Staff, Location, balcony. I'm of average height and my feet were off the bed, which was noisy and uncomfortable, even for a twin. Tiny room #229, for $150 a night. Looked like a room for $65. Floor needs work too. Perhaps the third floor with what looks like a terrasse outside the rooms is "fabulous" but my experience was not. Are they paying you for this kind of recommendation? I chose this place over the Embassy (which posted a lower rate) where I've stayed before and it was a much better room.

We thought the Byward Blue Inn was great. One got their money's worth there with the little kitchenette, the beautiful linens on the bed, the cute little balcony and especially the tea and goodies served in the afternoon. We thought the place had "character" and would definetly book their again if we come to Ottawa for business or pleasure. Also, breakfast comes with the room and unfortunately we missed it, but that is also a plus!!! Good stuff! Liked everything.

Location of this Inn is excellent. Out the door and down the road, you are amongst it! Restaurants galore. Right in By Ward Market. Quiet when you return for the evening. Breakfast good. Very hard pillows but bed great. Need to upgrade pillows.

The location was great. It was in the middle of the Byward market in the centre of hundreds of restaurants and within walking distance of so many museums, churches, the Redeau Canal and the Parliment buildings. The "continental" breakfast included in the hotel price was great. Breakfast included hot and cold cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea, toast, pastries bacon or ham, home fries, eggs, cheese, lettuce & tomato every morning. Afternoon tea was a nice way to relax for a bit and have a snack to tie you over to dinner. Another thing I though was a nice touch was a coat rack at the front door full of umbrellas for the guests to use, and one day boy did we have to use them. The only thing I would suggest as an addition would be a safe in the room.

-location was perfect for walking to attractions, restaurants and bars -helpfull staff -free wi-fi -parking -leftover bars of soap in the bathroom sink and tub when we checked in made me question cleanliness of room -chairs on balcony very uncomfortable and need replacing -having the vending and ice machines machines in the dark basement garage is ridiculous, put them in the lobby area, there is room for at least the ice machine.

Close to downtown & lots of things for a tourists: food, site seeing in the capital of Canada. Close to the Ottawa marathon race start. The hotel was great. Just some of the big city people in the shadows you have to watch out for.

This hotel is perfectly situated for a visit to a wonderful neighbourhood. Walking distance to so many sites and a great street/evening life. It was clean with everything we needed. The staff were very friendly, we felt very welcome. Thank you for the hospitality. We struggled with the bed. Both of us woke very sore. We left a day early as we could not make it one more night.

The staff were very helpful and very eager to help us find our destinations. We absolutely loved the balcony to sit with a glass or wine or cup of tea in our down times. Breakfast was good. I would have like to see bananas in the morning because I usually had cereal and bananas are my favorite fruit for it. Small complaint!!

Very eagaer gal at the breakfast room. She was quick to put away dishes, instead of the guest doing so. Location great, beside Byward Market and other sights. We left our car in the garage the entire stay and walked to many of the sights. elevator was out of commission for the day. Parking underground is VERY tight. A challenge to park. And we had to BACK OUT up the ramp and onto the street.

Location location-super- its within an easy walk of Shopping Parliament, Museum etc Parking -secure & reasonable Afternoon tea /coffee - a great addition Cleanliness Helpful staff Very little Only minor issue is that rooms are a little small but location & price more than compensates for that.
