The staff was rude and very unhelpful at the front desk. Nobody came to even clean our room and we were there 4 days!
I liked the kitchen
I did not like that I phoned to make sure 5 people were able to go into the or bedroom I was told yes then when we got there we were going to get turned away. We where told to cancel or pay for a studio on top of the one bedroom which we were forced to do as we were 3 hours away with 3 children. We had to pay another 350.00$ which we did not count on really put a damper on our plans. Booking.com needs to know you are not able to do 5 in a room or there needs to be an age on the 5th child I have a very small 3 year old and there was plenty of room for the 5 of us the studio was barley used a waste of money for us.
Room very comfortable and had the necessary amenities to let one exercise their options. Some small repairs were noted and reported
The fact that we were not told the internet had been down in the Brougham for 2+weeks
Accomodations were clean, good location. great time
Everything was great will go there again
Stay was too short
For a resort, I would assume that somewhere there would be a place to get as meal if you don't feel like cooking - none within walking distance. Grocery store is also a drive and doesn't make sense for a short stay. Exterior was filthy - interior nice and clean. Cladding falling off the back of the property - very poorly maintained - lots of rotting wood and peeling paint. Strongly recommend against this "resort". I hear that its sister resort Carriage Hills (where I was supposed to be and where I thought I was booked - was apparently much better) but for some reason I was not there - and in any case neither has a restaurant on site.
I like the size of the room and how it was able to accomadate our girls weekend. The staff were very welcoming. Since there are no stoves in the room I liked the idea of the bbqs outside.
I didn't like how I could hear the family on the third floor walking around and how close the balconeys were to each other.
Clean room. Fair bit of space. Nice having the microwave and fridge. BBQ outside was excellent. Good location, excellent and inexpensive golf nearby.
Poor WiFi reception
Spacious, clean units. Affordable price. Equipped kitchenette. Playground and pool. DVD player in room. Good location for skiing and mountain biking.
No elevators. No restaurant on site. Early checkout deadline.
Room layout and included features
Staff at reception could be more friendly, less "impersonal"
Have been there before. We like the relaxed atmosphere, and privacy. Also noticed that the older patio chairs have been replaced with new Muskoka chairs.
Mattress was very uncomfortable. Have noticed every time we come that the paint is peeling, and there seems to be little effort to keep up the outside appearance of the building. Has declined over the ten years since we started coming to the resort.
Great staff and great family fun.
Great family stay with my wife and 17mth old baby. Lots of things to do and great location.
Stayed in the studio and wish it had more counter space.
Excellent room and facilities! We also extended our stay on the Sunday and were pleasantly surprised at an "extended special" that was going on which reduced our rate.
Wi-fi was slow and it would have been nice for the pool/hot tub area to be open later than 10pm for the adult swim.
Very convenient for our side trip to Horseshoe Valley. Excellent staff
Kept losing the wi-fi all weekend.
noise from air condtioners
If neighbours were anything less than quiet, we could hear them quite clearly.Obviously poor sound insulation between units.
That we were at the hills resort and not ridge like we booked
We were there for the warrior dash and would like to see a shuttle from the rooms to the race site
The location, the décor and scenery
That I had to leave
We stayed six nights on a visit to family in Toronto. The room was spacious and had both a tub and shower. There was a covered balcony area for outdoor seating. The kitchen was fully equipped with a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and stove/oven. Management changed sheets and towels after our third night. There was ample parking next to the unit. Proximity to Horseshoe Valley Adventure Park (5 minutes' drive) was a big plus for the kids. The development is close to Highway 400 and about a 1-hour drive from Toronto or Georgian Bay. Also close to Barrie and Orilla. Overall, a good experience and pleasant stay. We would return without hesitation.
The resort is now officially located in Oro-Medonte, ON, not in Barrie, as we were told (our GPS brought us to the wrong address!) We weren't allowed to use the outdoor swimming pool at Carriage Hills, even though it had been advertised as accessible to guests in Carriage Ridge. Also, the indoor swimming pool was inaccessible one day of our stay and the hot tub next to the indoor pool was never available the entire week. The Wi-Fi service was always available, but at times slow.
Clean, provided simple things like washing up liquid, kitchen towels, good sized comfortable bed.
The room decor was dated, and the balcony was in desperate need of sanding down and re-painting. Check in was in a different resort (even if they are owned by the same company), and also the majority of the activities were in a different resort again. So all in all required far more driving than anticipated upon booking. Our room cards stopped working one day and this again required we go to the other resort to have the issue fixed.
My boyfriend and I spent 4 days at this resort and loved it! We were looking for a laid back long weekend and were pleasantly surprised with this resort. There was plenty to do and the staff was very friendly and extremely efficient. There are plenty of activities on the resort to participate in, or if you'd like to keep to yourselves there are lots of nice trails to keep you occupied. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. We made great use out of the BBQ's on site which saved us a lot of money in the long run on lunches/dinners!
The info on what beaches are close to the resort was a little misleading. Online it's listed that there were a few beaches within 10-15 minutes, but in actuality the closest one was at least 30 minutes.
I liked that it was close to the starting line for my Centurion Bike race, excellent facilities for my family, pool area, play ground, games room, even BBQ areas. Also the kitchen was perfect, washroom are generous size aswell. Over all a good value for the suite.
When I asked the resort two weeks prior to arrival if I could have a ground floor unit because I have a baby, and will be bringing lots of baby items like crib, high chair... And so on.. Upon our arrival, they had made no effort to put this request through. Only after explaining myself all over again, there just happen to be one ground unit available. Lucky for me. That's all. Overall a good stay.
Nice and quiet. Good place to relax.
Check out is way too early. You need to be out by 10am. Cleaning staff now come every 4 days. Makes it hard to have 4 towels last that long.
