Location, views, comfortable bed, lovely reception/lobby area
The bed in our room was very comfortable. However, the room was very small and the tiny bathroom was in dire need of updating.
The grounds are beautiful. Buildings well maintained. Great full breakfast included. All in all - a great and gracious hotel. A rare find these days. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Drain broken in the tub so couldn't take a bath No fan in the bathroom so steam set off smoke detector Wifi connection poor Expensive
The hotel and grounds are beautiful , creating a vision of the 1920's.
rooms were too small and overpriced
The building, The grounds, The Staff, Lounge areas, The room
The price was a bit steep.
The grounds are amazing and staff very friendly and helpful!
The seniors golf tour was taking place while we were there, so we were unable to golf, which was one of the main reasons we stayed there. I feel that should have been disclosed at the time of booking.
We had a family wedding at the lodge. It was a great facility..the cabins were great. The breakfast was fantastic and it was included in the price
Meal was great, beautiful old building, beautiful location
Small room, no bar to mingle, A/c was out due to hurricane Arthur
Room a little cramped. Quality of food in restaurant (at dinner) was poor. Although we booked 4 months in advance, we were not told that the golf course would be closed to residents for 3 days out of our 6 day stay - although one of the managers admitted that she knew this at the time of our booking. As a result, we had to drive about 35 miles each day to other courses.
Very beautiful location. Very good restaurant, both for breakfast and dinner.
Pillow very hard and high.
very beautiful room, great food, beautiful pool sauna and spa, staff very friendly and helpful
the bathroom in our room was extremely small ,the shower was just not nice
Views, site, staff, breakfast and overall quality of food in the dining room.
room too small and only one chair for two people...
Loved the entire resort. Wonderful cuisine, comfortable room and bed, helpful and outstanding staff at front desk, at restaurant, at the Aveda SPA. The outdoor heated pool is well maintained and relaxing. Better than most pools we have experienced in other 4 or 5 star resorts.
The toilette in the washroom was below standard height.
Everything was top-notch. Service excellent.
Second week in June and the place was virtually empty - occupancy had to be less than 10%. It was a strange atmosphere. We cancelled one meal because we didn't want to be alone in a huge dining room. The rates are way above market. The golf course looked good, but we didn't play it because the cost of rental clubs (old rental clubs) was too high and the only range was "use your own balls" and go collect them yourself! Of course -if you're a visitor, you would have to buy your own balls and then go hit them on the range, then walk all over the range looking for them while hoping someone doesn't hit you! I have travelled all over the US and Scotland and never seen that!
The dining room.
Room was very small. Had trouble adjusting room temp. to make it warmer. We are an elderly couple and getting luggage to room was awkward.Yes we had help but one was a young girl and the other, a middle aged lady. A place lake The Pines should have dedicated male bellhops.
Great location and amazing staff. The seafood at the restaurant is top notch.
To stay at an upscale place while visiting an old town with parents and kids.
There was no bar on the main floor. An evening event for family was missing - ie marshmello roast, music etc.
Beautiful building and resort surroundings
The room we had was very, very small. It felt crowded.
The food was fabulous and the property is beautiful.
Very dissatisfied with the room. No fridge so my drinks were warm and couldn't keep food. The tub was small and dirty. The room was very small and you could hear everything that went on in the hallway. Very annoying!
We enjoyed the distinct characteristics of the building, the furnishings and the beautiful views from the main building. Friendly and helpful staff and service.
The resort is beautiful, the room was nice. Would of like to of stayed for more then one night. Food was okay, little over priced and took alllllonnnnnnng time to get to our table
The staff was courteous, friendly, very helpful. Our accommodation was excellent-clean and well-appointed. Dining was also excellent.
There are lots of steps which can be a little iffy in wet weather.
I like the refurbished rooms and the new look, also the flexible dining room hours.
