We liked the location to start our Cabot Trail travels. Ian was a warm, friendly host. Breakfast was delicious!

The house smelled a bit musty and the handshower a little awkward to use.

Very accommodating, they have a last checkin at 7pm, we were traveling south on the cabot trail and due to arrive just before 7. There was an accident on the road which delayed us about 1/2 hour, and once past that, there was 2 separate construction areas that delayed us even further. Ian was very pleasant to deal and assured us that even if we were late, we would be helped, and we were! The breakfast in the morning was eggs Benny, which I was told they don't do to often, but it was very very yummy and filling.

I can't really say that I disliked anything about our stay here. There was a wifi issue that they were in the midst of, but that didn't bother my wife or me. The wifi worked perfectly well in the main building, just not in the cottage which is where we were, but again, wasn't an issue for us.

There wasn't one thing we didn't like. The entire place swelled with charm. The rooms were well decorated and comfortable. The breakfasts were second to none and the hosts were extremely delightful and offered any help when they could. We would definitely go back again. Only one word describes this BnB: classy.

    Leaving.

What a beautiful spot, so peaceful and relaxing! Since we were traveling by bicycle our host gave us a ride to a near-by restaurant for our evening meal. Breakfast was wonderful! The entire experience was a delight and made us feel 'royal'!

    Decoration

They should have been more clear on their website that they DON'T accept kids, I reviewed it again and looks like fine print to me, place is very clean though

Peaceful location and spoiled by a very helpful host. Attentive and full of good and helpful advice.

I would have preferred a shower rather than a bath.

We stayed in the cottage and it was just delightful. Beautifully furnished, our own veranda, a quiet escape. We felt we were at our own cottage with a nearby home that provided yummy breakfasts!

A bit dark but that comes naturally with a wood cabin experience. Not much of a criticism really.

The hosts were great, very helpful with advice on what to see in Cape Breton area, where to eat, etc. Breakfasts were also great, and our room (Conservatory) was very bright and roomy. We also saw 4 moose in the lake!

The deep bathtub is great for a soak, but makes for a difficult shower if you want to keep the water inside. We figured it out and it worked for us, but guests who aren't very limber might want a different room.

After a long day riddled with car trouble, it was such a delight to arrive at this B&B. We had to leave much too early the next day to get our car to the shop, but the owners still treated us to fresh baked pear muffins, homemade granola, and more. We stayed in the Russian Room which had the most comfortable bed ever, and also lovely touches including spa bath, his and hers body wash, many lotions, bathrobes, wine glasses - everything we needed to relax after a crazy day. Many thanks to Ian and Penny for being such wonderful hosts.

    Atmosphere - cleanliness - decor - hosts - location - food.

No shower. Slippery floors when wet.

Large rooms, overlooking country garden and pond, and tastefullly furnished (as is the entire house) with period piece art and furnishings (see the photos). Lovely proprietors, eager to make one's stay pleasant.

The location was excellent, right on the Cabot Trail. Beautiful, peaceful setting. The home truly felt like an English country home. Breakfast was wonderful and Ian was a fantastic host - giving us great tips on the places to stop along the Cabot Trail.
