Bras d'Or Lakes Inn  

The owners were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The Inn was comfortable and clean with beautiful furnishings. We would definitely stay with them again whenever we're back in Cape Breton!

More like a motel with the facilities

We loved this hotel! Everyone was friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean. The bathrooms were new and nicely appointed. The Dinning room was nice and the food very good. We would absolutely go back.

Nothing was bad

It was a lovely Inn right on the lake, adjacent to the canal and a short walk by the canal to the ocean. We saw people fishing for mackerel and the RCMP ship docks right there in the canal along with a variety of local fishing boats. Beautiful location and great food.

Wifi did not work in room,pricey for the region,charges a lot for a 2 pounds dog,that do not make any noise,not like the machines of the restaurant of the hotel,the person at the reception wasnot friendly at all

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. When we arrived, the room looked clean. However the bed and the pillows were so uncomfortable that we could not sleep at all. The matress was uneven and the springs where poking out. The pillows were uneven as well and the filling was clumped together. The next morning, before heading out, I mentioned this to the lady at the front desk and she said that she is going to look into it and will change our room.therefore I packed everything before leaving. When we arrived at night the manager was there and when I told her about our concern she just shrug her shoulders and told us that since we were not there and our stuff was not packed!!!! she could not change the room (I bet that she did not even check the room) When I told her that our stuff was packed she shrug her shoulders again and started doing something on her ipad!! At some point she even told us that if we are not happy, we can leave (it was 10pm at night!) We were more unhappy about her attitude and behavior rather than anything. We travel extensively and issues with the room happens but I have never came across a hotel manager who is that rude and behaves in a way that she does not care at all.

Our room was clean and comfortable.

When we arrived our "pre-booked" reservations were not honored as booked. We were left without one room on our second and third booked nights. Management told us that it was an in-house mistake and did find a room for the second night but not the third night as "reserved". Fortunately we were able to call ahead to our next stop and they were able to accommodate us and extra night.

The restaurant was terrific. Service was very personalized. Breakfast was also excellent; very good value. Great service from front desk staff as well as in the restaurant.

We had a view of the lake obstructed by power lines that were literally a foot from our window.

- location is superb - two real chefs, one evening, one morning (glorious for a vegan) - clean as a whistle

- the room was strictly air conditioned and we couldn't open the window... a shame in that location

Friendly atmosphere, nice room, fantastic meals - the best turkey dinner ever, and the desert was to die for. Jean Pierre fixed us crepes for breakfast the next morning - they were also fantastic. I would definitely stay there again if I get back to Novia Scotia.

Very friendly staff and quiet location in nice nature. Local music after dinner!

the facility was excellent. likewise our dinner & breakfast were first class but we knew they would be. We had experience here in Kitchener-Waterloo when the proprietors ran a fine dining restaurant before moving to St. Peter's.

The location is convenient to both Bras d'Or Lake and the Atlantic Ocean. There are some walking trails in the area. The Inn is clean.

The Innkeepers are really happy with their restaurant, but I found it pedestrian; not there's many choices in the area. The pictures of the rooms were one reason I booked the room, but the rooms were more dated than the pictures indicated. For the price, I was expecting more style and comfort, but the room is certainly clean, and I would have been happier at a lower price.

The restaurant at this Inn is excellent. The wait staff are also superb. Even if you opt not to stay at this location, you should eat dinner here.

The rooms are smaller than most hotels, but they were clean and neat, so overall this was not a problem.

It was very quaint and laid back. The food and service was great.

It was a bit noisy after mid-night - people talking in the lounge area

The waterfront location was nice and the food in the dining room was very good. We also had a great time at the Ceilidh which took place in the basement.
