The ground floor level was excellent, lounge, bar, restaurant would not fault it.
The bedrooms very pokey, washroom tiny, heating far to close to the beds, windows rotten. They need re decorating & up dating sooner rather than later.
The restaurant was acceptable and the staff in there, pleasant.
The reception staff were unwelcoming and rude. The room was appalling. It was so small you could hardly move around, décor very shabby, no accessible power points in bedroom. Bottom of bath stained. Window would not close, frame rotten, so drafty at night.
Services were professional.
Every thing! But location is good!
Warmth of character to this place. Liked the quirky style and easy wander to Lake Louise shoreline. Hot tub has a great view.
Location excellent; staff very helpful
Rooms were very small and no hairdryers available in bathroom. Party of people started playing music at 2am - and very noisy not appreciated.
The location is very good for Lake Louise, only a few mins.walk.
The room we stayed in was a double room with two beds which were very small. The room itself was the smallest I have ever stayed in.Bathroom was dirty and basic. Everything was old and worn out.
Loved the location and open areas especially use of Lady Agnes room and fireside seating in lounge.
The fact that our bathroom sink was not cleaned daily.
The lounge with fire, food in restaurant, location, hot tub
No coffee/tea making facilities in some rooms
location, the nice rooms next to the reception
stinky room, beds not comfortable, old furniture, stinky carpets, no good wifi
Relaxed stay with excellent food and wine
Rustic yet comfortable. The fireplace in the sitting room was great.
Morning waiter was not attentive.
Location is excellent, great meal choices with the two restaurant options, and the rooftop spa was nice.
Tiny room, not much room to move, fairly dated, and did get quite stuffy without the window open.
Modest lodge next to Chateau Fairmont, interesting for history and decor. Good food.
Small room - but adequate.
Very nice located, only some minutes from Lake Louise. Rooms are cosy. The lounge and the fire place are lovely
Wifi fell out from time to time
Easy walk to Lake Louise, friendly staff.
Facility showing its age, third floor room, no elevator, old, and very dark.
Simple, quiet, loved Lake Louise in the distant, close to the lake.
The water system, lack of control of hot and cold water while in use.
Very close to Lake Louise and we were able to enjoy the lake without the hassles of finding scarce parking. Nice rooms, towels, linens, beds, toiletries. Our room had a balcony with a view of the mountains and river. Strong WiFi reception.
Staff at check in was kind of rude but the staff at check out was nice
It is located within a short walk of Lake Louise which is it's only virtue.
If Deer Lodge were located any where else it would be out of business. It is an over-priced dump that claims charm, but is disappointing in terms of cleanliness, comfort and service.
Proximity to Lake Louise is excellent. Very easy walking distance.
Rooms near staircase suffer from excessive noise from other guests, Wifi was unbearably slow and unusable. Room was extremely small with sloping roof so my tall husband had to crouch to
Tiny room and tiny bath. No TV. Thin walls.
Deer Lodge had a rustic feel about it; whilst still providing all the amenities expected of a modern hotel. Hotel was located within close proximity to Lake Louise 10 minute walk. No elevator at hotel so could be a problem for less mobile guests
Location, room, hot tub. wonderful!
surly reception staffer who lied when we asked if we could get a room with a good view, saying she was putting us in a room with one of the better views in the hotel (our room overlooked the road and trees instead of the copious mountains all around the hotel). Unnecessary and irritating (especially since the Deer Lodge was our splurge on this trip).
A building that has matured over the years without taking away the charm of this older building, no lifts or TV not a problem, as we where there to enjoy Lake Louise, staff friendly and accomdating, especially when we found the restaurant full, they managed to make a space for us, we are planning to stay again on our return journey, so this should speak for itself.
