Toronto Plaza Hotel  

location, cleanliness, comfort and affordable price were the things we were looking for. we found these here.

the included breakfasts were scimpy but improved a little from the last time we stayed here. so easy to do a breakfast buffet that is awesome. hotel did not have our booking this time.managed to resolve the problem effectively. thank goodness they were not booked up.

The price wAs right and they had free shuttle service to from airport.

This hotel is disgusting. Comming from a person that has worked hotel and also stays in hotels frequently, I'd even say this hotel is worse than a Howard Jhonson. There were stains on the sheets as well as hair on the towels. Horrible location and horrible staff. Also, the deposit still has not been transferred back into my account, so I've begun to believe that's a scam because Ive never had to punch my pin into any cardmachine and been told Ill be reimbursed. That should be a hold like any other hotel! Just awful.

Good price for room & breakfast. Shuttle to airport.

The Internet was down all morning & we had to print out a boarding pass and welcoming letter to China University. We also had to pay for ice & it was only available on the ground floor, and one of those two machines were down.

Close to airport as we were staying overnight.

In the middle of strip malls so unattractive but I wasn't there for the scenery, only to sleep.

rooms were comfortable and clean, staff very friendly and helpful. very affordable a big plus. good central location for most things in toronto.

hotel is old and needs some upgrading- bathrooms etc. guests were smoking in building. when front desk notified nothing was done to change this. continental breakfast was included with room but there was no food at the buffet. a breakfast buffet is easy to do and with a little imagination could have easily been fantastic. instead it was annoying. one had to ask if there was any food and with the exception of one employee, the others really weren't interested in providing anything. a beautiful old dinning room that should be open for all meals instead of just being used for a sad breakfast.

Price. Hotel restaurant did a reasonable meal.

Further from airport than I expected. In middle of nowhere. No restaurants within walking distance.

The room ordered was not available on late arrival, even though we had guaranteed with a cc. The whole place is dirty and tired. Even the coffee was horrible and you had to pay $125.00 for ice. Only in Lobby. Lots of smoking. Hot tub and other facilities closed

The sheets were not clean, I could smell cologne on them from the previous guests. There was a bug in the bed as well to make it worse. There was a half empty roll of toilet paper with no extra in the room. I had to run down housekeeping in the hall way and ask for extra toilet paper. I checked in at 3pm and left at 9:30 to go to another close by hotel. (Once seeing the bug in the bed) I was extremely disappointed with the accommodations at Toronto Plaza Hotel.

The lights barely worked in my room.

breakfast only available 7-10am. most hotels have at least to 11am. facility looking tired. the bathroom fan timer plate was askew.

First they did not have the reservation that I made through booking.com, I made weeks in advance. Checked on it myself day before it was there, took forever to get it straightened out. They made me feel like I didn't have reservation and was just trying to get the room for a cheaper rate than they charge, it was embarrassing. When I checked my reservation online forgot to put papers back in my briefcase, if it wasn't for the fact I put conformation number on my phone, there was no way of proving I had made my booking. Room was dirty & tired looking, stunk. furniture burnt everywhere. My blanket on bed under comforter there was nothing left of it, full of holes wore right out. Bathroom floor was sticky wouldn't even think of bare feet. couldn't have a bath didn't trust tub, shower curtain was dirty. This was a room they charged me $95. dollars a night for, I wanted a smoking room. They told me this room was a upgrade from my original room, I switched rooms after fiasco checking in. Continental breakfast what a joke,, bread and packets of grape jam or marmalade, margarine in a bowl just packed with crumbs was disgusting, and a couple of cereals rice crisppys and corn flakes that was it. My girlfriend and I went to the restaurant in hotel to eat dinner waited 15 minutes for waitress nothing I finally had to go to the bar to ask for her. It was empty no need for that. Took her another 5 to 10 to finally come over and take our drink. She strolls back to take food order. Girlfriend ordered wings 15 minutes later she drops wings in a basket no cutlery, napkins, plate for bones nothing,, looks at me yours is coming. As we were commenting about her not getting anything with her food. My girlfriend did not want to start eating dinner alone and wanted to ask for cutlery and napkins. Another 15 minutes goes by finally she brings my food. We told her we were not pleased with the non professional service and meal.

The lobby was nice

The hot tub and sauna were out of order The hallways reeked of cigarette smoke and marijauna, despite the hotel stating a no smoking policy the paint was peeling off the ceiling in our room there was no plug for the bath tub, so having a bath was not an option There was no reading material in the room regarding the hotel amenities or area restaurants attractions etc. I will not go back.

Drove straight passed it signage poor. Basic restaurant staff slow and couldn't understand what they were saying. Probably would choose another hotel on main route

Older property, not fancy but comfortable, reasonably priced, perfect for our needs.

The pay per view didnt work in the room and my daughter and I coudnt rent a movie/tecnician said it was becasue the rooms were being updated with flat screens (ours still had the old style tv) poor communication with staff/front desk when I called down a few times/bank machine in lobby was out of order the entire stay and I couldnt get money out for snack machine as the main restaurant didnt open until 11 each day. But then I noticed the snack machine was 95% empty anyway and did not get re-filled the entire time I was there
