Score from 62 reviews Very good
Good location. Close to water street and citadel. Easy walks within plenty to see and do. The desk was was great in pointing us where to go
Breakfast was comparable to a lot of chains I've stayed at but the room was a little uncomfortable. Would have liked the tv in the breakfast area.
The staff were wonderful...friendly and knowledgeable. The price was definitely right and the room was comfortable and clean...very small but the space was well used.
The computer was set in Korean so I couldn't use it well. It meant that I had to try and remember where each of the keys for send, forward etc were located...didn't always work for me and I never knew if my emails were send or discarded
The breakfast nook was bright and well maintained with great coffee and great fresh fruit salad.
The phone was broken. The radio/alarm was broken. Found a used facecloth in the bathtub on arrival.
It is not quite place to sleep.
It's not expensive
It's run down and not a great area
Rooms were small but adequate for our needs Breakfast was continental but choices were good and the fresh fruit salad was great Staff were excellent and couldn't help enough with information and offering to store our bags for a late evening flight
staff very helpful
limited space in parking
Location very close to very good cafes, diners and pubs. Good parking lot on site. Neighbourhood with character and colour. Very little auto traffic, safe streets.
The location was the best and the staff were friendly and helpful.
You had you pay more if you wanted a bath tub. Wasn't aware some rooms only had a shower.
The desk manager was very helpful. He made us feel welcome. Enjoyed our stay.
Close walk to downtown. Good quality for good budget price.
A bit of walking involved to downtown but free parking and more interesting neighborhood than most chain hotels. Free parking, helpful staff.
Some rooms are close to the reception area and can get a bit of noise. Rooms not large but adequate.
Bed was comfortable. Continental breakfast included in price was more than adequate.
Room was near the front desk. I could hear almost everything going on at the desk. The place is in need of a good repair person. Repairs to different things in the room was shoddy workmanship.
The personnel were friendly and helpful.
Our room was on the 1st floor, just down from the lobby. Between 9 pm & midnight, there was a lot of near non-stop talking/laughing between a couple of guys, one was very loud voiced. We had hoped to get an early start the next morning and ended up falling asleep much later due to that. Outer room Doors need better sealing especially on lobby floor.
I like the central location - an easy walk to the citadel and the waterfront. It is a quaint little hotel with lots of character. If you are looking for what the big chains can offer you, this is not the place for you. It was homey and the continental breakfast was adequate and gave you a chance to chat with other visitors. Pleasant atmosphere.
The room was quite small. Even though we weren't in the room very much, there was only one chair and it was very crowded. Don't know if all the rooms were the same size but this one was very small.
The location to downtown for the price was fabulous. Our walk to the citadel was less than 10 minutes and to downtown was only about 15 minutes. The room was very clean and was a good size. The man who checked us in gave us a very detailed description of things to do&see in Halifax. Other staff we saw were funny and very helpful.
The first night we stayed (stayed on our first night of 10 days in Atlantic Canada and the last 2) our room was next to the stairs. The head of the bed shared a wall with a stairwell and I had a horrible sleep. My partner didn't seem to mind or notice. The next two nights were perfect for noise level.
Staff very friendly, helpful.
Bed sank in middle. The frame needed to be reset. Sink/bathtub was not cleaned properly on third day.
the price per night was very good,
Centrally located in Halifax near restaurants, museum, Garden. Nice Continental breakfast. Good room and bed.
Carol didn't like stairs - 4 flights. Neighborhood was run down. Access to the motel is limited to one door. Parking was a short block away.
Location to city centre
The room being on the third floor with no elevator
The staff, the clean comfortable room, the location to everything downtown, the wifi service and the continental breakfast,
Not being able to stay longer.
Wifi and the bed were great
The stairs. Come on. We were on the 4th floor.
Nice breakfast area Good location to all Downtown attractions
Clean and comfortable room, good continental breakfast.
External appearance from West Street is unimpressive (looks rundown). I drove past the Inn, thinking it could not be the place I booked online. I was OK when I went in and checked my room.
Helpful staff. Close to laundromat.
Stairs. Generally location was a bit out of the way but attractions in Halifax are still within walking distance if you don't mind walking.
