Nice spacious suites . Comfortable located nex to Robson street . Very clean . Friendly staff .
It is in an excellent location to use as a base to explore Vancouver.
The staff would not accommodate and allow my guest who arrived in the city a few hours ahead of me to check in. They asked her to sit in the lobby until I was due to arrive 5 hours later. They would not accept my verbal authorization and also declined a third party authorization form that was sent to me by the first employee I spoke with there.
The location is great. A very short walk to Robson Street and the Pacific Centre. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are wonderful. We loved it so much we have re-booked to stay again.
The daily vacuuming and bed making good have been more thorough but it was certainly clean when we checked in, this is being overly picky though.
The 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in was specious, clean and modern. Location is the key; right in the heart of downtown surrounded by restaurants and shops. Across the road, you have a grocery store. For our last meal, we decided to buy ingredients from the grocery store and cook for ourselves which turned out to be cheaper and reminiscent of being at home. Also The staff were very friendly.
Although the staff were very friendly, what we discovered was that they were not that knowledgeable about the city. For instance, I read online that the ticket fare to North Vancouver which is in zone 2 was $4. But one of the staff kept trying to "correct" me saying that the fare was $3.50 and North Vancouver was in zone 1.
The suite was well-cared for. It had a very homey feeling and very spacious. A great location, with restaurants and a pleasant little upscale "market" across the street. Staff was pleasant, attentive and professional.
Not great views, but we weren't in our room much. Cost a bit more than what I usually pay for a hotel room, but it was worth it.
The view and location was perfect for us, the room looked so modern and clean.
The minute I called for a quote on available rooms I was outraged by the price on off season. I could barely understand the gentleman I was speaking with as his English was very poor. My friend recommended the hotel and her selling point was "reasonable rates". When I called they were anything but reasonable. I pay those rates in Lake Louise or Whistler on ON season. Not for one night in Vancouver coming from Chilliwack, not even out of towners. It was so disappointing. Then I go online and search affordable hotels Vancouver and your hotel comes up. I look and its almost HALF the price online. So going through a 3rd party is 42% cheaper. That's insane. Before even booking I called the hotel and expressed that I am not a foreigner and that I'm really upset about the difference in price when talking to the hotel in person. We only need one night and were recommended to go there because of reasonable prices and rooms. Anyhow that didn't end it, because I luckily didn't get ripped off because I was able to book online and knew that the hotel was close to our dinner reservation and just wanted to be in walking distance so who cares right? But then I felt totally wrong, well they asked us to stay as we were leaving so they can check the room. It felt violated. We've never been asked a question like that, we rent hotels all over Canada all the time. It felt like we were being treated like teenagers who may have left a mess, meanwhile you have our credit card. All in all I would say we would have been happier if we were able to swipe a card and not deal with any of your employees. That says alot.
All staff were very friendly and helpful, including maintenance. The location was great, near shopping, transportation, restaurants, etc., and, especially, a specialty grocery across the street. Full size bathroom in an apartment arrangement with living room, dining room, kitchen and separate bedroom. The DVD player and guest-controlled thermostats.
The apartment was nicely furnished and matched the photos, but it was not luxurious. The towels could have been better and the stove was very basic and slow to heat.
Clean, central location
If traveling by car - checking in and parking are both inconvenient
I stayed with a group of 6 friends and we were all 100% satisfied with the accommodation. you could not have asked for a better location, and the staff were really friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. our only regret was that we didn't stay there longer
there was nothing to not like about our stay.
great location. clean. good staff. was more than i needed as it was actually a one bedroom apt.
cranky coffee maker.
They overcharged my visa and won't admit they are wrong and won't sign the overpayment forms! So I feel I'm being ripped off. That is all.
Very good hotel. Rooms very clean, bright and very comfortbale. Spacious. Feels veey good.
Parking was not too convient esp with a large car
My husband & I have stayed here many times over the last 7 years. We love the hotel & location. They have now lost our business. Due to an error / fraud there was a double booking for 2 rooms & 4 people (making 4 rooms & 8 people) ALL DETAILS identical. They did not pick up on this which an efficient hotel would have & I had to pay for all rooms booked. They did nothing to help me resolve this. I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN.
The apartment was spacious and comfortable and it was nice to be able to have breakfast when we felt like it. The Urban Store across the road from the hotel was ideal for getting all the food we wanted. Although there is building work going on next door we were not troubled by it at all.
The staff were polite rather than friendly and the concierge was pretty hopeless in responding to our questions!
If you are staying for a few days. Kitchen is well appointed and balcony is nice. Location is excellent for work, shopping and dining.
the staff. very helpful.
air con didn't work. room too hot at night.
I travel with a 1 year old child so it was great for her to run arround the room, they lend us umbrellas when there was raining, and every one was kind. The rooms are more like small apartments or they look like they used to be there was a coffe machine inside the room very easy to use and withe great coffe. The view was great.
One day we left the sign in clean the room but someone (we think the cleaning guy) put it backwards, we think because it had a lot of work to do. And depending on who cleaned our room was how fast and how good was cleaded, some days was superb and others was ok
Great location, excellent place to stay, shops and eateries handy.
Nothing we can think of.
Not typical North American customer service I expect in a major city
Staff and to be Central Vancouver. Bottle shop around the corner and supermarket over the road was fantastic.
Our room not being available when we arrived.
Too low height for parking esp. I drive big lifted trucks and I didn't use the parking pass and still need to pay for it what a shame.
very close to a market
too much Chinese guest, then a little bit noisy at lobby etc.
Big apartment, equipped kitchen, location
Smell in the lobby, construction around the hotel
room was open, clean & furnished nicely. location was within 3 blocks of all of our needs for the weekend & the staff was welcoming.
only complaint - I'm picky about pillows! but other than that, the room & stay overall were excellent & I would recommend the carmana plaza for anyone traveling & staying in downtown vancouver.
The location The kitchen
It's a boring room It's "basic" at best The staff is "adequate" at best Parking is a pain in the (blank) If you need a "kitchen/apt" in Vancouver, it's fine if you get a GREAT RATE... but it's no luxe hotel
