The Green Chalet has a downstairs apartment which is rented out separately, and this can interfere with your privacy (my 15-year old daughter was whistled at by the group of adults staying below us). Clearly the hotel team can do very little about that, but when you travel with a family I would try and also book the apartment. While the chalet is really nice, at the back is a large gravel area with (nicely done) sheds for garbage etc. The view from the front porch is over a bit of a field and trees. It's green, but not really a majestic view. And when you are inside in the living area, the view is unfortunately blocked by the huge jacuzzi.
We stayed in the Green Chalet which is light and comfortable. There are three good bedrooms with excellent beds, an ok seating area, a big square dining table, a big kitchen and wrap-around porch with a jacuzzi (not our kind of thing) and a good barbecue. When we arrived there were a couple of issues with airco and so on, but the team did everything to repair those quickly, and were very helpful with tips for hiking routes . From Golden (which is just a 5 minute drive away, you have good access to several parks - but you will have to drive between 30 and 90 minutes to get to them. We found that the value for money was quite good.
