Didn't like basement feel to condo
Needs to be updated
Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Great price. Very clean. Amazing view. Kitchenette and full fridge was a great asset. Free parking.
A little difficult to find for first time travellers to banff.
Stocked wood pile upon request!
My stay was too short!
The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was almost the cleanest hotel room on earth, and everything was working in the apartment.
It is a little worn out in places. The door to my room had very obvious marks from a break-in attempt and had not been replaced. Some of the furniture wasn't as good as it once was.
We stayed one night only and loved this resort. Waterslides and indoor park makes this place super fun for kids. My kids can't wait to go back and stay more days there. I also really liked the kitchen of our room. It was full with cups, plates and all other cutllery. when we checked in, reception staff called after 10-15 minutes to check if everything was ok in our room.
the kitchen is well equipped
the mouse that was in the tub at 5:00 am. I understand, the hotel is so close the nature area but some caution is necessary to avoid this kind of inconvenient, because mouse can transmit disease
Great place for families and a nice location out of the main core of Banff.
Lovely outlook on to garden area - thanks for the snow. Helpful staff. Useful laundry and grocery store on sight.
Nice for groups!
Booked for 6 people, got 4 pillows
The fact the aqua center didn't open until 4 pm
Location and view
Old facility, needs upgrading. Extremely overpriced, probably due to the restricted competition enforced by the National Park.
kitchen size of beds size of loft unlimited bus and bus stop location location view from balcony hot tubs
no dishwasher soap no toilet paper no "do not disturb" sign provided and housekeeping woke us up at 9AM
Premium location. Far enough and close enough from Downtown. Lots of space (at least for a couple), could accommodate 2 couples or a couple with children.
The construction is odd at least for the type of cottage we stayed in. There were 4 units per building and the downstairs unit is right under entry/bathroom of the upstairs unit. Our upstairs neighbors woke up at 5AM every morning and were disturbing us without being especially noisy. Quite annoying as you can't really complain especially if the resort is full as they won't be able to move you.
The bed and shower were good. Bathroom clean
Chairs very sticky. Not cleaned. We had mice in the apartment and complained at the desk. Did not get any discount or other because we booked through booking.com . Very bad.
The beautiful scenery surrounding us. The BBQ spots for anyone to use.
We weren't given enough information upon check-in. We stayed two nights and didn't know how we should ask for cleaning/new towels. We didn't get any. We did get our bathtub to drain better after asking but the washroom fan didn't get fixed. The pull-down bed gave our 3yr old a rash.
I liked the setup of the room. We stayed in a loft... 2 beds upstairs, Murphy bed & couch downstairs.
I did not like that the description of the room was not clear as to where the room was located. We thought we were getting a chalet loft. I also did not like the hidden fees for extra people in the room. I searched for a room for 4 people, it did not state the rate was for just 2 adults. If it was, the room shouldn't have come up as available.
Enjoyed ourselves very much!!! Lovely location, courteous ,and helpful staff!!! Great attractions & services.
Pool facilities and indoor playground were great for the kids age 2 and 4.
Room was very dated, dishwasher did not work. Bed linens were clean but the rest of the condo was not great.
I was told there was a sofa bed in the living room, but there wasn't so I slept on the couch. In fact, there was a murphy bed but I wasn't told about it. I believe this resort is overpriced. But other than that it has all the basics.
fire place, balcony, kitchen
pillows were terrible
The room was very spacious and had everything that we could want in it. We had a nice patio with a spectacular view of the mountains. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would stay at the Douglas Fir again and would recommend it to friends.
We enjoyed everything about our stay and can't think of one thing we did not like.
The location is beautiful and we have been coming here for 25 years. It is time to update the furniture and bedding as it is very dated. Will stay here again but look forward to some updating when it does happen.
Pool hours are not great. Outdoor hottub is located in the waterslide area and is open only at 2:00. Should consider different hours during peak seasons. 9:00-9:30 everyday not just weekends.
Have stayed here before. Location is good as you are on Tunnel Mountain away from the crowds on Banff Avenue. Lodges are very comfortable and well-appointed. Everything you need really. Would highly recommend.
Other guests don't understand the parking instructions and park in the wrong spots!
I enjoyed the location and the amenities that come with the room
the one bedroom units have you facing the outdoors through a basement window atmosphere.
It was a fine room and a fine resort but it was a little pricey for what we needed.
Kept the outdoor facility/pool closed until 2pm in plus 25weather would have liked a sun deck
