Staff very friendly, helpful.
Bed sank in middle. The frame needed to be reset. Sink/bathtub was not cleaned properly on third day.
the price per night was very good,
Centrally located in Halifax near restaurants, museum, Garden. Nice Continental breakfast. Good room and bed.
Carol didn't like stairs - 4 flights. Neighborhood was run down. Access to the motel is limited to one door. Parking was a short block away.
Location to city centre
The room being on the third floor with no elevator
The staff, the clean comfortable room, the location to everything downtown, the wifi service and the continental breakfast,
Not being able to stay longer.
Wifi and the bed were great
The stairs. Come on. We were on the 4th floor.
Nice breakfast area Good location to all Downtown attractions
Helpful staff. Close to laundromat.
Stairs. Generally location was a bit out of the way but attractions in Halifax are still within walking distance if you don't mind walking.
front desk staff - great advice and help; knowledgeable about the neighbourhood; room was clean
a little nervous walking in the area; breakfast was poor - Wonder Bread!! coffee was not very good; no eggs offered; plastic wrapped cheese slices hiding in fridge; i got jam-sticky fingers when i picked up the butter packets- meaning someone had already handled it
Staff were great ambasadors for thier city.
Room's cable connection was poor. Not a big deal.
room was adequate in size lots of hot water in shower free parking good variety at continental breakfast 15-minute walk to restaurants on Quinpool Road
somewhat shabby area of town no extra space in room
The bed was comfortable and the decks were great
Breakfast was minimal
Friendly greeter, they gave our room away but upgraded us
Room wasn't quite ready for guests, shower door off and in bedroom, hole in entry wall, shower head possibly clogged as it had barely any spray (something going on more than just being low flow)
Location close to Common and Citadel.area to west has lovely heritage houses which are being gentrified.
Area to south pretty rundown. Got off airport bus in Gottingen St and walk was short but not pleasant, in contrast to walk north or west from hotel.
Convenient location about 15 mins walk from downtown Halifax, in a quiet area. I'm also a sucker for all wooden hotels that have the 'haunted' vibe, so this was excellent. The room was HUGE and had a microwave, which was a good thing. Wifi was a bit weak but it worked so no complaints here.
The room service could've been better. They forgot to leave the bathroom floor towel once, the other day they didn't make our beds. The biggest issue was perhaps with lack of elevator and having to carry our luggage up and down, which wasn't convenient at all. But that's about it.
Location, very friendly staff, breakfast had fresh fruit
Very convenient location.
The carpet in my room was sticky throughout the entire room. And the breakfast area had many flies, which made breakfast somewhat off-putting
Stuffs were friendly and great service.
Good size room very clean
Foam overlay on mattress does not make a hard bed comfortable. Staff were not up with local restaurants closed on sundays. Flies in top floor
Location and advice on tourist sites
Free parking lots; room OK, walking distance to downtown acceptable.
The vending machine was such as loud that you could fall out of bed.
The building itself was interesting and close to Citadel, surrounding recreational areas (parks), and the Armoury. Free parking in the back. It is an accommodation useful for a quick stop.
The location looks like it is in an area that is under (or needs to be) redevelopment. There is nothing around this area that is appealing at this time. There are no public transportation close for those that cannot walk downtown. Downtown may be accessible for those who are willing to walk but not for others who struggle. There are many entrances into the building which is confusing since it is located off a side street. There are no elevators in this building and we felt bad for those that had to lug their luggage up the stairs. Also, the rooms cannot accommodate persons in wheelchairs etc, as the doorways and hallways are too narrow as well, no elevators. Finding breakfast was challenging as signage was poor and the way down to the basement was a maze. The breakfast itself was lacking in options and hot items. Our room was marginally clean. We found hairs on the carpet (blonde - we are not), the room smelled off, the walls are thin and we could hear our neighbours walk above us (thankfully they were not annoying). A microwave fridge and ice bucket was provided but there was no ice available and the fridge took up valuable space in the already small room. It would have been better if there was a coffee maker and tea available as it would have been more useful in this setting. The staff seemed alright although the clerk that showed up for his shift when we arrived did not want to do his job and help us. So staff friendliness is marginal for us.
Neighborhood has friendly and excellent up and coming trendy establishments to explore for food and drink experiences.
The price is reasonable.
Having to walk up 4 flights of stairs to get to our room.
Great staff, great price, decent clean room. Within walking distance of downtown.
Distance to downtown (but can't complain as the price was far less than the downtown hotels). Breakfast was just ok.
