Everything, especially the owner, such a great person so sweet and careful, we had nice talks even if we stayed just one night
Staff was nice
The room I was given smelt really heavily of cat urine , there were spiders and sow bugs everywhere , had to go to the store and buy air freshener and a can of raid to spray the room down with .... the carpet was greasy looking and the place was dirty ..... would never stay there again
It has everything essential for a night stay. Staff helpful and kind. Good bed.
Price was low Bed was comfy Warm Shower
Clean. Everything worked. Excellent bed.
Wifi got hacked within an hour after my arrival.
The location of the motel was in walking distance to a grocery store and several restaurants. The Departure Bay ferry terminal is not far away from this motel; however, if one does not have a vehicle, one will have to get a cab to get to and from this motel. There was a nice patio outside of our ground-floor room.
There was a loud air conditioner. We chose not to run it at night because of the noise.
The only thing which was weird was our room had an smell as though the carpets or curtains hadn't been cleaned in some time. We just couldn't figure it out.
staff is very nice
too noisy, couldn't sleep at all
Friendly reception, good service.
Hotel staff were very curteous and eager to create a welcoming atmosphere
Superficially the room was clean but grime was in window sills and dust in corners
Nice staff and good service!
A little bit noisy!
Hotel was easy to find which is a big plus when you get off the ferry in the evening. The room was very clean and the bath was spotless
very close to the main highway with road noise untill fairly late in the evening
staff were filling in for owners and were very accommodating.
had been smoked in air conditioning only in one room and very old and loud carpets need replaced bathroom needs recaulking loud street noise
Comfy room with kitchen and patio
Very close to the highway resulting in traffic noise
The staff service was excellent. Although the hotel was on a busy road, we heard very little traffic noise from our room. The Colonial was everything we needed for a one night stay before heading back to the mainland. Well priced.
It was all good.
My visit to Nanaimo was to be a short trip, I was on a budget and I have to say that for my money I was not disappointed. The lady was very friendly, the room was very clean. If I wanted to stay for a few days I had all the kitchen amenities provided to me and the room opening on a back deck was a bonus.
It is on a busy street and the sound proofing is pretty much non existent
wonderful bed duvets back deck and yard
noise from highway
It had a good location. The supplies in the room were a good to have.
A slight smell or odor, Little dated for this place. The supplies in the room could use a update.
simplistic. near to the ferry for Vancouver
Smell, very old look as if it had been that way for too long a time. No shaver socket in the bathroom. Didn't like the soap dispenser would have rather a bar of soap and small shampoo containers. The dispenser felt like almost bar equipment and awkward when having a bath.
Clean bathroom; simple but good value; excellent host who explained features in the room (thermostat, wi-fi password, etc). Quite close to marinas and the Departure Bay Ferry terminal.
Smallish room, but that was to be expected for the price.
Friendly service, kitchenette a plus, clean bathrooms
Patio door didn't lock, traffic going by a little noisy, noise for second floor
Small,dark and dingy
The room was spotless with new appliances, coffee maker kettle TV, micro wave and fridge, The bathroom was the cleanest and softest towels I have ever seen in a motel. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable.
Seems to target budget-conscious, business travelers--well-kept, modestly-priced, adequately-appointed. The staff were friendly, noninvasive, and helpful.
