Breakfast was amazing - quite possibly the best, locally made breakfast sausages we've ever tried. Omnipresent cookies and tea were appreciated at all hours. Our room was like stepping back in time, yet with modern amenities in the bathroom. Aveda bath products were fantastic (love the rosemary and mint scent!). The staff was amazing - friendly, knowledgeable, great recommendations.
If only it hadn't rained while we were there - we would have loved to spend an evening enjoying their outdoor fireplace, unfortunately, mother nature had other ideas. The beds are antiques, a little on the squeaky side, but clean and relatively comfortable. A nonfat option for yogurt and milk would have been appreciated, but that's hard to find anywhere in the Maritimes.
We were made to feel welcome the instant we walked in the door. Excellent food, convivial surroundings - overall an outstanding experience.
That we had only booked 2 nights!
Staff are very, very helpful. Great location. Warm and inviting atmosphere.
Wi-Fi was episodic. A church across the street had a very bright light all night.
We decided to stay here at the last minute and we absolutely loved it! The location is literally a 2-10 minute walk from nearly everything in downtown Charlottetown. The staff was superb and very helpful and their complimentary breakfast is simply to die for - in a totally different league from the stale pastry and coffee at other hotels. Internet access was seamless, the outdoor gazebo was very pleasant to sit in and enjoy and you absolutely couldn't beat the location. I have to hand it to the staff: Doris and the 2 or 3 others we interacted with couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant to work with. They really are first class. Best of all, the cost is certainly not prohibitive when you consider what you get for it. Worth every penny - US or Canadian! ~Maty
The Inn is in a great location - very historic & well maintained. Walking distance to restaurants & harbor was great. The staff were very friendly & breakfast was very good.
We were in the main floor bedroom & wifi was poor from the room. Had to go out to the main lobby to get decent wifi.
Great staff Super breakfast Beautiful Grounds"
Innkeeper Doris is great. We would definitely stay again.
Staff was so friendly. Breakfast exceptional. Rooms decorated with antiques and grounds lovely
Fresh chocolate chip cookies brought to us by the outdoor fire pit by Doris. Lovely place to stay. Within walking distance to Musical "Anne of Green Gables" and the waterfront (8 blocks)
The breakfast was excellent! It was walking distance to everywhere. It is a beautiful heritage building.
The best thing about this place was the staff. The inn itself was so beautiful, old and full of history, but the staff made you feel like home. We are from Newfoundland and known for our hospitality so it was nice to stay in a place that made sure you felt just as comfortable as home.
location Ambiance historic value closeness great breakfast great sea food at local corner resto
parking - trees that shed leaves and some sticky liquid - Had to get car washed after leaving.
location, advice, breakfast, everything was excellent
had to leave too soon
The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and excited when asked for help. The house was beautiful and comfortable. It was well located within easy walking distance to the warf area restaurants and attractions. We will definitely come back.
Great staff, beautifully restored historic property, good location, very elegant dining room. Overall,a real class operation.
The innkeeper's friendly and helpful welcome The Coach House was brand new, massive bathtub and rain showerheads. A TV in living room and bedroom. The location was ideal for walking in Charlottetown Outdoor sitting area with fire pit for evening chats
There was some discrepancy with the booking details and costs from what was listed on booking.com versus the inn's policies. I would suggest confirming all dates, rooms, costs and extra fees with the inn.
the staff were very friendly and made you feel like home.
so much noise from the traffic, both vehicles and people at night.
Beautiful building, friendly staff, convenient location, delicious food. We've stayed here before and would definitely return.
The location was perfect, staff was very nice to us.
We were expecting nice historical type room but it was a totally newly built room. It was also nice but wasn't what we were expecting and chose for. Description was not proper in the web I think.,..
What a wonderful place! We stayed 6 nights while attending a conference and sneaking in some touristy things too. We stayed in the Brecken Suite. Spectacular, extremely comfortable, all possible amenities thought of. Breakfasts were varied, plentiful and fresh. The coffee, tea and chocolate chip cookies put out late afternoon were great. Fantastic stay.
Loved the charm and history of the Inn. The staff were very caring and friendly. Location was very central for us. Breakfast was lovely. Our entire holiday was stress free and wonderful. The people of PEI are so friendly and we would return in a heartbeat.
Things were pretty dusty, too much maintenance and cleaning for the number of staff on hand and our shower stall had mold that should be addressed.
Very Friendly staff. Great breakfast
Amazing house well-located very comfortable
Doris the manager was very helpful during our stay (even delivered a bottle of wine after hours) but seemed to be pre-occupied by the ongoing construction onsite. What was disappointing is that in such a historic house, we were not given any insights whatsoever into the history of the property. Other than Doris, there was little interaction with the other onsite staff . Given the price and reviews that we had read, we had looked forward to breakfast the morning after our arrival. Unfortunately both the quality and quantity of the breakfast offered feel well short of our expectations. I understand that the staff may be new so maybe our timing was unfortunate. To be clear, we stayed at numerous B&B's during our tour of Nova Scotia and PEI - by far, our stay at the Fairholm was the most disappointing. Hopefully our experience is a rare exception. We moved to the Sonata for our second night and had a great experience.
This is a 'top rate' facility. Everything exceeded our expectations and I would want to return when I next visit PEI.
There were no complaints!
enjoyed beautiful old house. staff was excellent, location good, bed very comfoftable, breakfast excellent
