beds very comfortable, bathroom good. Storage okay. Fridge with table and chairs meant it was possible to have a take out meal or prepare snacks. Great location but may well be worth the extra for a balcony.
Not much to dislike but was the second most expensive (out of 9) hotel we stayed in, the most expensive included an excellent breakfast.
Hotel has gorgeous views from the balcony! Great location just on edge of town, about a 3 min walk to the main drag.
Beds are little to hard for our comfort.
Swimming pool but it was at different facility.
The room was cold. I could not adjust the heat. The thermostat was broken.
the hotel is just right behind the bow river and we enjoy the nice view in the morning when walking along the bow river. The staffs there are all kind and helpful. We forgot the shut down the car light and can not start the car in the next morning but the staff bring his car and use cable to refill the power for us. The hotel is also not far away from the town center. 5 minutes walk to maple leaf :)
The facilities seems to be old and the sound is not so quiet. Room is not so big. I think this lodge will satisfy the customer who wants to stay only for 1 night.
This is our second time staying here. It is a no frills hotel but that is okay because the rooms were clean, comfortable and all we needed for our one night in town. The price was very good and the location on the river and close to down town was excellent.
