Score from 119 reviews Very good
The room was clean comfortable and roomy, having one double bed and a sofa. Being art the back it was traffic noise free. One of the front desk individual told me that this was the room she liked best, being the only one with a sofa instead of a second double bed, making it more roomy.
Cost was high in view of the location and the road construction in front of the establishment. For the included breakfast, quite a few piece of bread were mouldy on the edge. No mini-fridge in the room.
No fridge or microwave oven, and little bit expensive!
Reception area looked scruffy and not particularly clean for a place where you eat breakfast. someone needs to tidy it when breakfast is on. all road in front being dug up so doesn't look good and without sat nav don't think we'd have found our way through diversion. needs a bigger sign on side road pointing you to car park. you had to drive to centre - too far to walk.
Comfortable room for a reasonable price.
Helpful manager. Good breakfast. Good price.
Unavoidable roadworks (September 2014); bad signage. Weak wifi.
The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was good value. The waffles were great. My room was small but comfortable. Bathroom very clean. It was surprisingly quiet. I would book there again
The television was old and the picture quality was poor. The room was too small for the tv cabinet. No coffee maker in the room as advertised.
Noise due to resurfacing of road outside hotel. However, this should be a short term issue.
That it was only a stay for one night
- Very hard to get into parking lot as there was so much construction happening right in front of the building! - The outlet on the wall was hanging out of place! - The smoke alarm was practically falling off the wall and it kept going while showering as there were not any fans in the bathroom! Tried to shower with bathroom door open, along with windows in the room but the alarm kept going off, even while taking a cold shower! - guy working at front desk upon check in was useless! - the "breakfast" that was offered was disgusting .... black bananas, bruised apples ...... hard oranges ..... muffins with a million flies all over them ..... made our stomachs roll so we left as fast as we could! - there were actually blood stains on the bottom sheet of the one bed. Room was not clean at all - toilet paper roll holder was located behind the door of the bathroom! - wouldn't bring an animal here to die!
Close to downtown Kingston and it was inexpensive and had breakfast and WiFi.
After a hectic drive through TO, arriving to find the hotel totally surrounded by construction was hard to find a way to get in. Disappointed that no one emailed me as they had my email. I was with a disabled person and going up stairs even to the first floor was very difficult....no warning. There was no coffee or hot water services available in the room.
To make the room smell good, provide more stuff like iron, shampoo, towels, coffee maker and cups.
Available but not our first choice Breakfast was fair.
Parking Construction should have been mentioned at time of booking. Long halls.
Central, can walk downtown in 15 mins. Great waffle maker for breakfast. We brought our own syrup and sour cream.
could have been cleaner, if it was cleaner then I would have said excellent value instead of just good.
Complimentary Breakfast Arrival time accommodation Cleanliness Service of Cleaning staff
We didn't like the construction around us and the noise level it created. We found the room small with the bigger beds and would recommend bigger room to accommodate them.
easy access to bus routes breakfast was good
maintenance was very poor we had to wait till very late to get towels stale smell in our room not their fault, but roadworks shook us awake very early
Only 20 mins walk to harbour
Cleaner kept forgetting to put towels in our bathroom. They also forgot to take bags of rubbish away. The fridge froze everything even on lowest setting Not tea making facilities in the room.
Breakfast was included.
There was construction at the front of the motel and this was not stated before booking and I didn't like the location of the motel, it didn't feel safe.
Checking out and leaving this place!
the beds, too soft...the smell was terrible. The lighting in the room was very poor. The Wi-Fi was very slow. The clerk was annoying when I checked in. Over all, I don't recommend this hotel!
I really enjoyed the breakfasts in the morning which were included in the price per night.
Not enough counter space in the sink area - no where to put bathroom items.
The sheets on one bed were dirty/soiled and the room didn't smell fresh, (like old smoke)
many things broken, toilet seat, headboard not attached to bed, bathroom vent not working, ice machine not working. missing bulbs in lamps. First time ive ever stayed at a hotel that didn't even have a radio alarm clock. Front counter staff although seemed friendly also seemed tohave difficulty communicating as English is not their first language. The place has an overall stench of wet dog and stale cigarettes
Room clean Wifi good Breakfast nice Good value
The street is destroyed Was hard to find The hallway smelled bad
Comfortable, clean room. Excellent lighting for reading and very comfortable arm chair and ottoman in our room. Free Wi-Fi.
Front of hotel and the entrance could use sprucing up and cleaning. This area does not give a good first impression. Breakfast only ok and didn't like the flimsy paper plates or plastic cutlery.
The hotel was full. There was a bad fire in Kingston around Christmas last year that left many elderly people without a home. The hotel is accommodating these people. GOOD for them!!! Our stay was night of May 10. The receptionist was a young woman who was exceptional. She is a real bonus to your hotel. The morning breakfast was adequate, the coffee hot. The rooms were clean; the beds very comfortable. It was quiet. We were pleased and actually surprised that it was so quiet and relaxing.
Perhaps management could clean up the front of the hotel at the street level. Bad appearance at the front entrace. All the wrappers, cigarette butts do not make a good first impression. Would it help if you had a couple of places to butt out cigarettes? Sweeping would sure help --- not really a big task. As it is an old building there is no elevator.
The Girl at the front desk was excellent, very friendly, accommodating when our room needed to be changed because of noisy neighbours. The sheets and towels were clean, no bed bugs. Lots of hot water. The location was easy to get to from the highway even with the construction.
The rooms were suppose to be smoke free, but the halls were filled with the smell of smoke, the wi-fi did not work in our second room, the bed was 3 inches higher at the foot then at the head board, even on the second floor you could here everything from the other rooms, the walls are very thin
