The staff was fantastic and added to the warmth and charm of the Inn. The rooms were warm and cozy, not cold like a hotel. Breakfast was amazing. We had the hot breakfast one morning and the "continental' the next and they were nothing like you would see at a hotel. Top notch restaurant on site. Food there was to die for. We cannot wait to return on our next visit to Niagara on the Lake.
The staff were awesome. The room was comfortable and spotless. The dining experience was one of the best.
we had to use paid parking as 'Fabulicious' patrons took our parking spot. The thermostat seemed to be locked and we would have liked the bedroom temperature a bit lower than 80 degrees at one point.
Staying at the Osler house is much better than staying at a hotel. It's comfortable, historically interesting, situated on lovely grounds within walking distance of restaurants and the host is charming but not overbearing. And the breakfasts are fantastic and beautifully presented.
My only suggestion would be for the owners to use unscented fabric softener on the linens and towels and to provide unscented toiletries. Many people (including me) react negatively to strong perfumes, so this change would make our experience better without reducing the experience of others.
Location was super, the accommodations were nice and the staff very welcoming. They upgraded our room and it was lovely! It is an old, old building but that was definitely part of the charm. Some of the more modern amenities were not available, but the quaintness more than made up for it! For example, there are not coffee makers in the room, but they bring coffee, hot chocolate or tea to your room on a tray whenever you call! Again, loved it!
Can't think of a thing.
A delightful Inn
The staff was friendly and very helpful. We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and it was wonderfully cozy and quaint!
gorgeous views and amazing architecture. One of the best restaurants I've ever experienced.
Room was a little small - lacked a seating area so had to sit on bed for room service.
Their food was wonderful. But our room on the 3rd floor was too hot for sleeping. It was 55 degrees outside, and we had the air conditioning on all night, and it was still too hot. The furnace covers several rooms. And the hot air rises to the 3rd floor. The bathroom had slanted ceilings and we couldn't stand up straight in front of the bathroom mirror.
Room, wine tasting at 4.30 each day, location, breakfast, staff, decor,
Awesome staff, Close to all shops, lake & restaurants.
Size of the Room
Great ambiance. Excellent staff, ie sarah and young girl server in porch eating area. Shuttle to theater was very helpful.
Did not sleep as well as I would have liked. Don't know why.
Proximity to downtown. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. The complimentary continental breakfast was different yet delicious
We were there as a getaway for our 25th anniversary. Being an inn,the quarters are very close in the dining room. Unfortunately we had a table for 4 next to us that felt the entire restaurant needed to know they were in the medical field. The inconsiderate nature of their demeanour left many of us other patrons unable to have a quiet conversation of own, thus ruining a $150 intimate dinner. As I told out waiter " it was the most delicious yet annoying dinner I have had!" Tj
Much of the staff were very helpful with information when needed!
The continental breakfast was delicious and the porches off the rooms were wonderfully relaxing!
The shower drain in room #5 was very slow
The atmosphere is vintage - the staff are friendly and very efficient- the food was out of this world !! We had planned to go to a local restaurant for dinner but after dining at the Charles Inn, we did not bother to go anywhere else to eat !!
Our room was abit drafty - this is an old house seo we weren't surprised .
Dinner and breakfast were amazing. Service was very good.
Bathroom toilet had low water pressure. Too few surfaces in the bathroom for toilet kits, pills, etc. Could use another comfortable chair in the bedroom.
WE stayed in the Safari Loft and it was outstanding - we felt like we had our own apartment and didn't want to leave it!! the bathtub was massive and even came with a wine glass holder! we will definitely go back soon! loved loved it!!
Staff at front desk were friendly and extremely helpful.
One waiter in the lounge was very loud and not particularly professional.
Pleasant, polite, knowledgeable of the history of the Inn. Nice wine selection (could have some out of Niagara choices!). Very nice restaurant. Historical building in an historical town.
Bit of a drafty old building, could have used warmed tile floors in the bathroom. ...and our stay was too short!
Charming ambiance, walking distance to town.
Night desk clerk did not speak English.
We loved the feel of the inn; it and the staff were very welcoming. It was the perfect stop on our little getaway.
