I like being close to where I can hang out near by to everything I like to go . Smoke detector was disconnected from the ceiling & left on the top of tv stand. The shower head wasn't working properly. The window should open .

Friendly staff. Great location. Good price. If you don't want to spend much and have reasonable confort I do recommend. The shower (sometimes too hot or too cold) and the tv remote control was not working well.

When we first arrived we were greeted nicely. The room looked clean enough. Checking out was simple, fast and easy. The area was nice because it had a lot of different variety of restaurants to eat and close to metro subway. The area had a lot of beggars on the street and there was quite a little bit of unecessary graffiti on the buildings.

The price is resonable for students and backpackers. The location is quite good, so many restaurants around there.Just few minutes to walk to the metro station and central station which can take the 747 heading to the airport.. The service is quite good, so patient and nice in the chatting. there is no doubt that will come again. A little bit noicy for me since I can here the conversation from next door.

We have stayed at this particular hotel 3 times before and each time the experience has gotten worse and worse. The only good things about this hotel are the facts that its cheap and the location is great and the parking around the corner is secured. What didnt I like? Well for starters, the staff are rude, the rooms are quite filthy, parking is inconvenient as its 5 minutes around the corner, and nothing is ever stocked up. (Ie: toilet paper, hand towels, towels) On this particular visit, nothing was wiped down, the beds were not changed, there was garbage left under the beds and the heat in the room was un-bearable. We found a package of un-eaten cookies under the bed to which were sitting there at least a month due to the cob webs on the package. If you want a cheap hotel in a great location than this is it. But next time, for an additional $20 I'm pretty sure we're going to stay at a Motel 6 or a Comfort Inn in which parking is on site and we don't have to deal with the negative aspects of this particular hotel where the staff are rude and un-friendly and the rooms are filthy! Never again will we stay at this hotel or even reccommend it.

can't beat the location!....right above the Latin Quarter (rooms literally look out onto it) and close by the metro, you're within a short walk of bars, pubs, clubs, Rue St. Catherine's, University Campus', downtown and Old Montreal rooms are a touch dated, and a little drafty if the cold bothers you, but cheap and clean, besides who spends much time in their room?

Great location. In the very core of Montréal and so near of the central métro station, including the bus terminal of the bus from the airport. That place is perfect for a budget location in the core of Montréal. Perfect Wi-Fi connection in the room. It is clean and offers full tv channels in the room. And it has a fridge Incredible place for the price it charges. Nothing. I hope that my assessment will translate at a 10 on your scale.

Decent hotel, providing all the essential facilities in a good location and a good price. Very good value for money. We stayed there on a Saturday night to take a first of Montreal day and night life. The street where is based is ideal for that as there are plenty of restaurant and bars and close to the shopping street. We didnt have any noise problem or something, our sleep was good. Next time in montreal of a weekend break ill go back. Nothing particularly i didnt like. The hotel it's simple and you get what pay for.

I loved the location of Hotel Du Menoir St. Denis, as well as the access to many key things like restaurants, cafes, shopping, architecture, downtown core of Montreal, and the metro. Overall, the hotel gives the visitor a good feel of what Montreal is. If there has to be some lesser factors, it would be that there was too much carpeting in the rooms and the whole hotel. Noise from outside, though not the hotel's fault, was a bit too much late at night, so updated windows could be considered. Also, the locks and door knobs on the room doors could use updating for security and convenience. Besides these, there are far too many positive factors about the hotel.

The location is excellent if you want to stay close to bars and night clubs. St Denis is a lively street so it might be noisy some nights. Although smoking is forbidden you can smell smoke/weed in the hotel/room some times.
