Bed was very comfortable. Even though you are less than a block from Cambie, very little noise. Breakfast delicious--best omelette ever.
The room's updating needs to be completed. The blinds were bent and filthy, and the room needed painting. It was very strange to never see your host for the whole stay. Communication is done via a letter of instructions in the mail box. A staff member cooks breakfast. Not the usual bed and breakfast experience.
Great service, comfortable room at a good price.
I found the facilities comfortable and extremely tidy. Cleanliness was top notch. The location was excellent; ideally located to the downtown area and a short walk to BC Place stadium where the Grey Cup was played. My son and I enjoyed our stay; it was perfect and met our expectations.
I really do not have any complaints regarding Cambie Lodge B&B; I was pleased with the accomodations; it met our needs perfectly. We really did not encounter many staff members (only when I checked out); our room was made up on a daily basis and the house was quiet and peaceful. My son and I had a good stay. Great!!
Location is fantastic , close to public transportation. Good shower with hot water. Was very quiet location and room. Did not use breakfast and Wi-Fi.
Was very warm when we got the room.
Friendly staff at Breakfast.
Location was not what anticipated in proximity to area we wanted to be in. No staff was available to discuss issues. WIFI was sketchy. Internet access was slow, including on Guest computer. A number of maintenance issues, in the room, and the building in general need to be addressed. Breakfast was in the house next door. Not mentioned in the description. Other Guest noise. In the building...slamming doors and tromping the stairs; and at Breakfast ... it was hard to have a breakfast conversation with the person next to me, because of the loudness of others.
The staff was lovely. They seemed delighted to help with anything. The breakfasts were perfect (french toast, pancakes, eggs done any way you like, home made croissants, tea and coffee, orange juice, etc.). The bed was extremely comfortable and came with a nice down duvet. The neighbourhood was quiet yet not remote.
No wifi the first two days. The basement room was a bit dark (but that's fair - it's in a basement. They did everything they could to brighten it). We had a shared bathroom, which became a bit of a pain, but we paid less for the shared bathroom room so again, that's fair. Overall this was a great stay.
Very friendly, cosy B&B with a nice breakfast room (and balcony). Metro station within a 5 min. walk, nice restaurants and a hip café just around the corner.
Homey atmosphere, quiet, pretty close to Canada line, unpretentious, clean.
Couldn't find the staff to check in or pay, though friendly once located. I had to go to early meetings and breakfast didn't start until 8, so I couldn't take advantage of it.
great location and friendly staff. a lovely old house. very generous breakfast.
lots of plumbing noise, and the mattress was not as nice as the ones at other guest houses I have stayed at. Also, booking.com failed to notify the guesthouse of my arrival! fortunately the staff were able to sort it out, but I will always check my bookings personally from now on.
Close to the subway station, food stores in the neighbourhood and restaurants... the staff are helpful, simple breakfast but you get what you need...I was good for me for a short stay.
The room I stayed is downstairs and it has a strange smell that I do not really like....poor soundproof of the ceiling so I heard every movement from the room up on my top, e.g. walking, closing the door.
Great location, nice B&B with free parking in older (Mission style) home. Very convenient location. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Close to transit. Good breakfast, cereal, muffins, croissants, toast, fruit and your choice of eggs. Good value.
We felt right at home whether there were others around or we were there on our own. It is very comfortable. We like the traditional décor combined with modern luxuries like abundant hot water, soundproofing, parking, and Wi-Fi. We were not sure what to expect with a 'vegetarian' breakfast but it is all fresh and satisfying. The staff (owners?) are lovely and genuine.
We only booked one night. It is so comfortable, we must book longer next visit.
Clean and nice breakfast
I thought we were going into a family bed and breakfast, so we could talk to the family members.
We were 3 blocks from the light rail station. We could have taken it from the airport. The breakfast was good, but no coffee before 8:00 am. It was very comfortable. The staff were helpful when we were planning our day and there were a couple of small stores to get supplies and a very nice restaurant within a block.
The room was small. When we made our reservations they could have given us directions from the airport to B&B using the light rail station.
We arrived early while our room was still being cleaned, but were welcomed with a smile, the option to drop off our luggage, and excellent lunch suggestions within easy walking distance. Breakfast next door was tasty and staff was very accomodating and friendly. Shops, banks, and public transportation are nearby. We had a large second floor en sute room with our own balcony. A telephone is available in the hallway for local calls, with handy phone numbers such as taxis.
Know that you have to walk a little ways or take public transportation to do any sight-seeing. On a warm day the fan in the room was helpful, but when we left our balcony and windows open we noticed the smoking area was outside the entrance below. There are limited travel brochures and no host on site to ask questions of. The furnishings and decor are a bit tired but adequate.
cleaning decent size room, friendly staff and close to railway station.
nothing that i can think of
The location and the house were great
Though the staff were friendly and tried hard, checkout was frustrating and chaotic. Room 9 was a cramped room with no bathroom located in the basement next to a boiler and directly under all of the water pipes of the house; there was constant VERY loud water noises and late night noise from an adjacent room.
A very comfortable place to stay in a really great location and good value. I would definitely stay here again
Parking can be a problem
Cleanliness Wonderful breakfast
I would have liked a feather pillow
Location was great. Parking somewhat of an issue.
Room was hot.
Location was good for us. Breakfast was ok.
The house is cute but old and stuffy. Our bedroom was #9 in basement past the old furnace and laundy room. The carpets and chairs in our room were stained. Windows did not have screens. Price was okay. Don't know what the other 8 rooms look like. Never know what you are going to get!
Me and my daughter spent 3 nights at the BB. The people who work there were very friendly and helpful. I recommend the place to anyone. Good breakfast, very well situated and very comfortable.
No recycling...we are in 2014. Every places should recycle.
Location. Access to Public Transport. Vegetarian Breakfast. Clean Place. Rates are very reasonable. Staff are courteous and helpful.
Our stay was too short.
Room, very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Friendly staff
Sharing facilities, but then it is a B&B
