I didn't have a bad experience, but I have to say this hotel is definitely not for the traveler who is challenged by stairs. Getting into the hotel requires a security code, and once that door is open, there are three more steps to a buzzer that allows you into the hotel. And I'm not clear about the taxes. We received a sheet saying "please note, there are not GST/TPS taxes imposed on the price of the room; if you come from outside Canada the foreign tax return does not apply at our B&B." We paid through Booking.com, which said the taxes are included. Weird.
The owner was delightful. She made you feel at home. I needed to change out the pillows, and that happened in an instant. And the breakfast offering topped any place I've stayed. Croissants, sweet breads, cheeses, meats, a wide variety of cereal. Just lovely.
