First and foremost, the location of this property was excellent! It is indeed steps from the ByWard Market area, consisting of numerous bars, restaurants (with patios), stores, etc. As well, Parliament Hill is approximately a 12 to 15 minute walk, depending on how fast you walk. It was a bonus having a fridge, microwave and dishware in the room! We were extremely happy with the staff, cleanliness of the room and overall service during our 3 night stay. Subject to other reviews about the air con issue, yes, it was the older window model, however, it sure cranked out the cold air pretty good! Personally, the dull tone of the unit did not keep us awake and we slept well! The complimentary breakfast was great...no complaints!! I even splurged on the hot breakfast during our last morning (bacon, eggs, home fries) for an extra $5.00...delicious and well worth it! Overall, yes the property is certainly not brand spanking new, but it was definitely clean, well maintained and possessed a charm often not found in newer hotels. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others who are visiting the Ottawa area! The only negative experience we had was when on one of the days, cleaning staff had not replaced the face cloths after cleaning the room...no problem, we ended up using the hand towel as a face cloth, with the logic that we would get new face cloths the following day. The next day, although we did get new face cloths, the original hand towel (which was understandably damp and left in the tub as a sign to have it changed) was actually put back on the hand towel rack...we know this because it was still very damp. Not sure why this was done...

Courteous and attentive staff and proximity to the ByWard Market shops and restaurants. The continental breakfast which was included was on the cheap side which alters the potentially prettier side of this facility

First of all, the location is the best there is.Next to ByWard market and its restaurants, and parliament hill is on a 15 min walk. The reviews on this booking site described the hotel as 'run down',but it ain't that bad.Ok,the bathroom is a bit outdated, but it is very clean and spacious (the same for the room). The hotel is in a quite street and no noise from other rooms. This is a great value for your money!!Breakfast is good as well:toast, muffin, yogurt, juice, cereal and for an extra $5 you get bacon, eggs, potatoes, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes.Up to you to decide. The hotel is great. To our surprise, every room has a balcony.Only half of the rooms have the great view on the market and parliament hill. The website let you believe that you pay extra for a balcony, but in fact you are paying for the nice view since every room has outside space.

Location is excellent for city visit. Room adequate with a comfortable bed but we tripped the breaker twice when running tv and hair dryer simultaneously. A/c was window mount and noisy.Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

It is a perfect quiet little Inn with a convenient location close to everything in downtown Ottawa, indoor parking, and lovely breakfast included. The rooms were perfect: clean and well equipped with a kitchenette.

very clean room. not modern by any stretch, but clean and well located. price is very very expensive for the age and amenities of the hotel. but shockingly this is not individual to this hotel. all of ottawa seems to suffer from the same disproportionate pricing... sorry... all of canada!

the rooms are very nice and location is great The breakfast is very small. Only have cornflakes, bread, croissants, yogurt and drinks. Breakfast is until 10, when we came at 9 all the croissants were already gone. If you want something more filling, extra $5 for hot breakfast.

staff were friendly and helpful and the location was great. I was so disappointed - not what i expected at all. The furnishings and decor are very old and tired. The room was devoid of any character - just bland. It was pretty clean but again the bathroom was very old and tired.

“We think the location is absolutely great for the things we like to do in Ottawa.(Dining, visiting historical and cultural sites and walking).
