Score from 424 reviews Very good
The rooftop hot tub is wonderful with stunning views.
Information we were given from the (friendly)staff member who checked us in about restaurant serving hours did not match with what we were told when we arrived for a late dinner. Luckily the kitchen staff accommodated us and we were able to eat but we were charged extra for menu substitutions. This was a bit much considering we were given inaccurate information.
We loved everything about our stay at Deer Lodge. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing followed by some time in the rooftop hot-hottub. The sitting rooms and lounge were beautiful and very comfy. Only minutes away from Lake Louise we wouldn't want to stay any where else. We plan on coming back for a longer stay!
The restaurant and the cuisine is good
Couldn't sleep much because of noise from the old floors and doors. We can hear everything.
Food at restaurant good , lengthy wait for breakfast.
Very small rooms,no tea & coffee making in room, no t.v, noisy, bed uncomfortable, tiny bathroom, window would not close, dirty floor, foul odour in building.
This hotel doesn't have the view of Lake Louise but it is the next best thing. It is located directly behind the Fairmont and is walking distance to the lake and many trails. Also provides free parking for guests but can get quite full. Restaurant has a delicious menu but is a little pricey. It is cheaper than the Fairmont so great if you are on a budget but want to be in the heart of Lake Louise.
The rooms are a bit small and the beds and carpet need an upgrade, looking a bit tired.
The location and the quaint old building with it great views, sitting rooms and hot tub.
The cost of the food and drinks. It would be great if there was a cheaper and more casual option.
Great location..lovely old building
The risk of being mauled by a grizzly
We loved the quirkiness of this hotel. Fantastic location with views of the Lake Louise glacier. Lake Louise only a few minutes walk away. The most comfortable beds although in a very small room but this added to the overall ambience of the hotel. Great staff with a very acceptable and reasonable priced restaurant.
Absolutely NOTHING, even not having a tv in the room.
the warm and comfortable livifng room, and the sunshine dinning room and the nice little garden.
the bed should be a bigger one for couple .
I liked its close proximity to Lake Louise and a bit of rustic atmosphere.
- Over priced restaurant - Very poor quality wi-fi - Very small room - No microwave - The furniture looks very old. Not at all worth the money we paid for the room.
Location. Very close to LakeLouise.
Free wi-fi NEVER connected. Room on third floor - narrow stairs, no lift! Room extremely small and uncomfortable. Extremely expensive for amenities provided.
The Deer Lodge has plenty of old-world charm which we enjoyed. It is located within easy walking distance of Lake Louise which is a stunning world heritage site. It was an easy drive to a small but useful shopping centre. It had a restaurant attached so that meals were not a problem. Free tea and coffee we available for guests in a central area of the lodge until late morning. There was more than one piano available for guests to play on. There was a small power board beside the bed which allowed one of us to charge and use an electronic device at the same time - very useful when travelling all day.
There were no facilities to allow guests to make their own tea or coffee in their rooms nor a mini-fridge for small food items or drinks.
Beautiful old building with good public facilities. An excellent location. Very enjoyable dining. Pleasant, helpful staff.
Being spoiled Americans we did not like being on the 3rd floor with no elevator. The room was quite small.
Fabulous location near Lake Louise! Nice to take a morning walk to the lake before the tourists arrive. This historic hotel to my surprise, had a very nice restaurant/dining room. If you don't eat there, at least check out the charming lodge décor.
My single room was a bit drafty like others had mentioned.
This hotel has so much character. The views over the mountains towards Lake Louise are out of this world. Loved the roof top hot tub. The lounge was very comfortable to read and relax in after dinner. We slept very well after a day in the mountains.
Luxury hotel, very friendly employees, hot tub on roof, close to Lake Louise. Free coffee in the morning.
Rather expensive. No breakfast included.
The old log construction lodge is just down the road from the Chateau Lake Louise. The public rooms of the lodge are full of artifacts and history that make the place charming and cozy.
The room my sister and I shared was tiny with no place for our luggage. It looked out into the parking lot and was right near the stairs, which creaked with every footstep. No elevator meant we had to cart our luggage up two flights of stairs. When leaving we asked for a porter but nobody arrived. We waited ages for the breakfast we ordered and was dismal; cold poached eggs, tasting of vinegar. Fortunately our guests from England got a much better room that looked out at the mountains. Poor show!
The location. Bed was comfy.
Very noisy at night. No elevator for luggage. No TV. Bathroom really tiny. I feel bad saying negative things. It was okay. The dining room and fire were lovely. I just expected a better room for the price.
Location was very good. Hot tub was really hot.
The restaurant food was pretty average and the menu very limited. Our room was very small and the furniture was scratched . There was only one bedside table for 2 beds. The heating did not come on until late in the evening so we had to ask for a heater.
Location - close to Chateau Lake Louise and the Lake itself. Good location for trips into Banff, the Ice Fields Road and Jasper.
Room did not have any coffee making amenities, lacked a hair dryer and had no TV either.
Corner room with good views of mountains.
Room to small for king size bed.
Gave me a 20% discount on the room because it was so awful. Basically meant that breakfast was included in the price. Walking distance to Lake Louise was nice.
The room was horrible, very small, no air , thread bare carpet no place to put luggage. It felt like a prison cell. The quality of the room for 179.00 was awful. I complained when we arrived but the staff said they were full.
Girl on check out was really nice
Girl on check in not at all welcoming. Room was awful, empty water bottle left in cupboard where glasses were kept & dirty tissue under bed. Certainly not worth the room rate charged. No tea/coffee, bin or tv in room. No extractor in bathroom. No safe as mentioned in welcoming book. Compared to my sons room the room I stayed in was no better than a hostel room!!! No lift, this should be clearly advertised.
Not enough staff.Room was not ready on time.
