Room is spacious, clean & tidy Great location - easy access for a boat ride, old town or other sights Staff - friendly & helpful Great place to attend for high tea
The hotel itself is a tourist icon but there is no guided tour to visit the buidling. What a pity!
The location is very central. The fact I could check out quickly after a single night when I had booked for 4.
Our room was dingy, not clean and with a wardrobe the size of a broom closet. The restaurants and bar were poorly organised with slow service. Worst of all and the final decider for a decision to move on after only one night was the amount of foot traffic wandering through. For example; after checking in my wife and I decided to partake of the cheese and wine experience in the hotel bar. We had to wait for a table and then while trying to enjoy this experience we were continually on view to what was tourist foot traffic wandering into the bar from the street, leaning over our table and taking their "cute" photographs of the river across our table through the window behind us. There is way too much "gawp" traffic in this hotel, which is listed as a local landmark. Throughout out the day, whenever walking around the hotel we felt we were living in a bus terminal rather than a five star hotel. The management has to decide how to separate the "gawpers" wandering in off the street from its paying guests.
Bar was Great, Bar staff was great
dirty room small room front desk staff cost was ritz like without the service
Comfortable room and great location for walking and touring. Helpful and courteous staff. Great concierge service.
Noise from the street performers could be heard in our room. Restaurant was very expensive; portions were small, and although the food was excellent, it wasn't worth the cost.
We loved the location of this hotel and my daughter loved staying in a "castle". It was clean & beautiful.
Had a difficult time finding the things I needed for my children. For the amount of money we paid - should have had a little more personal attention (something we don't normally require- but this trip we did). If you are looking for a romantic setting- this is not the place. Too many tourists and weddings.
location and look of hotel
eating not great choice nowhere to buy refreshments
Excellently, tastefully updated with respect for the historical uniqueness of the Chateau Frontenac .
One of the beautiful bathroom doors would always swing shut while walking through.
Location amazing; breakfast excellent
Charges for internet per room per day; expensive film rental prices; restaurant booked three days in advance for dinner with no possibility for hotel guests to get different treatment
Staff was professional helpful. Gave us upgrade of room. Location is best in Quebec
Breakfast not included for us but some people did have complimentary breakfast. Would have been nice.
Very accessible and well located
Location is amazing. The hotel is beautiful, with a grand lobby, gorgeous views and a nice indoor swimming pool.
We were earlier than check-in time, but despite frequent inquiries about our room, for four hours we were repeatedly told, "It's not quite ready". Actually, it never became ready and we were given a different room at 4:15. We wondered why this could not have happened hours earlier.
Great view. - Paid extra for it. Nice location.
Extremely small room - cramped. Very expensive. Sam's is horrible. Asked for window seat - said they were all reserved.. We ate off the minimal menu and left 1.5 hrs later and still no one was seated at any window seat. Very disappointing.
Staff Service Hotel
We wish the hotel offered a tour of the facility
Customer service is a 10/10! Valet, bellman, excellent. The hotel gave us the wrong room but resolved the problem quickly with the help of our wonderful bellman, Kevin.
We were originally given a room with a queen size bed when our reservation/confirmation was for a king delux room, and told we were going to be in a room with a king size bed by the check in desk, but luckily they were able to get us what we reserved, after telling us they were completely booked. Scary to think about what we would have done if another room wasn't available.
The location is prime.
1. No attention to real service given the enormous prices for average rooms. A queen size room for 2 people runs around $350 before the add-ons: parking @$32/day, wifi @$15.95 per day, bottled water @ $8.50 per liter, city/province taxes - it all adds up to an impressive total of more like $500 per day. 2. Do you get more service? Absolutely not. In fact, if you would like the convenience of a buffet breakfast in the restaurant, you have to pony up with an impressive $28 per person tab. And a nice, relaxing drink in one of the bars? Forget about it. You can either not get a cocktail because it's a "wine and cheese" bar OR you can be escorted to another bar but not a window seat if not eating...you are made to feel like you are imposing on their hospitality rather than welcomed. 3. The room was small and cramped; bathroom was outdated and could not accommodate 2 people; a hair dryer hanging in a bag? Really? At $350 per night? And in this day and age, to have to pay for wifi??? @$15.95 per 24 hours is outrageous. We will not be back to the Chateau.
Great service Great breakfast Great bar
Brasserie dinner was only ok
Everything except the high cost of everything.
The cost of food and drinks were too high!
I liked the fact that we were able to use the parking facility after check out and until 4 p.m. The makeup mirror in the bathroom was very nice. The bed and pillows were perfect.
The bathroom in our room was very small. Not much room to place your makeup. It would have been nice to have coffee available for free in the lobby. AT the price we paid, breakfast should have been included.
extra costs - wifi, parking
Le Chateau Frontenac was a great place to celebrate my 60th birthday. The room overlooked the river where we had a great view of the fireworks. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The hotel lobby, spectacular. The Chateau was a great starting point for our many walking tours of the old city. The boardwalk around Le chateau provided a magnificent view of the river. I highly recommend a stay at Le Chateau Frontenac for a special celebration or simply a weekend getaway. You won't be disappointed.
Everything. Beautiful hotel.
The charge for parking was like New York City. The charge of $15 per day for WiFi was outragous in today's world. If you're from the USA you can't even use your smart phone without WiFi!
Elevators are too few
Prachtige locatie Statige lobby, restaurants, bars
Piepkleine kamer Stevige prijs
