Excellent location. Good rates. Friendly staff.

The neighbourhood is a little neglected but it could be worse.

I lost my luggage at the aiport and all the receptionists were really friendly and helpful in this case. The location is very good. You can reach buses and metro within 5 minutes...

I spent 5 nights in Hotel des Arts and something bit me two times on my left leg in the hotel room (409) during the nights! My ankle in swollen and really painful I cannot walk normally. Now I cannot work and I had to spent more than 100 Euro for doctor and medicines. I think it is a quite serious problem, so the hotel definitely should pay more attention on cleanliness. I didn't expect this kind of accident in a country like Canada....

Great location! Rooms equipped with fridge, air conditioning, and comfy bed. Microwave in lobby. Simple breakfast buffet included, with bread/toast, bagels, croissants, chocolatines, bananas, and cereal.

WiFi was so slow at peak times so as to be unusable. Rooms had very little sound barrier and I could hear neighbours clearly. The whole place could use a deep cleaning, fresh paint, and overall sprucing, but the price was good enough that it wasn't a big deal.

Wifi was terrible, towels and bedsheets were not clean. Night staff were better than day staff. If you travel alone, location is not very safe.

It was close to old montreal. Basically we walked everywhere from the hotel.

The hotel is very old, dingy and musky. Every time we enter our room, it smells of old basement. It was not worth the money we paid. I would not recommend it nor would I stay here again.

The place is very well situated for people who like to go to theatre or shopping. It is in the middle of the city, near everything.

I could understand some women who travel alone could be afraid to stay there because the street (even it is safe) is not the best street to walk alone at night.

When walking from the airport bus stop along St. Laurent, ignore the seedy strip clubs (unless that's what you want), as the hotel area is better. The hotel does look a little tired, but the service is amiable (English is no problem), the breakfast is OK, and the rooms are tidy. We experienced no noise. WiFi worked quite well. The location is excellent for exploring Montreal.

The air conditioner was noisy. There was no view from the window. Other than these minor quirks the room was good value and we'd go back.

the location was good for being right in the city of Montreal and so close to all the main areas.

the noise at night; there seemed to be a lot of people in the area that were drunk at night. the breakfast was very limited in selection. one of the cleaning staff opened our door without knocking even though the "Do not disturb" sign was on it. she claimed she thought we were checking out. I was really upset about that! and when I brought this to management, they just seemed to shrug it off. for the 2 weeks that we stayed there, there was no long term discount or value; the rates were varied depending on the day (more expensive on weekends). if a client books 2 full weeks then there should be some financial incentive or reward for staying so long. the hotel is right near a butcher shop so there are some scents that do not go well in terms your comfort. there was no view either.

There was nothing that I liked about this hotel option.

    - hair on the washroom door - cigarette holes in the bedding -stains on the floors -water stains on the ceiling -leaking ceiling in the lobby -unclean sheets -extremely dirty bathtub -poor customer service (especially management) -too loud due to lack on insulation within the walls -entrance is located in back ally

The girl at the front desk was nice. That was about it.

The hallways smell like cigarettes and pee. Everything is old and gross. I ended up not even staying the night there - thankfully, my colleague had a pull out couch for me to crash on.

Nice, clean comfortable room and bath for an affordable price. Great location - close to downtown and the metro. I would stay there again.

Area is a little sketchy and there is limited parking on the street across from the hotel. Neither was an issue for our group.

There was smoking going on on the non smoking floor. First room we were put in had cigarette ash on the table next to the beds, one of the beds was collapsing on one side , the air vent in the bathroom was hanging from the ceiling . They switched us rooms on the same floor , still smelled like smoke. Hotel needs to be renovated, cigarette burns all over elevator floor . Receptionist spoke as if I was bothering her. Absolutely the most digusting hotel I've ever been to in my life . Paid 250$ for this ... Biggest waste of money.

    location only

I have stayed in the king-room, which was in good condition and big enough with large bathroom, but more expensive than other rooms. However, the room does not worth the price. So book this room only if it's 80-90$, but no more. The room has even Jacuzzi, which was out of order. King size bed has old mattress and pillows and the room has specific smell. And what definitely killed me, the Plastic CUPS! I would prefer have no wide TV and broken Jacuzzi, but have opportunity drink from real cup and have a nice coffee maker in the room.

A fairly good location if you like scenic strolls through cities. A good quite area with comfortably beds and clean bathrooms.

The breakfast was a little limitted and not great quality. There is also not enough seating so many people stood around eating.
