Vicinity to Downtown
Neighborhood has lot of addicts and homeless people surrounding
Old stinky overpriced room
Has character and clean. Food selection and lounge is fine. This is a 100 year old hotel but maintained.
No WI-FI in rooms, had to use lobby. Beds are too large for the room sizes is some cases.
The staff were friendly. The pub was good.
Neighborhood was shady.
Very friendly and courteous staff. Great breakfast included.
The area surrounding the hotel had aa lot ofbeggars but they did not worry you.
Courtesy, of the entire team at the front desk was superb including guidance to seniors like us, patience perseverance politeness were seen by us keep it up, in fact the breakfast on =the house was nice and plenty.
Though the management was very much interested to provide us the max comfort, the re was space constraint n we felt the room size was not adequate for a couple, it was quite sufficient for singles, that was our opinion. otherwise every thing was o.k.
Staff were great. The restaurant/pub and entertainment was great. Didn't expect the included breakfast in the morning.
The location was fairly central but you need to be prepared for the number of homeless people on the street in the immediate area. It didn't worry me, but it may worry some people. I like to experience the real city not just the tourist areas.
Vintage hotel, very clean, room cleaned everyday, staff very helpful. Neighborhood is poor, but short bus ride from downtown and tourist attractions. I would stay again.
The Budget Inn is, as its name suggests, a budget Inn & with that in mind the budget conscious traveller gets a good deal.
Free breakfast Secure baggage deposit the day of checkout Staff really kind Free bike rent Free umbrellas
Terrible neighbourhood Really small rooms Small bathroom
In the middle of homeless people living just around the corner. My family were afraid to go outside in the evening, but it was worse to stay in a room with no view, air-conditioning, furniture to sit, etc. This hotel should be completely renovated...!!!
The breakfast include.
The streets is unsafety, DO NOT GO WITH YOUR KIDS! The room extremely small, old, dirty, window dangerous for kids, horrible view (a wall). Parking and taxes are not include and you need to pay for more than you think.
Charged my card for a night I wasn't there, area of town is run with junkies, one elevator that was very slow, the service at the pub was crap.
Very helpful and professional personnel
East Hastings Street = a nice snapshot of prostitutes, drug addicts, homeless people. Rather a sociological survey. Of course, there is no need to worry.
Very hot with no air-con in room, dirty and torn linens, TV not clear, dripping water/liquid from ceiling to my wife's head in the reception hall area. I sat in a sofa with urine smell and it even wetted my jean, lots of homeless people close by.
breakfast, professional and friendly staff, hospitality, great pub and the self made beer, daily roomservice
location needs getting used to. To avoid the zombies, take a taxi (10dollars) or walk the parallel way through chinatown to get to vc downtown.
location to cruise dock
cost staff transportation
to many homeless people loitering outside you have to go downstairs for internet
Location Great for buses across town Pats Bar Friendly staff
Prostitutes on corner but they ignore you if you them! A bit of a poor neighbourhood but not a problem for us
It was clean and the service was attentive. The pub/restaurant was cool and a great value. The whole place was no frills but very functional.
The neighborhood is pretty sketchy. It was fine when we took cabs to and from and the hotels patrons and staff were fine. Definitely do not make the mistake of walking to your destination. The surrounding area is full of homeless people and drug addicts. We had no problems but it was not a nice area to walk in.
The price and fact I wouldn't be in a hostel after a 28h transit from Australia.
The room wasn't to bad but I think next time I'll spend. A little more money to stay in a place that's a bit cleaner with newer bathrooms etc. But for what I was after it served quite fair
The staff were super friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast a nice surprise. Enjoyed the music and food at the next door pub. Very clean for a hotel with lots of history and charm. The price was right for my budget.
nothing. would stay again.
Their restaurant, music, beer and food.
Location, lots of "out of business" stores, slum part of town.
Value for money. Attached Pub where food, beer and service was excellent and gave 20% off for hotel guests. Free Wifi. Direct route for bus to Downtown, easy transfer to Airport, walking distance to Gas town and Canada Place. Elevator. No noise from the Pub on the Main floor
Very small room. We knew the location was in an area with a lot of homeless people who slept on the street or nearby park and who might make some noise before we booked. We ate at the Pub so didn't go out at night but this suited us just fine, we had a great time there.
Customer service was excellent.
