Staying at Hôtel de l'Institut was an exceptional experience. The rooms were quite luxurious for the price and the bi-lingual staff were helpful and accommodating. As for location, we enjoyed the energy of Rue St. Denis at night and were able to take in the historic sights of Old Montreal during the day (a mere 20 minute walk). On site parking and close proximity to the metro were also pleasant conveniences.

Staff was incredibly kind, accommodating, and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic! Good value and a very good location. We had to change our reservation several times (added a person, added parking, removed a couple nights) and the hotel accommodated this easily, and communicated with us frequently. They also made it easy for us to arrive late.

The staff was incredible - from the greeting at the main desk to the cleaning staff. I especially appreciated being able to use my rusty French without people automatically switching to English. Also as a grannie I couldn't get over how welcome my grandsons felt - people were unfailingly polite and helpful so that my grndchildren felt they had the run of the hotel and I felt so relaxed knowing that it was safe for them to wander. The meals were outstanding and other than the weird shampoo (it wouldn't rinse out) and the wiggly bathroom faucet the stay was perfect.

Great location. Staff excellent. Great breakfasts. Sadly the dining rooms were shut for the season, which we already knew, so we were unable to sample the reputedly excellent cuisine. Bedroom good and bed very comfortable. Bathroom a little tired and shower poor - the only negative of our stay.

Excellent service by all the staff. Otherwise we were very satisfied with our stay. Please thank all the staff who made it enjoyable. There were two observations about room 509:(I) it was a windy night and there was a beer can, or other loose object, rolling around on the steel landing outside the window, which we could not find as it kept us awake; (ii) the water pressure in the bathroom was so weak getting a glass of water was a major undertaking!

The hotel was very modern and sleek looking. The service was great and all the emlpoyees were very helpful and always pleasant. The best part was that it was right next to the metro, all you had to do was take 5 steps and you would be in the station able to go anywhere.

Everything about our stay was "parfait". The Institute's student staff were diligent and professional, the paid staff consistently helpful and the concierge service was the best we've ever encountered. No hesitation recommending this excellent facility. The restaurant alone is worth the visit and the breakfasts (included!) are beyond compare. Nothing, everything was excellent.

Good location, clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet limited. Lots of taxes to add to the room rate - not a flaw of this hotel alone. Not especially great value for money as facilities are limited.

My husband and I have just returned from Montreal. We stayed 3 nights and then 1 night at ithq, we had lovely clean and comfortable rooms with a view of the St Lawrence river and Vermont in the distance, and on the one night stay a view of Mont Royal with the illuminated cross visible at night. The convenience of having the Metro right there made it easy to have access to the entire city. The service was great, on the first stay we left a brand new jacket in the closet and it was there waiting for us when we returned 2 days later. Breakfast was a good start to the day. The hotel location is safe and near many restaurants and coffee shops, and boutique'S. We highly recommend this hotel.

In an expensive city like Montreal this is a reasonable price to pay. The hotel is very modern and is part of a chef training facility. A short walk to shopping areas. The breakfast, which is included, was very pedestrian given the facility with which it is connected.

Best Best Best location in the City since the subway is on next door. Even the raining days, you won't get wet. Also, the interior design is on high end. Very contemporary. Wonderful stay experience there. Will go back again. Also, Price of England and his wife visited on here on June, 2011 also!!!!! (Also including free Wifi.)
