I had a great warm welcome by both of the hosts. Including a visit to the ice-rank for a good old match of the Flames, felt very welcome and had a great time. I will go back if I visit Calgary again.
Maybe the City of Calgary should have removed the snow from the sidewalk beside the guesthouse and the neighborhood
Location was handy for my downtown meeting, great selection of dining options with a few blocks
Breakfast was not available early enough for me to take advantage of, shower was cramped, anyone larger than me (6'10" -210#) would have had a shower challenges.
Friendly, excellent breakfast, perfect location.
This place was like home. My first B&B experience so I didnt know what to expect. Graham was awesome from the time he greeted me at the door until he called me a cab to get to the airport. Room was great. Comfy bed, fast Wi-Fi, nice TV. Just reading their little info booklet was inviting with lots of info. While I did not use them they offered books and DVDs you could grab and bring up to your room if you would like. Breakfast was fantastic. Nothing better than going down to get a home cooked meal and sharing some stories with other people you have never seen before and didn't even know were there! Location was fantastic. Couple of blocks over were nice new/modern (and pretty awesome) bars and a Safeway. A nice walk to downtown and quick to the Saddledome to watch the Flames. The delicious breakfasts, service and company were definitely a bonus and value for your money. I usually dont stay at the same place twice but in this case I would make an exception for the Westways.
I did not stay long enough.
* Location * Staff * Breakfast!! * All the extras such as unlimited bottled water, fresh coffee, Bath room items * Coziness! * Decor
* Shower Cubicle was a little too small for me. *
Location and the fact that this old house has a new life. Staff person was good and there was parking for about 75% of the rooms, which could be really problematic under some circumstances
Our room was pretty small and being somewhat claustrophobic I felt a bit uncomfortable. I understand that we got the last room available, so that explains the issue. Sort of pricy for such a cramped space however. The breakfast was smoked salmon and a couple little Costco quiches, which is strange by any standard. A simple omelet to order would no doubt satisfy most clients.
Very Friendly and helpful.
The staff is excellent and very helpful. Nicely decorated rooms. Centrally located, neither far from downtown nor do we miss anything.
Rooms are a bit small, but manageable for two
Hosts Graham & Jonathon were great, breakfast very good very cosy homely atmosphere
a bit far from down town
I like the host and his two dogs.room is so warm and homely, and also very clean.breakfast is wonderful.I really love the 3 nights of staying there.
The host was verry freindly and informative. The location is good. Downtown can easily be reached by public traffic. There are enough shops and restaurants close by.
The room was a bit cramped with all the furniture and my bags.
Friendly staff, cute rooms, delicious breakfast and walking distance to downtown.
Obviously, the breakfasts. From smoked salmon and quiches to waffles with peameal bacon and Saskatoon berry syrup, this is soooo much better than a Hilton breakfast bar. Huge room, huge TV ( mission room), comfortable bed, quiet neighborhood, walkable to everything you need and 5 min bus to downtown and C train. Exemplary. Recommended for sure.
Sadly, the WiFi ( at least in my room) wasn't up to snuff, making some business- related work ( WebEx and streaming on line video meetings) not possible. Some tech upgrades would sort that though.
The breakfasts were out of this world!
The team is very attentious and friendly. Location is good, close to public transportation and not so far from city centre. Restaurants are about 3 blocks distance.
Excellent wifi, breakfast better than in an standard hotel
Location a bit far from town, our bed was way to small for two persons. Calgary in general a bit disappointing.
Cozy and comfortable lodging
A bit far from downtown, slow transit access
kind host and personnel. . Excellent breakfast. perfect location.
rather small rooms packed with furniture.
Owners , room very tiny, hole in floor, breakfast no choice only what is put in front of you, love dogs but these dogs not very friendly but they are old, did not like the fact they were fed at our breakfast table. We had booked this B&B in November on the reviews and were very disappointed very over rated.
Location is not in the very CBD but within 7min by bus (the stop is just steps from the building or 300m for frequent buses). Near a number of bars and pubs @ 4th Str. Good breakfast, helpful and responsive staff. The required toiletries, accessories and electronics are in place.
The house is well maintained. However, it is not a 5 star hotel but a guesthouse. For a such format and price I've found no drawbacks for myself.
Welcoming staff. Great breakfasts - quality ingredients cooked properly & served attractively. Facilities - small kitchen available & room equipped with an iron + board, dressing gowns, slippers, quality toiletries.
Unusually we had a lot of luggage (prepared for the variety of weather possible in The Rockies at this time of year). The room was a little small for our cases & bags.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast was hearty and delicious, while the room was very comfortable and cosy. It felt like a home from home, definitely one of the best guest houses I've stayed in.
It was a little distance out of the centre (20 minutes or so on foot) but not really a problem as there's a regular bus service that passes close to the guest house, which goes into the centre.
nice service with wonderful home made breakfast.
