We have stayed here before as they have large rooms (i.e. 3 queen beds & full kitchens) which are good for large families or groups travelling together. It is within walking distance to English Bay and the entrance to Stanley Park. There are many good restaurants, grocery store & shops along Denman as well.
The decor is very outdated, some of the furniture was run down, only 2 burners worked on the stove, and the bathroom tub surround was grungy. Not filthy, but not that clean either. The chamber maid staff were repeatedly knocking on the door for cleaning although we still had over an hour before check-out.
Close to many shops & restaurants.
the beds were excellent, firm and comfortable, the location in English Bay was great. For what we were after it was a great room
Parking was a problem it seemed the first come first served did not apply to staff........ just on the guests.
Room smelled musty.
Good location friendly staff
Great location, adequate facilities, clean, large suite for 4, inexpensive lodgings with kitchen and enough room to kick back. Staff made beds each morning.
The building is a tired, 1960's walk-up with singles, doubles and suites...its facilities are old, but still working...it is not the ritz. Heating was either too hot or too cold. We did not interact with the staff much...but that's OK. It met our expectations.
Location Excellent wifi
Everything is dirty except bed and towels
location, location, location. On busy street but rooms pretty quiet. Very secure parking
We have stayed often and notice that there's not much upkeep--awful carpets, same little things broken but working, etc. Entry to Parking is odd and archaic. Quite handy but you walk a lot in building, carrying your luggage.
Good location with good bus connections. Excellent view of the ocean and very close to Stanley park.
Bed was saggy. Dishes were not clean, had to request sops to wash the dishes prior to using them.
The location to the ocean
layout of room. kitchen. view of water. basically got a small studio apt for the price of a hotel room.
room was dirty. oven door fell off. no remote for the TV itself (remote for cable box was there).
Full water view from large window, very comfortable with nice quaint setting, quiet street at night for inner city, lots of great restaurants nearby. Wifi was good. The management carried all of my luggage up to the room as I was holding an infant. The parking is secure, but not suitable for a large truck, very narrow entrance.
This hotel would have been excellent except the floor had not been cleaned as well as other areas in the bathroom. I hope the management addresses this because it was otherwise a very pleasant stay.
The view but I think we got lucky as we had a corner 'apartment'.
No parking for larger vehicles. The glasses in the kitchen were dirty; I had to wash them before using them. But there was a good supply of dishes and pots/pans. The floor didn't appear to be vacuumed after the last guests; there were old raisins in the living room and an old gummy or wine gum or something in the bedroom. Last time I stay there. I counted down the nights until I could vacat. Giving up $450 was not an option. Cancellation policy stinks as did the lobby and halls. Worst hotel I've stayed in. Very hesitant to use booking.com again if they have these types of hotels.....
Location, close to the waterfront
The bathroom was digusting. Toilet seat was dirty, hair in sink. Carpet was not vacuumed well. Asked for bleach, to clean bathroom, front desk looked and could not find any. Said maids had already left! Looked as if no one had bern in room for months dust and grim covered end tables lamp shade and remote. If your into cleanliness don't go here
loved the location, and the kitchen option - though we didn't use it. parking was reasonable and handy. location was awesome.
some late night noise, not the best beds, and not the cleanest room.
Staff is not helpful, not friendly. Terrible and scary underground parking.
Location and price for our family of 6 staying one night in Vancouver made this hotel very affordable. Room although dated in age was both clean and tidy and affordable. Staff very warm and friendly. Location close to Stanley park, Hop on Hop off bus route for sightseeing and lots of food eating options all around.
The street outside was dirty and entry was old and tired looking. Foyer and reception was dark and outdated, and filled with strong smell of Asian cooking. Pictures on internet made the hotel look quite new but it is getting on in age!!
The area around the hotel is quite bustling and beautiful. The room had a View of English Bay. Minimal updates but well equipped simple kitchen and bath. Clean. Walking distance to everything in the west end. Lots of shops and restaurants of all sorts. Front desk was friendly.
Dated but clean. Underground parking was a bit sketchy. But at least there was parking and only 10$ extra reasonable for the area.
Street noise very loud and hotel is old and not well kempt, somewhat grimey
The location is awesome! BUT After checking in after a long day of travel the room was not cleaned and garbage and dirty laundry from the last guests was present. This was 5pm...reserved and our arrival certainly Should not have been a surprise Ok...room key #2 down the hall..get all the luggage down to the second location And the same scenario!! Waaaahhhh. .I give up. We finally just dumped the luggage in the dirty room and requested with the front desk they turn the room over. We went out for dinner and a great walk returned to find the room finally ready. Very noisy till about 2 am on the street. Windows were NOT conducive to blotting out much of anything. Location made up for a lot
The rooms need to be freshly painted there was kind of a stale smell to the room
overpriced for what it is
Close to beach and park.Easy bus transport to city. Close to Stanley Park.
Location is great!
Underground parking was very hard to get into and quite a walk with suitcases to get to the elevator. Hotel is very old, nothing fancy but very adequate.
