location of hotel, walking distance to Epcor Center
reception staff could have handled some issues better.
Check in,valet and desk clerk efficient. size of room. Starbucks coffee 24hrs big bonus. Secure & speedy elevators,
Nothing to dislike, would have been nice to see lounge open when we got back from concert 11pm to get a wine/cheese/nightcap.
I have asked for my bill to be reviewed on the basis that it was not what was agreed on registration. There has been no reply.
too many hidden charges. We chose this hotel for its competitive price (it wasn't overly cheap, but a reasonable price) but was shocked at all the extra charges. $40/day to park our vehicle, and $15/day internet! valet's request for half an hour notice for our vehicle was excessive. I was very displeased about being in the middle of a construction zone. I would not have chosen the hotel if I knew it was under such major renovations. I wanted a nice quiet hotel, not to walk through construction men and equipment everywhere I went. Also, on checkout the clerk put all of our room charges on my credit card without asking. My boyfriend and I were splitting the charge and we had to do some last minute money transfers before we left the country. I thought hotel staff were supposed to ask how you wish to pay. we were told we were getting queen beds, and we were given doubles. sleeping in a double with an infant and a toddler was not fun.
We appreciated the location and courteous staff.
Double beds! The rooms should have queen size beds. Why on earth is it King or double for our options only? Double beds do not cut the mustard. Coffee pots only made a single cup of coffee, only 2 pkgs of coffee in a room that accommodates 4 people.
The staff on the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The location was great for us as we only had a couple of days in Calgary before a west coast trip.
The staff was very courtuous and helpful at all time. Delicious breakfast! Nice room with confortable bed. Love the pool and the gym. All that at very center of Calgary! We had a great time!
Location was fab. Right across from the Calgary Tower and one block from the main drag for restaurants with alfresco dining, stores and the Core Shopping Mall. Room was large and we had a great view. Was very clean. Buffet breakfast was excellent and included in our room deal. The eggs Benny was fab and the mushrooms in a sauce was amazing.
No changing room for the pool (except one toilet) or a place to shower afterwards. The shower out by the pool sprayed cold water. The pool liner is all bubbled. Charged for WiFi
The staff went out of their way to bring us a tray of cookies and chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary and playdo for our 3 yr old son.
Great staff,very helpful
Decor outdated and really depressing, breakfast in Traders was poor
Great experience overall. Totally worth booking with the breakfast included option. Front desk service was ok. Service staff in the restaurant made many excellent recommendations and were very friendly and helpful. Initially I had a bad check in experience as I was under the impression I had a room with a city skyline view. When I arrived, the front desk agent told me I was to be on the 8th, then 5th and then 3rd floor as most rooms were dirty. This was not a good first impression. When I shared this with our server the next morning she apologized. I came back to my room later in the day to find a note thanking me for my business with a voucher for two drinks on the hotel to enjoy in the bar. I was very impressed by this gesture. I would return because of the attention given to me to rectify another employees shortcomings. Overall a great experience. I would definitely return.
The front desk agent at checking did not seem very well trained or informed. I was never told where the restaurant was that I was to have breakfast in. On top of this, he seemed to have no idea which room to put us in as he told us most of the rooms were dirty. Hmmm. I almost turned around and went to the Fairmont across the street prepared to pay twice the price for a clean hotel room and better customer service.
Planet best in downtown
Only vallet parking ist an easy option
- Bed was extremely comfortable - Service was great - Valet parking was reasonably priced - Amenities were useful
The room was clean, comfortable and well presented and the location was good for what we needed.
Breakfast buffet was a bit limited. It would have been nice to have day to day variety
The view, the service and price was higher than what i was quoted online by 30$
No parking on site
Comfortable clean room Location
Had to pay for wifi No safe in room
Central location, within easy walking distance to the city attractions and the Stampede. Starbucks in hotel lobby good.
The bar was very dull, with little atmosphere and drab.
Free Internet Friendly staff Great location
The rates are too high for a hotel of this quality.
Closeness to main attractions and restaurants
Quality and choices of food at breakfast bar.
Perfect location, so easy to get around downtown & just 10 mins to Stampede park.
Very bad experience! not value for money! When we checked in afternoon we were informed that the room were not ready, and the staff asked me to leave my cell phone number and would call me when they complete cleaning the rooms. In fact I never received the call. Moreover, I booked two rooms and made a special note that we need one room with king size bed, another room with two queen-size beds when booking via booking.com. However, when we went back to the hotel in the evening we were informed that they had the rooms with the king size bed ONLY. So we two women had to sleep on one bed for two nights. The hotel's explanation is that they didn't know my request, then I called booking.com and booking.com said this request was definitely sent to the hotel. I don't know what I can say!
The quality of the beds, sheets, pillows. Nice size pool and spa tub
Cost of breakfast too pricey. No outdoor balcony seating. Overpriced bar
