Location and the no tv and wifi at the room was just perfect .
A little but pricy, they could include the breakfast at least.
No Wi-Fi in room
Beautiful location, broad range of activities at your fingertips, helpful staff.
No cellphone signal, no wifi in room.
This lake is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen. The color is amazing. The hiking is great. The facilities are expensive but worth it. The food was decent. The location is just so beautiful that it is all worth it.
The housekeeping staff said if we wanted new towels, place them in the tub. We did not place any towels in the tub and yet got all new towels. If they have a Green policy, they should follow it.
Location,scenery,hiking,rooms with fireplaces
Rooms starting to look a little tired, stains on carpets, short of staff in dining room on occasion. Value for money now questionable.
Romantic, peaceful, scenic, excellent food.
Cleanliness, maintainace of units could use inprovement.
The location and food was excellent. The fireplace and terrace looking onto the lake makes a comfortable romantic setting in the wilderness.
Most of the staff were unfriendly (except our dinner server Alison, she was very nice). The outdoor part of the buildings r not properly maintained as u could see cobwebs on light fixtures. The hot tub was cold (30 degrees only).
The staff were lovely, helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable. The setting of the cabins was sympathetic to the surrounds and the other guests. The lake and walks around it were quite stunning.
Location obviously was fabulous Quiet surroundings. Wood burning Fireplace setup for guests daily. Food at the restaurants was excellent. Attention to details in small things in the rooms. The facilities are regularly maintained to keep up the quality. Those complaining must only want a 5 star, pamper you, hotel in the woods - not a 5 star lodge. No problems with car shuttle. Kept cars away from lodging.
Location is excellent. Food was good in the lounge
Rooms could do with updating, our room smelled of damp which then meant that our clothes were damp. Expensive for the facilities as you pay for the location
Loved the view, hiking and fireplace in the cabin.
Having to go home!
We were not told in advance that the access to the rooms is by shuttle only, which caused some inconvenience with our luggage arrangement.
The amazing scenery, views, canoes, the s'mores, cozy cabin, watching a meteor shower from the hot tub, relaxed chilled atmosphere.
We weren't there long enough!
I like the hotel enviorment surronding the hotel
I think it is over pricing for the room rate.
We enjoyed the perfect setting which, OK, was well-visited by tourists but nonetheless retained its wilderness appeal. We find this much more attractive than the manicured, formal garden look to which so many hotels aspire.
We have noted 'fair' in 'value for money' because, whilst this was definitely an excellent hotel, it was also the most expensive on our week's drive through the Rockies. I was also not keen on leaving the car parked one kilometre away and being transported to the hotel, though given its location, any alternative would be impossible.
This place is the closest to Heaven on Earth, a "must experience" if you are in the area.
We had a cabin that was built into the hillside and we had a balcony with chairs. Absolutely beautiful view through the pines of Emerald Lake. Great walk around the lake. Friendly staff who provided everything we asked for to make our stay very comfortable. Great restaurant and waitress was very attentive. Would stay here again.
The breathtaking location, the staff and the view from our lodge
Not much. The decor is becoming a little worn but this actually adds to the charm
Peaceful and very quiet. Were allowed to check in early which gave us more time for our walk circling the lake. Lovely breakfast in the dining room with a spectacular view of the lake and mountains Great having a fireplace in the room, was very cosy.
We had dinner in the lounge on Saturday night. The risotto was wonderful according to my friend. The soup was good, and so was my Cobb salad. The ribeye was cooked well. My husband had lamb and was very disappointed. He had ordered it medium rare and when the three tiny ribs arrived, tney were overcooked and very tough. There was hardly anything else on the plate. Thank goodness he had also ordered the minestrone. We were expecting the dinner prices to be as they were, but we felt that if you order a soup as well as your meal you should receive enough food to satisfy an ordinary appetite. My husband was very disappointed with his meal.
- The location is the only thing that is good about this place but for that a day trip is enough. Its not worth the stay at this lodge.
- Its not kids friendly - The staff at the reception is borderline rude. - Rooms are really small and old. - There are weird sounds in the cottages, like the heater cranking every 15 minutes, loud generator/motor sound if you decide to step out in the balcony.
Loved the lake, walking and hiking trails, well maintained resort. Bed was very comfortable. Good closet space and sitting area. Outside deck with chairs were great for relaxing. In room coffee And wine glasses. Aveda bath products were appreciated.
People above us were a bit heavy footed which was hard to ignore.
location is spectacular
Needs updated, and quality of food at the restaurant was a disappointment, although the staff was very pleasant and helpful
no Internet in the room (only in lobby)
The location is nice The food is good, but not cheap
We had read a lot of good things about this lodge, but we were greatly disappointed! The cabin was completely outdated, dirty and by no means up to the standard that it should be. Even after complaining there was nothing done about it!
Location of lodge & closeup view of lake & mountains from our room. Beautiful trails around lake & to Burgess Pass + Emerald basin. Warm welcome from Lodge with chocolates & birthday card. Pleasant & knowledgeable staff - many from all over the world. No radio or TV or WIFI in room. Beautiful gardens with mix of herbs, wild and domestic flowers. Book on history of Emerald Lake Lodge in room most interesting. Good restaurant in Lodge.
Tiny coffee brewer in room not able to make good tea or French press coffee. Small kettle might be better. Desk needs drawers & closet more hangers - especially since we stayed 8 nights. No laundry service for guests. Was not aware about the Lodge's lovely upstairs billiard room & facilities till day before we leave. Balcony should be swept out every day or supply broom for guests to do so.
