Room not to our expectations

We were very impressed with the renovations at this hotel. The room was immaculate and trendy. The public areas were fresh and neat. Though this building is at least 30 years old, it looks and feels like a brand new construction. The location is just a 5 minute stroll to the hustle and bustle of Ste Cathrine's, but just far enough out of the fray to be a peaceful oasis.

The indoor parking, while convenient, secure and plentiful seemed a little steep in price. If you're there on the weekend and don't mind a little walk, scout for street parking

Room is fantastic - king-sized bed and big TV. Wifi connection is great. As well the location is great.

Parking was under the hotel so it was very accommodating.

We paid extra for king beds which we did not receive, we were still with 2 doubles in each room. We also paid for the parking when we booked the hotel but they charged us again once we got to the hotel.

The beds were hard. They gave us the wrong room. And the place was filled with an awful sci-fi convention.

We had a deal at 79.95$ for a night which is really rare for downtown montreal. The room was really clean (no carpets!) and the staff was friendly. Great value, good location.

The exterior of the building is not very appealing. The parking is expensive (22$)

Room wasn't cleaned when we arrived, wasn't cleaned well the next day, dirty towels were still in the bathtub, and housekeeping forgot to put tea and coffee and shampoo, room was in bad condition, walls were peeling and plugs were missing. 1St unsatisfactory stay at this hotel

Location was perfect to enjoy the city.

Some repairs had not been made to the hotel and left the bathroom looking unfinished. Also, parking rates were higher when we get there than when we booked because they supposedly "recently went up in price".

I really liked our room. they had obviously been redone recently. The price was right.

The lobby and other areas of the hotel were run down. They turned a 3 star into a four star without making many changes.

Hi I really like your new improvements.I liked the new improved vanities in the bathroom.The new beds from last year made a difference too.As the pillows have all been updated.Great support especially for a bad back. and Just the furniture and the knock off post modern art even added to the class of your establishment.Good job guys.It's new modern trendy and fashionable like the manager and staff.Great job to the owner and all the staff.I am more then happy to offer my opinion and everything was great!

Room was good for price.

Restaurant service was terrible. We were ignored, had to get things we needed for an a la carte breakfast from the buffet, menu items did not come out exactly as ordered, waited 20 mins for a bill, finally asked for it, and there was a tip included! Some staff seemed cranky and rude. Left room, when coming back found hotel door wide open...called front desk and they said we probably forgot it, I asked if there were any way to find out who's card was used last, they said someone would come up with a device. No one came...nothing was stolen from our room, but this incident could have been a major security issue. Oh yeah I was also told the computers in room were only for Internet signal, and response when I asked if a mouse could be hooked up was "you don't have a phone or laptop?" Ah, no that's why I booked a room, missed an exam so thanks hotel espresso. The next day there was a mouse, I thought great! Well the computer wouldn't go online, thanks to the repair man for telling me there was a business centre, that would have been useful information before I missed my exam. Some major issues at this place.

Good sized rooms, clean facilities, helpful and friendly front desk staff

Water pressure in the shower was terrible.

1. Not clean 2. BED BUGS!!! - be careful 3. Poor internet signal 4. Noise from other guests When we arrived we were sent to a room at the top floor and unfortunately the internet had a very bad signal in our room. We called front desk and they moved us to a room at the 5th floor. This second room was not as good as the first one, but at least we could stay connected - signal was still poor but we were able to connect. In our first night at this second room I was a victim of BED BUGS, which for me is a big deal, since I'm allergic. I woke up with more than 30 bites all over my body. Since I'm allergic, I carry my anti-allergics medicines with me. I've started to take it right away. Even so, I needed to buy medicine for the itches. I'm still recovering. The manager didn't charge the room and the parking for one night - the bug night. But we paid for all the other days and parking - which is very expensive: 22 dollars. When we arrived we were also informed that all the reservations made through Booking.com didn't have any breakfast included. Our experience with this hotel was a disaster. We do not recommend the Hotel Espresso in Montreal at all. Stay away from this place when going to Montreal. Remember: I'm still treating my allergic reaction to the more than 30 bites I got from BED BUGS there.

Bedding was not very clean...full of human hair

It is set right downtown;the people were very friendly and the hotel it is nice. there is espresso coffee in the reception, 24/7 for free. good buffet meals.

The background music perhaps should be turned lower in the restaurant, to create a much classic and pleasant atmosphere; other than that I would recommend this hotel.

The rooms are huge and the beds very comfortable. Convenient having fridge, microwave, and even Kuerig machine or PC in some rooms. Staff friendly and accommodating. Close to metro, buses and downtown shopping.

loved the hardwood floors,the bright washroom, quiet floor no noise from other guests,the room was very clean. this was the second time we stayed there,its right in the heart of everything

had a minor problem with the coffee maker and the bath tub drain. both problems very taken care of in a timely manner.

Its very conveniant the price are reasonable prices and the hotel employees are very friendly
