Hotel was very clean & modern. Location was great & it wasn't overtly expensive. Tea coffee facilities in the room.
Queen room was a bit on the small side, can be a bit cramped with two people & their luggage.
Good location... Very quiet and cozy... Friendly staff at the hotel bar/resturant....
Close to all the locations around the Harbor, most within walking distance
Food at the Vista 18 was a bit expensive for the quality/quantity.
You have to pay extra for parking.
We liked the friendly staff. The fresh fruit in the lobby was a nice. Treat each day. The jr suite was spacious and comfortable.
Really comfortable hotel that is located right near the harbor" museum and great restaurants. The staff was very helpful and the room extremely well appointed.
Very comfy room in convenient location but we needed wheelchair access room and they didn't have one- although they claimed the room was an accessible room (bathroom far too small for comfort) but they did everything they could to source another room and hotel
Tip fishing by household staff. Lack of adequate size bathroom in any room for a wheelchair but no information to this effect provided when wheelchair room was requested.
Location was good, 1 block to the inner harbour. We stayed in a 2bdr suite on the 17th floor with good views all around. Showers had good pressure.
Wifi was out for the entire 2 days we were there. No apology from mgmt - I never go to hotels without wifi and so having this happen after 4 days without wifi (we were camping) meant it was really hard to catch up on my office obligations. Pool is smallish and ok for fooling around but not exercise. Hotel is a little old and tired but despite this most things work ok.
The location is great and it is a very fancy hotel.
The breakfast wasn't included.
Location, location, location.
There was an odd smell to the room. balconies were filthy. Carpets and room need updating badly. Lighting in bathrooms was very dark.
Proximity to downtown Victoria was excellent, allowing us to walk all over town. Hotel was clean, comfortable, with excellent bar (Clives). Parking was available right next door. Room was spacious, bed very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!
I have stayed here many times, I like the location in the city, you can walk everywhere, so close to all the sights and restaurants. Everyone on staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are quiet, comfortable and clean.
no negatives, although the youngest in my party found the pool too deep for an 8 yr old
Great location-close to the action, but on a quiet street. The staff- helpful and sincere. They went above and beyond expectation to help us. Beds were great.
Excellent central location, short walking distance to Inner Harbor, Royal BC Museum, Empress Hotel, Parliament Buildings, etc. Great service with smiles, Bellmen were especially helpful and offered free shuttle service within downtown core. Locally owned hotel with special service touches, like fresh apples at the front desk in the evenings. Notable to mention that beds and duvets were very comfortable; sound sleeps for everyone after long days of sightseeing!
Indoor pool was a bit deep for smaller children (5 to 9 feet deep), so would recommend flotation devices for little ones. Would prefer body wash in bottles, rather than bar soaps in the shower (more convenient, especially for families).
We had a 1 bedroom suite which was spacious, comfortable and clean. All staff members were friendly and helpful. Had dinner at Vista restaurant. Food was excellent and so was the service. PLUS the hotel was in a great location: close to everything downtown.
Shuttle service was excellent
Checkout too early should be noon
Location is good, local business and staff.
Price is not good. I would pay %20 extra next time to stay in fancy hotel. A/C was portable one and connected to out by a hose. Also, Washroom paint is peeling.
Location (from bus terminal & Victoria centre) Room facilities (suite) View from room balcony Restaurant (+ view) Pool & juccuzi
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay ... many thanks for a perfect start to our holiday
Our visit was wonderful. As we walked out the door we were greeted by a staff member Glen who asked if we needed a lift anywhere. When we asked him for a dinner recommendation he drove us to a fabulous restaurant on the other side of the harbour and picked us up when we were finished in the hotel shuttle bus. Fantastic service.
I liked that they gave us a free up grade.
I didn't like the first room they booked us into. The floor smelled felt as though we were on the cleaning storage floor .
The hotel is well located near downtown. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff at the front desk was very helpful.
Walking distance to attractions, not having to worry about parking.
Rather small bathroom.
Location was excellent ,staff was exceptional and parking allowance helpful.
Didn't want to leave the premises and the city of Victoria.
The location was good as was the staff.
-We didn't like having to wait past the check-in time for our room. -Hotel is really starting to show it's age. The furnishings in the Vista dining room are worn and threadbare and do not reflect the advertised status or prices charged. -Overall this hotel does not reflect the name "Chateau Victoria" nor the cost in it's present condition.
As usual, the staff are excellent, the restaurant is excellent, the bar is excellent, and the view is excellent. The rooms are comfortable as are the beds. I was given a free upgrade from a junior queen suite to a double queen when I showed up with my brother. The front desk associate suggested it as I had booked before I knew he was coming with me and had totally forgotten. This is the perfect hotel for a night at the Royal Theatre.
