Very clean and neat
No plug for the bath-tub
Great central Location, great view! Owner personally make sure that everything was in order, comfortable. Also, even though the breakfast section is being renovated, he personally made breakfast for the two of us.
Cheap Price, great location to university
Pool was closed, Free breakfast cancelled, room door was open when I return once - not sure if it didn't lock behind me or behind cleaners
Very nice staff
Not a good location. Needs some T L C. Bedding needs to be replaced. Sheets are very worn. Pillows need to be replaced.
The cost, convenient location (near the highway) and the fact that allowed pets plus included breakfast.
The motel was run-down and dingy, and not cheery at all. The breakfast was pretty minimal, though OK. The whole place needs an overhaul.
Trying hard but not quite there....
location close ti highway
pool was disgusting room was expensive free 'breakfast' was appalling
A bit tatty. Very basic breakfast
The staff and the location
Maid kept forgetting to put towels in the room ...we had to ask for towels.
breakfast was cereal and coffee very poor
Was going to the Provincial swim meet at the University so location was perfect. I prefer firm beds so got great sleep. If had any concerns, staff were quick to help.
Room smelled really musty, had to leave windows & door open first day to clear out. Should have been queen beds but were doubles. Needs some upgrading but for price for stay it is what it is.
When we arrived to check in we were told that our room was given to others. Then they offered us a smaller room, one Queen bed instead of two, for almost three times the price ($230 vs $93). We went elsewhere.
very friendly and accomodating
When we arrived at the Motel, they did not have our booking on their computer, but in no time at all, they had us registered into a room. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
The Lodge is quite dated and could use some renovations, but other than that no complaints.
We didn't have chambermaid service. Room was but for the price it matched. Breakfast in the morning was poor/fair.
Liked the pool, and having an air conditioner.
The laziness of the front desk agent, didn't want to leave her chair for when she needed to find the owner.
Pubic hairs in tub. Bathroom counter dirty. At 630 AM all locked up. Where was continental breakfast? Fridge unplugged and stinky when we arrived. Air conditioner off and room sweltering when we arrived. Guys playing beer pong in parking lot, taking up spaces in an already crowded area. Lumpy pillows and hard beds. Need I say more. One star if I stretch it.
Location and price were good !
It was quiet at the back but I didn't feel safe since our door was way around a corner(could not see from front of building )and the door jam looked compromised ! Very hot and stuffy...opened windows but the window at the back was very dirty..room seemed clean enough but needs updated !!
Willingness of the owner to wake up early and make sure a breakfast was ready for us as we were heading out early.
everything else poor value for my money
location easy to find and near grocery and food stores. nice big comfortable bed.
leaking faucet in the bathroom
smells like urine, lift sheets mattresses filthy stained. windows poor attempt at cleaning them. continental breakfast embarrassing when your cutting a total of 2 muffins in half and a box of cornflakes. This is a motel where vagrence stay and it is very visible.
Bed was clean, bathroom was clean.
Night lock on the door didn't work, even after repairman came "to fix it". Small bath towel, no hand towels, no facecloth. There is a kitchen counter with some cupboards. Small fridge, no heating elements in the stove, no dishes or cutlery. No coffee maker, no microwave. Continental breakfast was watery coffee with stale bread, and dried out jelly, cereal and half a muffin.
The Star Lodge was conveniently located to where I had to be. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. They were understanding when I required a bit of extra time to check out.
