The hotel is dated and pictures online show it to be much more than it really is.

Close to airport, staff friendly one in particular, accommodating, close to shopping, restaurants, happy that a roof connects to other building , we had other family members in newer building, there's were quite nice. Booking.com did not give us the room as shown in the advertisement , then valuable time was wasted on getting a better room , we only had 5 days and they were planned out full, this was suppose to be less stress, the women who helped us out was excellent, very nice and pleasant, considering we booked through booking.com. The room we got was so small, one of the beds was a 3/4 bed one of my sons is 6 ft 4 inches tall, ex football player, also we were suppose to be 5 people one with baby, baby got sick so mom and baby did not com. So upon arrival we were so disappointed especially me since I booked it for the first time on line. We are old school, we like to talk to the person at the hotel, on line booking continues to make me nervous now. The room we got was nice , roomier, clean but it was old, we really noticed when we went to visit family in the newer building.so the trip started badly, the mood was not good, we were all thinking when we return to ontario, we are going to need a holiday from this holiday, our budget is small that's why we only booked for 5 days and not 7.

we really liked our one bedroom suite and having the washer/dryer was a bonus. The room sizes were above average. This hotel felt more like a condo than a hotel but with excellent customer service and all the extra's! We will defintely stay again :)

The one bedroom suite was just fine. Overall very good. The small tv in the bedroom didn't have all the channels that the flat screen in the living room had - it only had the lower ones.

All the staff was very nice and always smiling. I had to make a few changes to my room and they were very helpful. Close to medical/hospital and the bus stop was outside the door, Canada Line at Brighouse was a ten minute walk. Richmond Centre Mall was also a ten minute walk. Room was very quiet. Shuttle service from/to airport was easy. Hot tub had a horrible smell so I didn't stay in it. I sooo looked forward to it after a busy day. I was there for 4 days and the smell never changed, even anouther guest commented on how bad it was. Hard to find the restuarant, very tiny. Would serve breakfast even with it still sitting there, didn't order lunch not much to choose from. The resturant took a while to find, It was like a maze to find it.

As an over night stop, the hotel was fine - once we got there. The airport shuttle was troublesome. It took nearly forty minutes for someone to even answer the phone at the hotel to dispatch the shuttle which finally arrived 30 minutes later. On arrival the desk clerk simply said she was very busy and offered no apology or explanation. In the morning, I told the driver my wife might be a few minutes late. He replied aburply he could not accommodate any lateness and would leave at 0630 sharp. As it turned out we waited until 0640 to depart with a different driver. An airline pilot in the shuttle entertained us with similar tales of shuttle frustrations, but said he has no choice in hotels but we did. We will try a different hotel next time.

The Plaza is well located in Richmond, near Vancouver airport, and 10 minutes' walk from the Skytrain terminus to central Vancouver, which takes about 30 minutes to the other terminus. At night, it's about $30 from Vancouver back to the Plaza by taxi. While on a main street, it is quiet, and near a big shopping mall and some restaurants and pubs/ bars. On both occasions we stayed at the Plaza, staff were efficient and helpful. Both rooms we stayed in were of good standard, very clean, spacious and overall comfortable. Parking and free airport shuttle every 30 minutes is available. Breakfast at the Tivoli restaurant is of very good standard with a good choice, and dinner at the steakhouse Carvers' is very, very good , with welcoming and friendly, but not over the top, service, and excellent choice of food and drinks, with good deals. While we knew it is not central, we returned to the Plaza twice because it is much cheaper than hotels in central Vancouver and offers lots more for the money. The Plaza is in Richmond, technically a different city from Vancouver BC, although we couldnt see where the two begin and end. It is located in what looks like a commercial / residential area so not close to any of the major attractions in Vancouver, and it takes a little time to get to them. While this is not a fault of the Plaza, if you have limited time in town, the time it takes to get to places needs to be taken into account.

It was clean, fairly friendly, overall wasn't a bad experience. Breakfast buffet was pretty good as well as 12 o'clock check out. Wifi didn't work so they brought a internet cable to room which was only like two feet long and had to do work on my laptop on the floor. Gave away my king size room so they gave me a queen suite which was supposedly an upgrade, but I wanted the king size bed.
