great, big apartament with all that is needed during the trip, everything was clean, very helpful and friendly owner, good location neat to the city centre
The Comfy Guest House is a home away from home. Wonderful to have the use of a full kitchen, and there's a full grocery store a block away. The shower was excellent: full pressure and plenty of hot water. A good mattress on the bed. The house is very secure. I felt both safe and welcomed. Can't imagine there's better value in such a convenient location. Highly recommended.
The linens (sheets, towel, facecloth) were not of the best quality and some new pillows would be a good investment.
night piece clean helpfulness of the owner
-It takes only one night then you will feel that you are in your home. -Mr Taher (the owner)is gentelman and he can manage his house in a perfect way. - friendly atmosphere.
Wifi didn't work for one day
Good facilities Clean Close to downtown Toronto Good staff
Mr. Tahir and his son are very kind and assistive. Good touristical help. I've booked room with shared bathrooms, what I don't regret at all, since the bathrooms are very clean and weren't busy. It's maybe the strongest mark in the guesthouse from my point of view, because I usually don't like shared bathrooms. I would surely go back there... and I would probably book another room with shared bathrooms. Good location downtown. Good kitchen facilities. Cozy Victorian style house.
Don't have any complaints.
Mr Tahir was very welcome and friendly since the first contact. Location is amazing, very central next to the Eaton shopping Mall, The Guest House is very simple place but extremelly clean, My bedroom was the pink room without washroom but wasn't a problem because all the time I needed washroom it was available, rules about silence and bad behaviour is very strong. I can't complain about Mr Tahir place and for sure I will stay again in his place if decide come to Toronto one more time.
nothing bad to say.
Perfect place to stay :)
The owner is extremely friendly. The house is nice and clean and in excellent position, in walking distance from Yonge Street.
Our room was super small, two people could barely move. The bathrooms have to be shared among too many guests, it creates lines in the morning.
Offer & arranged a pick up & drop off for the airport really helpful. And to leave our luggage in storage after checking out.
Room a little small but it was what was expected for the price & location.
Proximity to key places in downtown Toronto
the staff, the place in general
Nice tidy town house fairly close to the city, host was wonderfully informative of how to get around. We were allowed to drop our bags off an hour early which was so helpful. Lots of rules in the house but they are for your benefit so arguments there. Tahir was very friendly and considerate of his guests and went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice time it was very much appreciated!
The owner Tahir welcomed us and showed us the room, shared bathroom and kitchen. We only stayed one night, but were very grateful that he let us leave the car parked for the weekend. Enjoyed our visit, and would stay again. Just what we wanted - a place to sleep for a reasonable price, near the city center. This is a guesthouse, not a hotel, with travelers from various countries. We walked and used public transportation everywhere. Great location, quiet and safe.
The host was very nice and helpful.
The facility is not what we expected.
Our host Tahir was amazing. So hospitable and very quick to respond to any request. The guesthouse is just that. You shared house with other guests who thankfully were all friendly and didn't mind having a chat while using the shared kitchen. It was a safe and comfortable place to stay. I would definitely recommend it.
Only thing that would have been good to have in the guest house is laundry facility (though there is laundromat about 7min walk). Besides that it was all good.
Tahir kindly let us leave early.
We had the very pink room next to the kitchen with shared bathroom. It was very small for a double, noisy and not cleaned well. Bed was unstable and only had 3 legs, but Tahir said this was okay because he propped it up in the middle (He did, with bricks) When I brought up that we were not happy with the accommodation Tahir lied and said I was the only ever person in 6 years to complain (!) Tahir is well meaning, but became defensively confrontational when we politely asked to leave early. The place felt more like a hostel than house, with security camera inside, grubby surfaces, many all caps randomly highlighted signs. Fine for long term budget travelers, but not for a couple wanting a bit of 'guest house' down time. I do feel some other rooms would have been nicer here, and I appreciate it's low price, but what was offered us was below basic. I don't know how this place is rated so highly, I would recommend if you can afford the little extra to get a hotel or apartment that's a more comfy option, also in a better, more convenient, location :)
The manager Tahir was excellent, he was very friendly and helpful. On arrival he gave me some basic info and directions, when there was a slight problem with the lock on my bedroom door he fixed it straight away. The guest house and the rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable.
The wifi and the choice in tv channels could have been better, but if you're there to see Toronto then they don't really matter. With so many guests staying there fridge space was limited in the kitchen.
Free wifi, nice location and you are able to make your own meals in the shared kitchen
Its not a bed and breakfast. The room I was staying in was below the kitchen, any little noise could be heard louder than what is heard in the actual kitchen. Some guest refused to obey the rules, which means lack of sleep. My room was with en suite. The room was so dark, even with all lights on. Only the bathroom was well lit. During my stay, my room was never cleaned. Even though it states weekly clean. I had to purchase bathroom cleaner, as I like things clean. You have to ask for your towels to be changed.
The owner is very kind and the place is very quiet. I stayed in the 1st room on the right during 2 trips and enjoyed my stay thoroughly. The room/ washroom is both very clean.
The location is very sketchy at night time but I don't think it is dangerous. I was alone so I was quite anxious to walk home when it got dark.
the location, reasonable price
Stayed 7days.. no washing machine..
Nice and clean room, good location (close to public transit), no problem to leave luggage after checkout
Good location, the owner was very friendly and eager to help, you can even arrange for him to collect you. We were on the ground floor next to the front door and when we first arrived I was worried that it was going to be noisy, but it was actually ok, and we slept perfectly.
The room was too cluttered, there were too many chairs, desk etc for the size of the room and it was quite difficult to find space for two suitcase and to move around.
Extremely convenient location at edge of characterful Cabbagetown. Bikeshare bike docking station nearby, and OK public transport. Near a No Frills supermarket. Communal kitchen was maintained clean and tidy and was well-equipped. Friendly personal welcome by Tahir (though you must be there by 9 p.m. as he lives off-site - this meant I had to take a $60 taxi from the airport). Nice and quiet (I had a room at the back). Excellent wifi. Good value for money overall for my three nights there.
Bedroom window needed a wash (though I accept it's not easy to access it to clean it). My "Cleanliness" rating would have been Good, not Fair, if it had been. No smoke detector visible in my room. In Europe this would have been illegal. (There was a small fire extinguisher just outside the bedroom door, however). Mirror on wardrobe door was cracked - not unsafe, just unsightly.
Comfy guest-house is exactly what you would expect from the name. Its comfy, quiet, clean and affordable. Would definitely recommend staying here next time you are exploring Toronto :)
