Cheryl was very friendly, we got to interact with the other guests at breakfast, good breakfast, clean and comfortable. As advertised.
Everything wad really perfect. The hospitality of Ms. Chambers was perfect. everything was above our acceptation.
We didn't like the noise of the bed.
Very comfortable and quiet. Welcoming, helpful hostess. Breakfast of an astonishing assortment of scrumptious delicacies. Old house decor that is filled with eye-catching, intriguing antiques and other objects. A great base for visiting Sydney, Glace Bay Mine museum and Fort Louisburg.
Lovely B and B! The host and home were lovely and the breakfast was outstanding. I would highly recommend Chambers guest house to anyone. We met other lovely couples at breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The price was extremely reasonable. Great value for money.
The area was good although not ideal.
Had run of the house. Cheryl was very friendly. Offered free wine and snacks. Excellent breakfast.
Too much old stuff (clutter), Washroom facilities need modernizing.
Cheryl takes great care of her guests...her attention to detail is second to none. Breakfast is delicious and we stayed for 4 nights and always looked forward to what she was making in the morning!!
The BB owner was very friendly and helpful when answering questions about local attractions and sights. The home is beautifully decorated with antique furniture and decorations. The bedroom was clean, and decorated to match the rest of the home. Oh, and breakfast was a real treat, a beautiful table setting and fresh baked goods.
Very friendly owner, very clean, parking in front of the house on private estate, breakfast (all in all), house wine and water offered in the evening, nice design of rooms, no additional taxes
Fruit salad (breakfast) is a mix of fresh fruits like bananas and tinned fruit like ananas & peaches, TV runs only on low volume (even with no fan/AC) whereas it is an advantage for having a good sleep without noisy neighbours, shared bathroom is small and has no fan and no window
Beautiful old home, well kept and appointed. Accommodating host. Lovely setting. Great breakfast.
Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was over the top delicious - many choices for any appetite.
Host is fabulous
Cheryl was welcoming and the house was easy to find. Both the house and gardens had many different details that were interesting to wander around. Cheryl recommended the Black Spoon for supper and it was excellent also.
Chambers Guesthouse B&B was one of the best B&B experiences I've had to date. The 135 year old home is absolutely beautiful, filled to the brim with antiques and east coast charm. Cheryl was absolutely wonderful and welcoming, going above and beyond to make everyone comfortable. The breakfast spread in the morning was incomparable- she spoiled us with a wide array of delicious breakfast eats and treats! Thanks for the stay- I'd recommend this place to anyone and I'll try to make it back in the near future!
Beautiful house with nice garden, very friendly and helpful host, delicious and extensive breakfast
The host was very nice and welcoming, and served a large breakfast. Room was comfortable, close to 'downtown' Sydney.
The decor was not to our taste.
Breakfast was a feast! Huge assortment that beat all other accomodations on our 2 week driving trip of NB, NS, CB areas. Several berry types, fruit to start with yogurt, several cereals, coffee, tea, juice, bagels, muffins, tarts, breakfast cakes, homemade jam, toasts and eggs. Very nice deck and garden seating area but didn't have time to sit and relax, was out walking the town/shore. Nice and quite area. Didn't exptect the nice LCD flatscreen or cable available, very nice surprise. Surprised by how quite the house was given the age of building (>120 years I think). Didn't really hear other people moving around that much. I'm 236lbs muscular and girlfriend is 115lbs petite -- both had a great sleep on the bed in Room#4. This room faced the road but didn't really hear any road noise.
Slight musty smell with age of building/ all wood construction and the moist area/weather. Very light though, didn't last.
This house is very charming and upon arrival you feel like the walls are full of stories. I recommend looking around and asking the host some questions and you then find out the interesting stories of within the house. The breakfast spread was amazing. One of the best I've encountered in a private BnB. The bathrooms are very clean and the house is in a quiet location.
Some of the rooms of shared bathrooms so make sure you are comfortable with this before booking.
Cheryl Chambers, the host, is a consummate professional, warm, charming and extremely knowledgeable. She is a joy to engage with concerning the history of the antiques and collectibles which abound at her B&B.
The whole place was exceptional. Cheryl was lovely and accommodating. Her breakfast was perfect and the whole place was comforting and warm. Exceptional value for the price as well.
The owner was very nice, and so was most of our experience here. The rooms are beautiful (if you don't mind the very particular style of them... and the color pink). We missed breakfast; but even without it, it's a great deal for the price.
The location in North Sydney was good; however there isn't much in North Sydney to be close to in the first place. It's a 20 minute drive to Sydney to find anything good to eat or drink. As well, we had a room close to the entrance, so it was quite loud early in the morning.
The house itself is worth the trip, but the rooms are even better. There was ample light, with lamps placed just where you would need them. The bed was comfortable, the room sizable, the breakfast extraordinary. Do not miss this place!
That I couldn't stay longer.
Friendly Location Cost Cleanliness
We stayed at Chambers Guesthouse on our honeymoon before catching the ferry to Port aux Basque. Request room #4 (it has an en suite bathroom). Cheryl was a great hostess and made us feel at home by offering us wine and fresh-picked strawberries to enjoy on her patio after we arrived. She went out of her way to put on a delicious breakfast and our room was absolutely charming. Furthermore, we were a short walk from anywhere we wanted to go and very close to the ferry in the morning. I would recommend Chambers to anyone travelling to North Sydney.
A very warm welcome from the owner. Home- made lemonade, tea, coffee, and a water cooler are available 24-7. The old Victorian house and gardens are a delight. The rooms are very comfortable. The breakfast has a vast choice of cereals, fruit, home-made cakes and muffins. Excellent value in a truly lovely place.
