Enjoyed the Deer Lodge restaurant with its gourmet food and relaxed, homey atmosphere.
Nice and close to the lake, good food at the restaurant.
Tiny room, hot tub wasn't working, no television in the room, the walls were paper thin and we could hear people stomping around above and beside us all night, and the hotel smells like a hospital.
The ambiance in the great room at Christmas was probably the best feature of this hotel for me along with the location. This location is just a short walk to Lake Louise.
We booked this hotel exclusively because it featured a roof top hot tub. We called the hotel an hour before arrival and were informed that it was not working. From what we saw it had not been working for several days. While it is understandable that things break, I think guests should be compensated when the facility is not as offered at time of reservation.
Love historic lodge and location
Noise of guests after 10 PM Thin walls.
This was our second stay at lake louise and we think it is the most beautiful place on the planet
no tv but its not a big deal
Lounge with fireplace
No hot tub. No discount for this disruption has been provided
Beautiful building, amazing location right next to the Chateau, nice fire going in the lobby, very friendly staff. All in all, it was an ok place to spend the night, but don't know if I'd consider going back for the price.
The check in time was already late enough (4pm) but we weren't given a room until 5:30. When we finally got into the room, it was tiny (not quite what the photos had shown) and the heat wasn't working. The heat was fixed quickly enough, but the wifi was also down, and the hot tub wasn't working either. Not quite what we were hoping for on our charming evening in Lake Louise.
Location close to Lake Louise, old style building, public living room, game room, laundry, nice staff
Noise level, no tv, coffee pot or microwave, shortage of supplying hot water and coffee in the morning. breakfast is pricey, long checking out waiting time
The location was fantastic
The hotel is in dire need of an update. The room we had was the size of a bathroom, dirty scuffed hallways, baseboards and furniture. The beds were hard as rocks with stained duvet covers. We complained and asked for a refund but the manager was not available so we had an upgrade for a ridiculous rate. This is not a 3 star hotel The hostel rooms are nicer than this. We could have stayed at a nicer 4 star hotel just down the road for the amount we spendt. The hot tub also was not running and bring your own coffee maker, glasses etc. nothing is provided.
we were welcomed to our room with two lindt chocolates and a sweet card to welcome us back! The hot tub was broken but we got to go to the spa at the chateau instead!! A pleasant surprise. Staff was super friendly!
long line and wait time to check in and out, the bath tub while charming it would be good to have a real shower head not old fashioned, coffee was all out in the morning and no travel lids so we had to ask - had tea instead, other guests were overly loud as paperthin walls - maybe have a quiet rule
The location is great, the building is beautiful, the fireplace area is truly relaxing and rustic. The staff kinda tried to make our time enjoyable after some unfortunate events.
When we arrived we found out the hot-tub was broken. The heating in our room was not working properly while it was -28 outside. It is an old building that probably needs a lot of maintenance, but it shouldn't be the guests that have to notify the staff that something is not working when paying over $250 a night.
We love the sitting in front of the fireplace at the lodge; it is next to the Chateau and an easy walk to the lake so you get the benefits of Lake Louise without the hordes of tourists.
Hot tub was broken while we were there; we find the food and wine/liquor quite expensive. Wine is marked up 4 to 5 times from the storee.
Location & history The perservation of the old hotel The meals we had were excellent Super menu
there is no extra ventation in the bathroom It is needed
Plumbing, water going hot and cold while in shower. Using the vacuum cleaner at 09:00 making a noise, food expensive.
The bed was way too small for two people, and not comfortable. The room was also pretty small, shower, sink and toilet were leaking. Sound insulation was terrible too. I wouldn't stay there if I were you, I would go to Lake Louise Village much better options there
The bed was comfortable except the one blanket they gave must have weighed 20 lbs and was impossible to keep on yourself because it was to hot and heavy. The staff was okay.
I didn't like the room at all. It is the ugliest room I have ever stayed in for the money you charge. The no TV in the rooms really dissappointed me. Ithe was so hot in the room that I could barely stand it. I also don't appreciate paying 20.00 for a hamburger and fries that I could have made better myself. I will not stay there again.
the hotel has good location, very close to the Lake Louise, you can walk to the lake. Maybe the closest except Fairment. The building is classic and historical and comfortable to live.
restaurant design - Some of the staff were very nice and helpful in terms of recommending all the fun things that could be done at Lake Louis area and Banff.
- the menu had names which did not reflect the actual food. that was confusing. - The rooms had no Television sets, and for a young couple on a leisure trip, that sucked - The lady who booked us was grumpy and could not even spare a smile, and intentionally did not give us the free discount voucher available to guest who want to ride the Gondola
Location, only 5 mins walk to the Lake
The rooftop hot tub is wonderful with stunning views.
Information we were given from the (friendly)staff member who checked us in about restaurant serving hours did not match with what we were told when we arrived for a late dinner. Luckily the kitchen staff accommodated us and we were able to eat but we were charged extra for menu substitutions. This was a bit much considering we were given inaccurate information.
We loved everything about our stay at Deer Lodge. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing followed by some time in the rooftop hot-hottub. The sitting rooms and lounge were beautiful and very comfy. Only minutes away from Lake Louise we wouldn't want to stay any where else. We plan on coming back for a longer stay!
The restaurant and the cuisine is good
Couldn't sleep much because of noise from the old floors and doors. We can hear everything.
Food at restaurant good , lengthy wait for breakfast.
Very small rooms,no tea & coffee making in room, no t.v, noisy, bed uncomfortable, tiny bathroom, window would not close, dirty floor, foul odour in building.
This hotel doesn't have the view of Lake Louise but it is the next best thing. It is located directly behind the Fairmont and is walking distance to the lake and many trails. Also provides free parking for guests but can get quite full. Restaurant has a delicious menu but is a little pricey. It is cheaper than the Fairmont so great if you are on a budget but want to be in the heart of Lake Louise.
The rooms are a bit small and the beds and carpet need an upgrade, looking a bit tired.
