Run down. Nosy
The first room assigned to us had a very noisy ceiling fan, so we were upgraded to a nicer room. Staff were great and the room we stayed in and hotel was very clean and fairly comfortable.
1. -- Bed mattress or boxspring was broken on one side, and as result bed was slanted down on one side. 2. -- Toilet-paper holder fell apart twice off the wall; had repairman in to reattach it. 3. -- Breakfasts close way too early (at 9:30), even on weekends. Montreal is a party city, and this hotel is right there downtown by the village, so we are up late. We never get to use the breakfast coupons. 4. -- Parking used to be included at this hotel, but now has a $20 charge without security or an attendant. 5. -- The on-site gym was closed for repairs.
The location is great and the picture are nice on the website . They had a breakfast included
The break fast closed at 9h30 . If you do not want to serve breakfast next time close at 8
Not one thing.
Our agent at time of check in was excellent. He was quick, helpful, and overall friendly. The agent at check out was the opposite. rude. Also, the bath tub did not drain properly. I started off having a shower and ended up it being a bath as the water did not drain. wifi was horrible. no signal. no correct passwords. never once was able to use it. When I called the front desk, they told me that I was working but had no help or offered to resolve issues.
I liked the staff and everything. Just they didn't have complicated floors.
only good thing about this hotel is the location
- dirty carpet - outdated bathroom - very noisy room, could hear anything coming from the other rooms and corridor. - for a similar rate, you can easy get a much better stay elsewhere
Staff was nice and helpful
Toilette was not in good shape Breakfast very average Price too high for the room
The location is about a 30 minute walk into Old Montreal
Our room did not look like the pictures advertised. It was a "non-smoking" room yet it reeked of stake smoke, the ceilings are low, there was very little light in our room, the AC never got lower that 78 degrees no matter what we tried and it was uncomfortably hot at night, the bathroom was outdated and unclean, beds were uncomfortable, and the staff was not helpful. We had an early fligt in and requested and early check in and they charged us $40 to check in an hour earlier. We also had trouble finding a staff member to help us get a cab to the airport in the morning. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Try to find a nice B&B wih a comparable cost.
The bed was wondeful.
The breakfast is not for diabethics, there are only bread, waffles and marmelades, no ham and cheese or other sources of proteins...
Reception very slow. One front desk person helping a lot of customers. A/C never worked and very loud it wake up us the whole night. Internet is very poor and very slow. The entrance without ramp to pull our suitcase we had to go around the back very inconvenience
Staff is nice
Hotel is old it needs renovation. it seems there was an issue with electricity in the room; the room floor was hot in some areas and there a spot where the room's carpet is burned. The light wires are striped out, etc. The hotel is pretty old.
There was no wifi unless you walked into the lobby and barely any even there. There were ants in our bathroom, seeing as we never had any food in the room it was rather unsettling. The staff was not helpful when it came down to solving the insect problem, and they didn't offer a discount either. I barely slept at night from the though of bugs crawling on me. The website said it would be 178$ and we ended up paying 250$. And they only accept CANADIAN money so Americans be aware, actually just don't go here.
The room was large. But faced a terminal and there was homeless people sleeping every night.
Not well maintained. Bathroom was dark and dingy. Breakfast was very limited, and the exact same everyday. There was cob webs all around the ceilings. Ice was in the basement.
Beds were very comfortable, night time staff was very friendly, great location, good value, free breakfast.
They made us wait until 4:30pm to check into our room when check in is 3:00pm. Staff was not very communicative or apologetic about this. Daytime staff not nearly as friendly as evening staff. Our bathroom was dirty, and it didn't get cleaned properly for the 4 days we were there, wifi is very very slow, elevator buttons are nearly impossible to read (I know a trivial thing to complain about, but seriously they are horrible!)
Staff got us a different room when we were in the most uncomfortable bed.
Set up of breakfast room. Some of us couldn't get beverages. Waffle maker should be in a place that does not hold up others in getting their food. The toaster was not in a good spot either.
hotel looks cheap even if we paid 200$ a night. Very poor look, weird smell in the rooms, this hotel needs a major make over. Wont come back.
Close enough to the attractions. Staff was pleasant but there was quite a line up for check in every time we passed reception. While many staff were present, only one seemed to be working.
Have to pass homeless row in the park to get to St. Catherines. Elevator was scary jumpy, we took the stairs to the 5th floor.
The front desk staff was pleasant. We had a room with a king bed and it was great. Got a great sleep and the bathroom was nice as well. The location of the hotel was good as well. The walk to the metro was barely 3 minutes. Close enough to the shopping area, as well.
The staff at breakfast as well as the cleaning staff were not as approachable. The pushy crowd at breakfast had me leaving without what I wanted. The wifi in the room did not work, but it did work in the lobby. The hotel did look like it needed updates in the halls and even though it looks modern on the site, it's not as pristine as it appears online. The place was clean but not to a high standard. It was livable though. It was good enough that I would stay there again.
The location is good. Close to metro and a short walk to downtown.
Expensive parking. They make you pay for parking on top of your room charge. Run down room. Shower was gross. Wall paper was falling off the windows were moldy and there is only one ice machine to serve 7 floors. Breakfast was a joke. Be assured that this is not a breakfast but in fact a CONTINENTAL breakfast. Cold hard boiled eggs, bread and cereal is not a breakfast. They mislead you. They however do have a waffle maker for all 7 floors of guests to line up behind. Piss poor.
BREAKFAST CLEANESS Location STAFF.
WI FI Last two days not connection
Staff was excellent.
$25.00 for parking It's a run down hotel The only good photos were the ones you see on the internet.
Room smelled tobacco, carpet did not look so clean and the bed was hard as a rock!!! Way too expensive for what you get...sorry!
Staff was amazing very helpful and informed . Very happy with stay ! Beds very comfortable and was great to have free breakfast with boiled eggs and waffles along with other basic breakfast items. In great central location to Old port Montreal, The basilica,The biodome, the downtown with the Jazz festival on. Park drapeau with shuttle to La Ronde amusement park etc. Metro just on the corner was a great choice . Worth getting the 2 or 3 day metro pass. Very happy with our first visit to Montreal. We will definitely be staying at this hotel when we return to see more of the city !
Overall very bad experience. In my booking I specifically asked for early check in as we were traveling by car. When I showed up at 1:00 p.m. I was told no early check in nor could they call me to let me know when my room would be available. Upon asking to park my car they said I could not unless I could wait until 5 pm to check in? How does that make any sense! Continued on and came back to hotel with my car at 5:00 p.m. Waited at the front desk for twenty minutes before it was my turn. Try to check in and room still is not ready. Nor could I get parking until my room was ready. Finally got to check in at 5:50 p.m. only based on me standing at the front desk waiting. Wifi connection in my room was barely there and turned off all the time. Whole time we were there only 1 front desk clerk to deal with the whole hotel. In my opinion a clear set up for failure. One clerk told management in front of me if things did not change they would quit! Hot water in our room only operated with a huge groaning noise from the pipes the whole time. Much more negatives to list but no more time to put towards a hotel who simply did nothing to accommodate me or make my experience pleasurable. Worst of all heavy renovations going on in the hotel and not stated in their write up. Overall, stay away!
