Staff very friendly and the breakfast was A1.
Our room had a duvet cover which is not really acceptable for guests. I understand the problem the polyester filling balled in the middle of all the sewed blocks. We laughed and showed the staff. Suggest new duvets of better quality.
Price was low, so we weren't expecting perfect, but we got upgraded to larger bed in a quiet room. Breakfast was great. I'm gluten free and was still able to eat enough. It was excellent and we will definitely stay there again.
The TV was old school, but this is the only part that only slight brings down the rating.
The hotel was clean
The front desk clerk who check is in was very ignorant
liked friendliness of staff. The cleanliness of the rooms even if it could do with updates our stay was great and would recommend to friends and would stay there again.. The staff accommodated all our requests. Thank you Ladies.
That the beds were double and not Queen.
No restaurant; could not access pool
The breakfast was much improved from the last time we stayed there.
Location was easy to get to, breakfast was fine, room was comfortable and quiet. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful. They upgraded my room from downstairs so I didn't have to lug my bag up and down.
Location close to downtown and relatively close to airport information from staff on Moxham's castle friendly staff, loved Cape Breton and the Celtic Colours. Plan to return and would stay again
no elevator, not a big deal but had to haul a large suitcase up a flight of stairs
Awesome bed! So comfortable! Also loved the breakfast and the environment.
All good on this trip.
Hot coffee for breakfast.
I was trapped outside in the hotel courtyard. The door locked behind me. There was a notice explaining dog owner rules, so it was there for patron use. There were no notices stating it was locked or how to get out of the courtyard. All entrances were locked and my room key did not open them. After spending time checking for other exits and banging on the door, another patron saw me and was able to open the door to let me in. I reported my experience to the front desk. The staff at the desk said she would put in a work order. I left 26 hours later and there still was no notice or any changes to the locked door. Also both of the beds in my room were lumpy and uncomfortable.
staff was friendly and did try to make other arrangements for me in a newer part of the hotel. I do believe that this place has really great people working there and that the newer rooms are worth the price.
The room was just unacceptable. The room was in an old part of the hotel, and the beds where old. The sliding door to the bathroom was off the track. It was just nowhere near worth the fee being charged on the site. The room I was given was not a 3 star room, it was closer to a seedy motel.
Room did not have a mini fridge. Bathroom needed upgrading. Definitely not worth the rate charged.
I needed a place to stay on short notice, and the price was right.
My booking didn't show up in the system, so I ended up getting a different room for more money. Hotel was quite dated, I wouldn't stay there again unless I had no choice.
The response by one of your staff. Because I went online and got a good price my wife asked the lady if you gave a discount for CAA she in a snotty voice said no you already got a good discount. Also she botched the bill when leaving.
The staff were really helpful especially Marg, Ester, lily and Tracey who were all great when we had had a crisis.
Would prefer proper cutlery and crockery.
The location is excellent, we have stayed there before. We really liked the restaurant there which just closed. The staff are terrific and feel like family. We will stay there again but will ask for a room where the window will open. The lady attending the Continental Breakfast on our first morning, (Pat), was wonderful to chat with and must be a great asset to the facility. It was a treat talking to her and we will look for her the next time we visit.
When we opened the room and unpacked, we found a hamburger in store packaging, in the fridge. The plug in the bath would not close, it did not look too clean. There were guests a few doors down who left a barking dog in their room. At 3:11 AM, some guests wer in the patio outside drinking beer, they might as well have been in the room. We did not say anything about the bath tub or people on the patio, not worth the hassle.
Nice room. Good breakfast.
No onsite restaurant. Hearthstone Inn has great food just down the street.
Ancient rooms, uncomfortable beds, only good as a place to sleep then GTFO
location breakfast included
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Ver clean.
It would need a little upgrade in bathroom. Room key doesn't work very well.
Outdated and "bruised" architectural finishes and furniture. Selection at the breakfast.
Decent continental breakfast
Terrible beds Rooms were so smelly we had to buy an air freshener Our tub backed up and filled with black crud Mold in bathroom and around hot tub
Only the 2 'managers' of the hotel
Hotel: All the other people are: 'I dont know, ask others', they can only to resolve the basic questions. I ask help to resolve a problem with a credit card cause me by them but after 10 times I was forced to resolve the problem by myself. The rooms have the windows locked like the jails, the smoke smelling air is incorporated in the moquette and you cannot change it; the reply was 'use the fans' ...crazy! Breakfast is the poorest I never seen at all. You must use plastic utensils, the knife is curving just to cut eggs.. The butter is unknown, only margarina like in the Jugoslavia in the '60. They self prepare only the eggs, all the rest is takes by the cheapest local supermarket The price must added with the local taxes so it's not 110 can$ but 129 can$, 110 is only a trick to sell better but it's false: in all other parts of the world if you pay 129 to an hotel the price is 129 not 110, and 129 it's really too much for this hotel. Sydney, Nova Scotia: the downtown looks like a periferial area of an industrial town. Nithing to see, nothing to visit. In a 4 day i've never seen 1 painting or a sculpture: absolutely nothing. They try to 'sell' the pipes and the celtic story but pipes are of Scotland and the Irish people are in Ireland; here the must to promote the canadian story but.. where is it? Eating: they have only an stockfish-clone (the haddock) you can eat all around the world; -little- pieces of crabs are called 'lobster' and they cost really too much (also there the usual trick '+ taxes' at the payment moment). However if don't agree you can eat an original fake-pizza called 'Napoli' made by an Irish people.. The beer is good but only the Irish (not canadian) one they give you if you ask a good beer. Sea: no beaches, no swim, no boat (the port called 'Royal' has only --5- boats for locals), no fishermen's boats.. only a flat panorama often grey by the rain.

I liked that the manager was quick to react to my request to have a much cleaner connecting rooms than I received at check in. The room smelled good, the carpet was clean. The manager quickly fixed the mattress which was off the frame. The staff was quick to address our concerns. The room was newly renovated, comfortable. The mattress was a bit hard. The location of the hotel was good. It was close to restaurants and other amenities. Had I received these rooms at check in I probably would have been very satisfied with my choice.
The rooms we were given at check in were extremely dirty. The carpet was stained, not cleaned. The rooms had an unpleasant smell. The door to our adjoining room was full of pop splatter and there was pizza slices in one of the fridge. The sheets had hair on the mattress. I was ready to leave that hotel. We had a 10 month old child with us and I was certainly not going to let him crawl on the carpet or stay in the room. I was very disappointed with Days Inn. I do not think I will book this hotel again. I am not sure what I will get.
