Rooms were modern and clean ,bed confortable.
Lots of people hanging out in the lobby ..they were the same group of peope all week. Not sure what that was all about .
Breakfest selection not great
Surprisingly upscale rooms
The room had been renovated very nicely. Nice new bed, Faux-wood floor laminates, and flat-screen TV. Bathroom was not fancy, but relatively clean. Staff was relatively helpful.
Parking area was cramped and adjoining corridors were musty and decayed. Shower pressure was terrible. Restaurant and room service were not indicative of the 4 star rating. Overall, not horrible, but not exactly upscale.
Good mattress. View was so so from 7 th floor. Staff were ok.
Not very nice view. Staff were sarcastic. Not patient. Our room was dusty, the coffee tray was dirty and had dirty napkins. Second day they didn't give us coffee at all. Bathroom: time for an update. No shower pressure. Toilet also need an over haul.
floors in room could have been cleaner
For the price it was very bad experience. Lots of gangs & seems a dangerous place to stay at. Stuff we're unprofessional & they always say there's nothing they can do about it
The location was very close to everything and the hotel was very clean
The front desk staff, except for one young lady, were not very friendly.
Located couple of blocks from downtown
Sorroundings and crowd
Short walking distance to downtown.
No hot water Staff incredibly rude Staff not helpful Ice machines broken Very overpriced for such a basic place
I liked the relatively inexpensive hotel rate and the good Internet connections.
The coffee maker didn't work in my room.
Hotel is very old , pictures in the website are misleading. The room we had was nothing like the pictures. Bathroom is very old , sink cold water doesn't work . Lobby bathroom was so bad. Very very overpriced for a hotel with this quality . Will never get back to it or recommend it .
The man taking our booking was extremely helpful. He went beyond the call of duty to recommend and hi light. A map and a mental picture of expectations. The location was walking distance to old montreal and the main street. Restaurants taxis and buses as well as parking for our car was all right there. This is the first time i review any thing but this hotel inspired me. The beds were comfortable the windows had a great view. The pool was fun the convinience store gentlemen was friendly. The food at the restaurant was delicious. I had a great experience and clean.
wish trip was longer. wish i would have had the free expreso wish i can come back soon
the location was perfect , the room was clean ,
i had to wait till 3 oclock to get the room , we had to take teh car before 1oclock and other hotels give more time to take the car from parking , the staff was not very welcoming
We enjoyed our stay and would stay again next time. Our room has 2 Queen beds clean, comfortable and "no carpets" in the room; with nice new laminate foors. Also with a nice, clean heated "outdoor" pool that we enjoyed well. Also the indoor parking came handy. It also has a restaurant with a buffet breakfast with good selection. Overall Hotel Espresso is a great hotel also well located in downtown Montreal.
Outdoor pool, staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly
Pool water was a bit dirty... Needs better filtration so water isn't so cloudy
Staff, location and price
They did not have my reservation after booking off of booking.com and I did receive a confirmation that we had one. We luckily still got a room however I felt as though we got stuck with a room that they keep for these situations. Room was fair
Location, atmosphere, cleanliness, price. Just everything.
The room is large, and wifi works for the first 3 day during my stay (doesn't work on the 4th day tho). good location (close to the green and red line metro and 747 airport shuttle)
There is always a weird smell in the room, i don't know if that's from the detergent they used or someone is smoking... (tho it's really a non-smoking room.) and the sound insulation is terrible. I can hear everything outside... and the quality of the residents seems to be... how should i put this... like people staying there are a bit weird... need to pay extra caution. The facility is old, and the floor is not cleaned that well.
Not as high-end as expected for the price.
Close to many amenities, clean rooms, very helpful staff and the pool.
Suggestion: Lots of people like to have breakfast on site these days when travelling therefore included in hotel cost and not extra, but was not an issue for me.
Overgrown weeds on the side of the hotel.
Room is large.
Very noisy. It seems like rooms can hear each other. The sound of door-closing is so large that I was woken up almost every night around 3-5am. They should upgrade the door for sure. The gym is located in the basement and smells very bad. I tried to use, but could not bear the roten smell. In fact, it did not seem to have people use it at all.......just a showcase?
