We loved our breakfasts...perogies, sweets, ham, warm croissant breakfast sandwiches, tomatoes, yogurt, dried fruit, nuts, coffee, juices...yum! We didn't need lunch!
Barbara was an incredible host! She was so enjoyable to spend time talking to - it is so very evident that she loves inviting guests into her home! Breakfast was beyond incredible!!!!! We will definitively be back and will recommend that others stay as well!
Barbara is the wonderful host of this lovely B&B gem. She is so gracious and makes everyone feel at home, with generous hospitality and an amazing breakfast spread. Location is fantastic for wineries and/or downtown NOTL. Excellent wifi. We can't wait to visit again.
Barbara was a most gracious hostess. She was very welcoming. We all loved her breakfast. It was very European and very filling.
Enjoyed everything about Dorchester House. Had a super time there! Host charming , food plentiful and delicious and bed comfortable.
Liked everything about the stay. No complaints!
Such a warm and homey stay. Everything was perfect! Very nice quiet street!
I don't think anybody but I would give this a negative but me. There was too much yummy food. My husband and I are not big breakfast eaters. We were the only two people there and I was embarrassed that we left so much food.
Barbara is a wonderful host and made us feel most welcome in her home. The room was clean and comfortable and I would definitely recommend the Dorchester House B&B to anyone wanting a home from home to explore the Niagara area.
great service, amazing food.
Stay in Barbara's house is like stay in your grandmother's house. Hospitality is amazing and excelente breakfast. She gives to you great tips about the city
The room is a little bit small but very comfortable
Our hostess Barbara was a lovely individual who showed wonderful hospitality. Really happy we went with a bed and breakfast atmosphere than a hotel. Very warm and friendly and great food too. It was a pleasure to get to know the other guests as well when we sat around the table at breakfast. We felt like we were at home and when it came time to leave and Barbara was waving good bye it we actually felt sad and felt like we were leaving family behind.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Having to tear ourselves away.
Lack of immediate access to coffee in the AM
Everything - the food and hospitality were exceptional
Great conversation with owner, also a wonderful breakfast. Check out the peppers and maple syrup.
Dorchester House is just about 3 blocks from the main touristic street in Niagra on the Lake. The prorprietor is an outstanding host, and a more outstanding cook. Breakfast completely filled a large dining table and every item was special, local and fresh. Barbara W. is a caring and mindful hostess. This is evident from her welcoming disposition to the small details like high quality towels and washcloths in the bathrooms, and locally produced soap and shower products that are a cut above. And of course the breakfast. I took a phot of the spread and have been crowing to our friends.
Wish we had more time to spend with Barbara, maybe on the back patio, but we were in town to attend a wedding, so were mainly out and about. When we return to Niagra on the Lake, we will seek out the Dorchester House.
Barbara was a lovely host! She made sure we had a huge breakfast, even when we had to leave a bit earlier than the "official breakfast hour". We loved our stay here, enjoyed a house with genuine history and had a very nice talk with an exceptional lady. Would definitely come back.
The owner, Barbara, is charming, friendly and cooks a great breakfast. The bed was quite comfortable.
Lack of air conditioning. The room was equipped with a large circulating fan, which made the temperature comfortable, but it would have been nice if it were a bit colder.
This is a beautiful B&B in a very quiet neighbourhood, that is still only about a 20 minute walk away from the downtown hustle and bustle. Barbara is the most welcoming and caring hostess and her breakfasts are legenday. It was a pleasure staying at Dorchester House and we will definitely come back!
Barbara runs a wonderful independent B&B operation. The amount of magnificent food at breakfast should set you up for the rest of the day. Ideally located just outside Niagara on the Lake, which is a much better base than Niagara Falls.
Barbara could not have looked after us better & gave us a warm welcome. She was very helpful with info about the town & the area is a superb cook - top marks!
Room was a bit small but it wasn't a problem.
Comfortable rooms, delicious food and gracious and interesting hostess.
Host and breakfast.
Very lovely and comfortable though small room. We were in the smallest of the rooms and will definitely specify that we want a larger one next time. The hostess, Barbara, is so lovely and hospitable and very interesting. We loved our delicious breakfast and even more the conversation with her!
Although the accommodation is not large it is beautifully appointed with old and quirky furniture and fittings, it made our stay very comfortable
Charming, clean, friendly and great breakfast. Thanks you Barbra, we will be back and let everyone know where to stay!
