I didn't like that your booking details referred to the 'total' price, however there were additional taxes applicable that were not disclosed.

The accommodation was fine.Staff great and the food in dr was excellent, as were the waitresses.

The room keys (cards) didn't work easily, and each one didn't work, selectively, so had to go back to mgmt to get both reset at different times.

It was overpriced! Service was poor, not at all friendly. Would not recommend it to any one.

The price was very poor for an off season. Service was ok but nothing that justified the price. The restuarant was ok but didn't justify the price. Other than beach location I was actually quite disappointed.

Cost of room versus quality of room, overpriced for the value. The rooms could use some updating. Showers are very dangerous, water temperature went from scalding hot to freezing cold several times.

I arrived late at night and left early in the morning so I don't have a lot of comments. The bed was very comfortable.

The beds were comfortable. Staff was pleasant.

It was far too expensive for what it was. The restaurant was really expensive with mediocre food. The showers fluctuated from hot to freezing. It needs a lot of updating and renos. It was also a bit noisy since it was right downtown.

My husband and I travelled throughout B.C. on our motorcycle during the past month. The driftwood inn seemed very shabby but we were tired and decided to make the best of it. The staff seemed very accomodating and I am in a wheelchair. The room was very run down with filthy carpeting. After enjoying some wine on the beach we returned to the room. We found blood on the underside of the toilet seat indicating exceptionally poor cleaning. We would have left immediately had we not have had a few drinks and it was now dark A cleaning woman came upon our request and wiped the blood off with a rag which she also used to wipe off the sink. For $130 it was not up to anyone's standards and I sincerely wish our money could be refunded.

The room smelled funny. Also, the shower kept going cold. Considering the amenitities, and room smell, this room at $129 was well over priced. It would be advised to reconsider this price as we paid a similar rate for a gorgeous suite in Whistler. The Driftwood Inn most definitely does not compare to the Edgewater Lodge in Whistler that also included a gourmet breakfast in the price. We felt let down and will definitely recommend to our friends, family and fellow travellers via online communication tools to avoid the Driftwood Inn.

The construction next door was right outside our room The room was in desperate need of some maintenance - chipped paint, lamp held together with duct tape, etc. No microwave Rather expensive. A slightly better motel in Gibson's was $30 cheaper Geneal scruffiness about the place

The price per room, was ridiculous. I would never stay here again, based on price alone. Over $129 for a ground floor, budget-motel room - at best. For a room like this "anywhere" I would never expect to pay more than $80-90 per night...at the most!! The Driftwood Inn needs to get a grip - we could get a 3.5star room, with far better quality, location and service in downtown Vancouver for less. Loved the town, loved the island, loved the location - but will not be staying here again for any reason; nor would I recommend it.

Several people arrived at same time to check in. I was in line for one half hour. Not a good start after travelling long hours.

The Driftwood is in dire need of a renovation. It is very tired looking and becoming grotty.....not very clean due to age of carpet, tile, moldings etc. Bed covers needed dry cleaning. Pillows were lumpy and needed to be replaced. Bathroom did not have a fan causing the room to feel damp after people showered. The bathtub was very scratched and we noticed several hairs in teh tub upon our arrival. Cleaning staff should check that their rags do not leave hairs behind.

This was at best a $70 room. It was uncomfortably hot in the room, even with a fan. The bathroom was outdated, with a poor job of caulking, not to mention mold on the floor beside the tub. In the restaurant, it was equally disappointing. An inexperienced waiter, The prime rib was less than a quarter inch thick, tough, and appeared to have been heated in a microwave.

The photos on the website show sea views but only four rooms (two on the ground level and two on the second floor) have sea views. The other rooms all face the parking lot and the windows are at street or walkway level giving no privacy to the room. Our room had a kitchenette and faced the sea but the room had two walls of brick and was very dark. The desk and dressing area was dimly lit by one low wattage bulb in a lamp and you could not see well enough to use the mirror or desk. The brick walls could be painted white and a large mirror added to reflect light back into the room. This room was $189.00 (including taxes) and was worth $100 (includng taxes).

Being right next to the water and the boardwalk was excellent.

I didn't like we had such a small coffee maker. I didn't like to have to sit on the bed to watch the TV, because of where the clothes rack was positioned. A flat screen put on the wall beside the sliding door would have been a better position for the TV, and then it could be adjusted to where we were sitting in the suite. We also didn't like the fact there was no fresh air allowed into the suite when we were sleeping, so it made it very stuffy and hot.
