The room that we stayed for a night was so hilarious!!! My friend and i were just laughing the whole night.. We had a very small room with a very small bathroom! What so funny is the door of the bathroom is like the door of a closet.. And there was a sink at the bottom side of the bed.. The room is like a stock room that they renovated to become one of the hotel's room...
You get what you pay for with this hotel. The cost is good and has everything you need however it is basic
The street the hotel is located on is very uncomfortable. Lots of homeless, drug takers, prostitutes etc. Going over one street and this disappears however you have to walk on this street at some point which can be uncomfortable late at night. The hotel is basic but the price is fair for what you get
Very friendly staff. Excellent shows.
Staff was really helpfull and friendly. Overall dissatisfaction has nothing to do with the staff since they do their best.
- Everything includong paint on the walls was so old! - Heating didn't work in our room, but staff gave us a portable heater. - Usually hotels have exceptionally awesome beds. Here beds are not even OK. There were no bugs or mold, but they were soo uncomfortable and old. - Shower was hot and didn't show any signs of malfunction, but it was kinda kreepy to use it because it was... Improvised? Shower in my room consisted of a bath tub, a bunch if copper tubes, some plastic clips and a curtain. Looks sketchy, though works good. - Wifi was there but was slow as modem connection from 90s. - Parking is in a murky corner of E Hastings - the most dangerous street in the whole city. There were three homeless guys in the parking lot, pretty aggressively asking for change and knowing what car is yours. And hotel charges 8$ for parking!!! - I could totally hear what's going out outside if my room. Windows are thin and not soundproof in any kind. I mean, if you go to Vancouver to one or two nights - DON'T stay here. Place is not terrible, but definitely doesn't cost the money they're asking.
Reception staff very helpful. Especially Indian guy. Very good service. Will be staying there again next time.
The staff were all so friendly even the cleaners, they helped us out with everything. The room was large and very clean. The location was only a short walk to Gas town and city centre. Also a bus stip right outside.
The location isnt in the best area as there was many homeless around, however they did not bother us but late at night we did catch a taxi just to be sure and its only about a $10 taxi so if you have a group it works out cheaper then the bus anyway!
Good price. Very nice stuff. We enjoyed the pub in same building, good meal and price also they gave us 20% off because we are stay in that hotel. very close to down town.
street is fool of homeless, drunk and drug people( If you are couple, I am not suggest you this place.
The staff were nice and helpful providing advice and a map of the city.
The hotel is located in a very poor part of town where there are hundreds of homeless people on the streets. It was very uncomfortable and scary arriving here at night. The poor had a malfunctioning boiler making loud noises all night and it wasn't possible to turn down the heating (so it was super hot the whole night). The bed sheets had holes in them and the shower looked mouldy.
Excellent staff Clean Good food and drinks in pub on ground floor
Wifi wasn't available in my room; only in the lobby.
- Staff were really helpful and supportive - the area was really quiet - the facilities was really quiet - since the hotel building is one of the oldest buildings in Vancouver, there were lots of history to learn - interesting bathroom
- the area was a little bit sketchy
Price, close to downtown, pub.
In a big city like Vancouver, I like to be close to walking trails, transportation, restaurants and shopping. Patricia was right in the middle of all this for a very decent price! The Pub adjacent to this hotel, offering a 20% discount to the guests of the hotel, was my preferred place. For some travellers who have in the past mentioned the presence of some homeless in the vicinity, I can assure that they are nice and quiet people. Next time I go back to Vancouver – and I will – Patricia will be my place to stay. It is a charming 100 year-old building, totally renovated not long ago, right next to Gastown and the Chinatown. Only 2 days/3 nights was not enough (it was just an extended transit).
Only cheap... But I found out the other hotel price is also cheap and clean near by downtown in vancouver. Im not a choosy person.
I didn't expect about hotel's facility. But that's not right. too stincky...and too narrow bath room. and when people walk aisle, can hear the step sound. omg....The front desk said the hotle was made 100 years ago.anyway so terrible
A friendly family run hotel with reasonable food at Pat's with entertainment thrown in.
The windows were dirty and not double glazed so a little bit noisy
Very sweet and accommodating staff, excellent adjoining pub with great music (and discount for travelers!), clean and nice room (small but not unnecessarily so), tv, wifi in the rooms, our room was on the top floor and had a gorgeous view of downtown
yeah, the location was around a lot of homeless camps, but have some compassion? just people trying to survive in pretty terrible and sad life conditions. I walked through the area, a 19 yo girl, and was never spoken to or harassed. If you can only feel contempt for or fear of the mentally ill (which many of the homeless in the area clearly are) then you should probably re-evaluate more than just your hotel choice. that being said, the area outside was pretty dirty and there were people yelling in the street at night but it quieted down. the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors, bring ear plugs to sleep
The staff there are very friendly and helpful, I could not say enough good things about them. It gives off an old school vibe
Not the best area if you scare easily lol.
The localization is excellent.
Homeless area. Even though seems not safe, they don't do anything!
great price, good hotel and great staff
right on the edge of the zoo
THE PUB WAS AWESOME, such good value for money Pretty clean Good staff
In a very bad area, couldn't walk home at night
Good value. Walking distance to Greyhound,
Lack of nearby restaurants etc.
the room is very clean
We didn't get any breakfast
Good for budget
- Old facilities - Room is too small for couple - Located on Hasting Street, an unsafe area with lots of homeless and strange people
It was good value for money, the room was clean and the staff were so helpful
I didn't like the location. As a young solo traveller I didn't feel comfortable in the area by myself at night.
Good price. Plenty towels.
Very bad smell on the room (like stinky feet or wet clothes never dried ). When we asked to be changed they said it was going to be charged 20$ in addition. Inadmissible. After 3 hours on plenty opened window it was bearable, but the smell came back on closed windows. Have to get up in the middle of the night to open the window. The receptionist didnt explain us about breakfast at our arrival. I tried to call the reception on the morning to know the hours limit of breakfast but didnt make work the phone. No information about breakfast on our room. Of course it was too late when we arrive at the restaurant.
