The private, ground level patio, is latticed off, but adjacent to the parking area.
The only real negative issue was that the A/C was central only. So the only control of temp. (usually quite chilly) was to open or close the air vent in the ceiling...and when closed, of course it whistled as some air forced itself through the slits. We just countered by closing it when we were out and usually leaving the vent open and the window and door to the patio also open while in the room (not environmentally sound, but workable).
It was a simple, pleasant, house, with 6 rooms only - all at ground level- operated as a hotel with a breakfast of eggs, ham, cereal, etc., in the front lobby. Very basic furnishings and working man(and woman) finishes, but all well maintained and very clean. There is a lounge with a pool table and a very lovely Chinese style garden at the back, beyond the parking area. One room only(ours, Room #5) has a private, ground level patio, partially shaded by trees and the house walls.
Away from the bustle of Queen street, but only a 6 to 8 blocks' pleasant walk.
