Score from 67 reviews Wonderful
that the bathroom had hair on the floor from supposedly being cleaned. Went to check out and there was no there to complain to at 10:00 in the morning
Jonathan was super friendly and accommodating. Loved the private balcony, and the fireplace was a great surprise!
Wifi in rooms might have been desirable if our stay had been longer.
Peace quiet. Wildlife at doorstep clean and comfortable
People was smoking
nice layout, roomy, especially for a famuily.
Restaurant on the ship (not sure if it is owned by a separate owner) was over-priced. Cold breakfast with coffee came to over $25. for my wife and I.
Nice help at the desk
The room smelled like old cigarette smoke. Parking was on a gravel "parking lot" almost on the street. With a rope to step over every time something had to be picked up from our van. Felt unsafe. Nothing happened though... Uncomfortable bed.
location was great, spacious rooms, no wireless connection in the room
could have a small fridge or a microwave
spacious room, good beds, good location, nice setting
no microwave or fridge
Everything, from the friendliness of the staff, the food, and our room was just GREAT with wonderful views, a really fabulous find. Just wished we could have stayed longer !!
Nothing to dislike !
Thanks, everything was just great for us. Harvey, our skipper is an absolutely great guy! We couldn't have asked for better fishing. We will be back again.
Having to leave to go back to the Lower Mainland
No fridge in the room.
It was spacious Nice view of harbour Nice costal atmosphere Accommodating to help to figure out the shower One of the nicest place to stay
No phone to call reception No wifi No hot meal option for breakfast No lighting on stairs to building Difficult to get luggage to room No towel bars
The Canadian Princess is a quaint place, a little dated, but still clean and has character. The location is ideal if you are visiting Pacific Rim Nat'l Park. In the morning we saw 3 bald eagles by the edge of the water. One was a eaglet that was learning to fly. It was fun to watch them! We loved our stay here and would hesitate to stay again!
Our only negative comment is that the room had a faint fishy odor. It should be expected though as the hotel is at a Marina and they do fishing excursions.
Rooms were large and comfortable
Hair in both beds and reception did not seem to understand english very good. We were given a discount in the end but had I not brought it up again I do not think we would have.
Being on the water & the quiet
I am a local Vancouver Islander who took my New Zealand friend on a whirlwind tour of the Uclulete and Tofino areas. I was looking for something central, clean, confortable, picturesque and quintessentially West Coast on a budget. This place delivered on all points. The only draw back was being on the first floor as our upstairs neighbours were easily heard through thin-ish walls/ceilings. Recommend booking top floor room.
Honestly, the place delivered on all of our criteria for this particular trip. If I had to be picky, I would say the room pillows aren't particularly comfortable, it would be great if a light continental breakfast could be included and there should be Wifi in the rooms. (Wifi was accessible from the lounge of lovely old pleasure liner parked right out front at the marina, which was neat, but when you're trip is as action packed as ours, it's preferred to be able to access Wifi from the rooms)
The room was fairly clean. Comfortable beds. Food on board was very good but service was slow at times. We enjoyed the little porch/deck to sit on although the August weather was somewhat poor. Staff and residents of Ucluelet told us it is nick-named "Fog-ust". When we asked at the desk at check-in why the sudden change in weather from Nanaimo to Ucluelet, the manager said "well it's August and that's what happens here."
Not a whole lot to do if you are not going there to fish. No pool, no WiFi in the room, no beach to sit on, no picnic area for guests with pets. No facilities in the room to make or refrigerate meals. There are no complimentary meals. We asked the office staff for extra sugar, we were given 5 little pkgs. even though we were booked for 6 days, so we had to have housekeeping in to replenish supplies. The rooms are very noisy as if there is little to no sound-proofing. You will think someone is in your room showering even though they are next door. If you are booking online you are not given a price for pets or children. We paid $25.00 per day for our dependent son (17 yrs. old) and an additional $20.00 a day for our small dog then charged taxes on top of it all.
Quite large room with a very nice view of the harbour. Lovely sightings of herons in the bay and we had deer coming right up to the balcony! This is very good value for the money, especially when you compare to Tofino prices. However, not much going on in Ucluelet in comparison, including limited eating options.
We discovered our carpet was wet after unpacking for the night. There was an odour too, but the front desk investigated and then rectified with a good discount for the night - we didn't want to go to the trouble of moving rooms. We were advised against the onsite restaurant by someone walking out - told it was very slow service and not great food.
Our room was very large with a loft and a great view of the marina. I highly recommend the loft suite
nothing comes to mind
Scenery, location, friendly staff
Was impossible to get into the restaurant -continental breakfast was way overpriced
I didn't like the fact that when I complained about the drunken men pouring beer off the balcony above us that nothing was done. The Staff assured that if it continued that they would be evicted. Well it did continue and nothing was done. Even Booking.com brushed us off stating that it was between the owner and myself. I will never use Booking.com again. Thanks Murray Ash.
The rooms need updating and were not very clean.
Rooms were excellent
No fridge in room No wi fi in rooms only in squalid little room on the deck of the ship
The view of the harbour was very nice and the room was nice and clean
There was no fridge or phone in the room, front desk staff not very friendly. The deck outside the room was rotting away.
WIFI only in certain locations shared balconies (noise) 6am wake-up calls for fishers generally catering towards fishers
