I couldn't find the hotel.
I liked: there are Wi-Fi, kitchen, public telephone and a room with a TV
- The sir that works there (maybe the owner of the hostel) all the time controlled me.. I could not talk to my mother by Skype because he said I was loud, I was taking a shower and he knocked the door of the washroom; - the Wi-Fi doesn't work at the guests rooms, only at a specific room; - the washrooms smells urine; - the bunk beds are hard and made noise every time I moved in it; - there isn't breakfast there; - it's located in Vancouver Chinatown, considerated the "Crackland of Vancouver" because its dangerous and there are many people using drugs near the place; - the other guests are strange as well; - there aren't shelves in the washrooms, so you don't have place to let your things in while you shower.. you have to put it on the dirty floor.
Price Close to bus station
Cramped, hot, noisy and humid Dodgy area
Staff was friendly and helpful. Cheap accommodation, bus connections not too far.
bathrooms were flooded and dirty with hairs everywhere. WiFi only worked at certain areas and those were crowded. Hostel was on the second floor with narrow staircase. Not enough toilets, people queuing up in the morning to use the toilets.
Hostel was very clean and wifi was reliable.
No breakfast and locks on the doors weren't great.
Uncomfortable, dirty, small room, feel dangerous, smelly, no elevator,,,,,,,,,,,bad location
Cheap, good location and service, but with a small room, and no fan, it's hot to sleep in it.
It was only a 15 minute walk to Gastown and 5 minutes to science world.
It was on skid row and surrounded by zombies. The hostel was hard to find as the entrance is hidden inside a junk shop. The springy beds were creaky and uncomfy. Always a queue for the bathroom. There was a lot if noise from the street and club next door
everything was great, keep in mind this is a hostel and if you are on a budget it will be perfect!
the only thing that was really bad is that there is no air conditioning in this older building so it was extremely hot all day and all night long in the room(was staying in the middle of july) like 30 degrees maybe more, it was basically impossible to sleep!
Closeness to Gastown, False Creek, skybus and water bus
Close to bus train and Gastown, also an easy walk to my Ferry. Joe was very helpful - went way beyond necessary and I had two good days wandering around Vancouver because of him
I was here for 2 nights 3 times and the 2nd time I had a bad mattress. Wish WiFi was everywhere in the house
the main thing I liked was the location of the hostel,as it was local to all the places I needed to visit...
The fact that the building,is run down, and needs some major renovations, especially on the outside to make it more presentable, and attractive. The the dorm room I was staying at (room 34),the lockers need to be fixed,as one of the priorities,to keep things save for the guests who are staying there. In the kitchen the message that we should clean after ourselves is understandable, but it needs to be put out in a less aggressive way. Also the statement at the front office that the management, may refuse to reject business to anyone,is not good for business. And wile it all may be well intended to keep the place welcoming,it was definitely a turn of from my point of view as a costumer. The HI hostel is a great example how a hostel should operate it's facilities, and business.
It was cheap, it was close to the transport hub and one staff member in particular was lovely.
Pretty dodgy location, felt very unclean at times - the showers haven't been scrubbed in years. And another staff member was quite rude at times, though helpful when help was required.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Slept very well here, very comfortable beds. Nice common areas. Location was very convenient.
Bathrooms needed to be cleaner - shower curtains need to be taken down and washed/replaced.
-Very thin walls, you hear every sound -Although cleaned on a daily basis, not very sanitary -Just basic facilities, do not expect too much
close to everything
Close to town (15min to walk) Close to the nice Chinatown Pretty big room friendly and helpfull staff
-Great staff -Good layout and set up of facility. -CLEAN -Having kitchen and computer access is great! -I really liked this place and will be back.
