This Ottawa hotel is in the ByWard Market area, within a 10-minute walk of the National Gallery of Canada. The hotel has rooms with a microwave and mini fridge.

Score from 411 reviews Very good
location and convenience to anywhere.
Noisy in the corridor in the evening because of thoughtless guests. Breakfast is not available.
Every thing in this hotel Not clean no parking dirty place staff rude washroom clogged just too many negative things Not going there any more
Had a good experience during my stay but wish they had a restaurant at the actual hotel for breakfast purposes.
VERY poor soundproofing, could hear EVERY sound from the street outside. Parking lot was atrocious and way too small.
Perfect spot for a visit to the city..
The location is really good. The room is also good.
They charge for parking and breakfest. So, in the end the price was not so good.
Ottawa is a beautiful and friendly town. The Captial Hill is in perfect location for walking into the cities.Wonderful walk along rideu River. The hotel usually have nice rooms and very friendly staff
One night we stayed in a smaller room on the 6th floor which unfortunately was a problem with mold.
Staff was excellent. Helpful and friendly at every request.
Parking is difficult at best. Lucky it was a holiday weekend and Government offices closed--allowed for limited street parking
It's a lot better than the original Beacon Arms where I stayed during '57 - '58 and '60 -'61
Location Lobby Staff Attached restaurant
WiFi very weak Dripping tub tap Thin Walls Old elevator, long waits Old looking room details, trims
Very central. Walking distance to Rideau Centre, Parliament Hill and ByWard Market.
The room is outdated and old. The placement of the TV is ridiculous. The chairs to sit on and watch TV are at the side of the TV. The Wi-Fi doesn't work most of the time. The signal is extremely weak. The bathroom fixtures are old and dirty. The WC wasn't clean. No care was taken to know their guests. Even though we were four people only 2 towels were provided. We had to ask for more. Even though we did that the first night, yet the second day only two towels were provided again. Very disappointing. The location is so good but the standard is very low. Will never stay here again.
We enjoyed the being close to the parliament buildings and the downtown area everything we wanted to see was within walking distance, even to the byward market
The only thing we did not like in our hotel room was the lack of a vanity in the bathroom in our hotel room. We had to keep our toiletries in the hallway storage cupboard which was very inconvient.
Quite environment and no smoking
Location, room size and good wifi.
No breakfest included and bed not very confortable.
The staff, especially at the desk, who took good care of our luggages till our train departure. The location is also very convenient.
The restaurant. Service was poor, o the point that we didn't have the breakfast tht we ordered. We ended having only toast and jam.
they were fair in the end,,
Horrible wi fi signal
Location Spaciousness of room Comfortable bed Available parking
Hallway doors are very noisy. There was a constant droning noise coming from suite across the hall (fan)? Long wait for elevators ( especially in a.m.)
Great location central to government offices and all business and entertainment venues
Didn't replace coffee from day to day ( I was there for 3 days) Didn't clean/replace coffee cups or pot. Not enough towles and when we asked for additional towles they didnit add the additional towels for each day.
freindly supportive staff, the beds were wonderful....and very conveniently located.. defintiely would go back to this place
bathroom a tad small , the hotel is "dated " in appearances, but do not let that deter you ...
Room was spacious, excellent location
Room was too close to the elevators which was very noisy (especially during the night), bathroom needs renovation
It was close to the CBD with a 5 minute walk to restaurants, fast food, shops etc.. The bus to and from the Airport (Route 97) basically stops outside coming inrto the city and around the back going to the airport as they are one way streets but only a two minute walk. Very convenient. You get what you pay for. Air con/hearing very good.
It's a bit tired and needs to come into the 21st century. The lifts are old and VERY slow. The wifi was rubbish.
Central location, Breakfast Service
Location was good. The cafe had a good breakfast.
They should not be saying they have wifi thoughtout. On the 8th floor the reception was below the level of poor at best. It was fine in the lobby but uncomfortable with people milling about. Although parking for me seem to be a nightmare, they seemed to be fairly organized. Leave plenty of time to get your car out in the morning. The question #3 ask if I would recommend this hotel. Although I said yes, I would look around to see what else is there before settling on here. Again, the wifi was a big let down.
