Staff was nice
Location is not walking friendly neighborhood Breakfast limited
Staff helpfulness and good humor
Instructions regarding parking could be clearer for visitors.
Great location! Rooms equipped with fridge, air conditioning, and comfy bed. Microwave in lobby. Simple breakfast buffet included, with bread/toast, bagels, croissants, chocolatines, bananas, and cereal.
WiFi was so slow at peak times so as to be unusable. Rooms had very little sound barrier and I could hear neighbours clearly. The whole place could use a deep cleaning, fresh paint, and overall sprucing, but the price was good enough that it wasn't a big deal.
Wifi was terrible, towels and bedsheets were not clean. Night staff were better than day staff. If you travel alone, location is not very safe.
good walking distances
too noisy at night..noise coming from other rooms in hotel
It was close to old montreal. Basically we walked everywhere from the hotel.
The hotel is very old, dingy and musky. Every time we enter our room, it smells of old basement. It was not worth the money we paid. I would not recommend it nor would I stay here again.
no parking space
The place is very well situated for people who like to go to theatre or shopping. It is in the middle of the city, near everything.
I could understand some women who travel alone could be afraid to stay there because the street (even it is safe) is not the best street to walk alone at night.
When walking from the airport bus stop along St. Laurent, ignore the seedy strip clubs (unless that's what you want), as the hotel area is better. The hotel does look a little tired, but the service is amiable (English is no problem), the breakfast is OK, and the rooms are tidy. We experienced no noise. WiFi worked quite well. The location is excellent for exploring Montreal.
The air conditioner was noisy. There was no view from the window. Other than these minor quirks the room was good value and we'd go back.
There was nothing that I liked about this hotel option.
- hair on the washroom door - cigarette holes in the bedding -stains on the floors -water stains on the ceiling -leaking ceiling in the lobby -unclean sheets -extremely dirty bathtub -poor customer service (especially management) -too loud due to lack on insulation within the walls -entrance is located in back ally
Nice, clean comfortable room and bath for an affordable price. Great location - close to downtown and the metro. I would stay there again.
Area is a little sketchy and there is limited parking on the street across from the hotel. Neither was an issue for our group.
A fairly good location if you like scenic strolls through cities. A good quite area with comfortably beds and clean bathrooms.
The breakfast was a little limitted and not great quality. There is also not enough seating so many people stood around eating.
Price of hotel is not worth!! Tub is dirty, looks like it wasn't scrubbed for more than a month, toilet seat is wiggly!! Smell of the room is not good.can hear loud voices from outside only to find out windows are open on 2 ends.sorry but we were not really happy with it. For the price that we pAid we could have stayed on a 5 star hotel.
All day free coffee and tea. Good location.
Small old hotel.
Denis & Front desk staff
Breakfast, location, room, cleanliness, Bad WiFi reception in room. Owner clearly won't pay to upgrade amenities in hotel such as very old lousy TV with few English channel selections. Noisy guests. Drunks hanging around hotel.
I like that the location was central to many good evening establishments as well as being close to the train station. The staff, especially housekeeping, was very attentive. The Ritz Carlton it is not but I felt I got a good deal for my money. The rooms were clean and well heated/cooled. In short I would definitely stay here again.
Within walking distance of Place des Arts, shopping on St Denis, cafés
Parking can be difficult
Staff were always helpful and when they called cabs they arrived in minutes. Parking is a couple of blocks but cheap at $10. for 24 hours. A very good deal in Montreal.
We could walk every where we needed to go.
Our room was too small and needed to be remodeled. We could not get the internet to work.
We'll situated near the Arts Center staff was friendly and helpful
The wi fi had a weak signal
Mattress sagging, smoke smell everywhere in the building, dirty
Location is pretty fine and you are in Montreal downtown in 5 minutes on foot. It is not too expensive. Staff are very polite and welcoming and they will do some small favors for you without hesitation (printing your boarding pass or short ppt handout).
Rooms need refurbishing and more could be done in terms of cleanliness (vacuum cleaner has not approached the zone under the bed for months). I missed the variety of foods offered for breakfast. No salty things and too much sweet. I would appreciate real butter instead of some imititation of butter (for US food expectations it is pretty fine, but for European standards it is subpar).
