Score from 198 reviews Wonderful
Peaceful environment, food was great, fireplace in the room.
balconies lack of pillows in the chairs, very old and not well maintained.
- Food was excellent - Front Desk staff were friendly and helpful - Location is spectacular
- Rooms were run down, and not worth the $$$ - Facilties need some serious TLC - It's a shame to see such a beautiful lodge not being well taking care of properly
Unbelievable Vistas, Quiet, Romantic
Very noisy. Hear everything your next door is doing. Room furnishing mediocre to poor. Very noisy road traffic through the bridge which went from very early morning till late. Can't sleep because stuffy room and noise. Restaurant very expensive.
The whole atmosphere is very peaceful and beautiful. The food was super and the staff was excellent as well. The room was nice - fireplace well maintained and the bed was comfortable.
Some of the property is looking a little run down on the outside.
The location of this hotel is magnificent and if you are lucky to get a lake view even better. It is so quiet here we should have stayed an extra night. The food in the evening in the restaurant is very good, but pricey. Take a walk around the lake and you get a much better view of the area.
The attentiveness of the staff needs to be improved. This does not include the driver who was very helpful with the bags. The assistant manager was making up tables instead of getting the staff to attend to the clients. I had to wait ten minutes to be get served a drink in the lounge despite the staff looking over several times and had to go over to get them to bring one to me. The place has a tired look, but that is part of the character of the place.
Like it from the first time. and it keeps the consistent quality of service.
We loved the location, the views, the hiking and the fireplace in our room was nice. The staff that shuttled us up to the main lodge were fantastic. We loved having no TV and limited wi-fi.
The price of the rooms and expense in the restaurants were not worth it. The service in the main dining room was not good at all. They had NO honey for my coffee and after waiting for 15 min at least we were told they had none at all anywhere. The hot tub was nice but was not hot. A sign states that the temp would be 40 but the thermometer in the tub read only 32.
The beautiful setting. Log fire in cabin.
Price of food
Beautiful location, scenery was spectacular, and perfect place to stay for hiking the many hills and mountains. King size room/log cabin was good size and lovely to have an open fire too. Very romantic.
No wifi in rooms. Service at dinner and breakfast was not as slick as it could be for the price tag.
rustic cabins with log fire right on lakeside, fantastic views of lake and mountains, good food.
legions of day trippers wandering through hotel grounds so lack of privacy, wine very expensive, cabin facilities slightly tired in need of update particularly bathrooms, coffee making facilities poor.
We loved the setting, the food, and the staff.
It was very difficult to turn down the heat in the room and the comforter was too heavy.
I love this place...the scenery is breathtaking, the cabins are cozy and comfortable, the hot tub is clean, the staff is friendly, and the dining is delish! We rented canoes this time and it was like floating on glass.
The cleaning staff left the flue in our fireplace shut so that when we started a fire it at 10pm it filled our room with smoke and set of the alarm. I'm still finding clothing that smells of smoke. The staff came quickly to help, but it did detract from the overall experience. The dining was slower than normal as they seemed a little under staffed.
The setting is fantastic, and for that you expect to pay more. The restaurant is quite good, and the staff members were, for the most part, friendly and attentive. I thought the people working at Reception were excellent.
The place is run down. You see crumbling concrete steps and sunken, uneven pavers in the pathways. Some of the units have siding falling off. We stayed in a couple of units - there is an inch of dust around the baseboards and the night tables have not been moved in some time. I was informed that the vacuums don't go any closer....try an attachment perhaps! The windows were dirty, and the outside porch was covered with bird droppings. We slept poorly in a ground floor unit because you could hear the footsteps of the people above - very loudly. Also the doors to the units looked battered - they need a coat of paint. The location commands a premium but for those prices it should be very clean and well maintained. Bathrooms could use an update also.
The location is stunning. It is also exclusive without being pretentious. The cabin experience and log fires were great, especially as the temperature dropped dramatically.
The food was pricey and too elaborate. It is a pity the chef did not stick to simpler dishes.
Setting beautiful. Food good.Staff helpful and pleasant
Lodge is getting somewhat tired. Carpets stained , abhor bed coverings that you can't wash [eg quilts] between clients. Cobwebs in lodge lamps give off unkempt vibes.
Quiet nights and early mornings; food at dinner not bad quality. All staff very helpful and friendly!
limited menu at lunch in bar
The local is great, amazing. I could say astonished. Maybe one of the most beautiful place in the world. It's a little expensive but it is worthy the money
The views and the surrounding area were perfect. The lodge's dinner's and wine list were excellent as well. Great staff as well.
Rooms are a bit dated and small. Room also smelled slightly funny in the bathroom, which I had to leave closed.
Location and the no tv and wifi at the room was just perfect .
A little but pricy, they could include the breakfast at least.
No Wi-Fi in room
Beautiful location, broad range of activities at your fingertips, helpful staff.
No cellphone signal, no wifi in room.
This lake is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen. The color is amazing. The hiking is great. The facilities are expensive but worth it. The food was decent. The location is just so beautiful that it is all worth it.
The housekeeping staff said if we wanted new towels, place them in the tub. We did not place any towels in the tub and yet got all new towels. If they have a Green policy, they should follow it.
