Very close to ferry and on the ester. Lovely grounds! Watched deer in the evening walking across lawn. Good kitchen facilities and common room to relax in.
Although comfortable, the bedroom could have used a bit more cleaning, but not too bad.
ocean views cottage rustic charm
cottage rundown needs updates. no credit card payment or debit payment system available. manager service poor. no breakfast or complimentary coffee available in morn.
Great if you want camping expirince without camping.
Loud traffic from the ferry in the morning.
We loved the location. It was quickly accessible by foot to the harbor which was perfect for walk-on ferry travel. The bus system ran from the ferry so it would have been easy to go to any other part of the island by transit. The breakfasts were lovely and the hostess was casual but her attention to detail was ideal. The room was comfortable and the bed and the access to the deck and a large sitting room and kitchen made for a perfect two day stay. We had a wonderful time.
Access to ferry and friends living in Saltspring
Location is excellent. facility and staff were very good. I would do this again.
TV didn't work.
The cottage sits away from the main b&b house, so it's very private. The cottage has everything you need and more, with your own patio, picnic table and bathroom. Gwenyth is very kind and gives you everything you need, is available for any questions and is easy-going. The area of Saltspring that this b&b/cottage is at is about a 20 minute drive to the town of Ganges, but don't let that deter you. You are very close to many of the most beautiful areas of the island, including Ruckle park and Burgoyne bay, which were my two favorite spots. Also, the town of Fulford has everything you need, so really, a trip to town is nice, but not necessary! All around perfect in my opinion.
Some road noise from the road, however, the pros far outweigh this slight con. I'm only writing this for awareness, not that it should be a deterrent.
It is very close to our son's place.
The rate differential for holidays is extreme. There is very little contact with the manager - and none in the morning. Access from the island itself is very poor. That driveway entrance could be widened.
Though conveniently in the village, and close to the ferry, if we should not take the car over one day. It was still situated in a private way, without being in a dark corner. It was excellent, except for perhaps the mattress, we didn't sleep as well as expected. Bill and Karen. The little tiny kitchen, was appreciated.
It was great to walk off ferry and into the property - so convenient and casual. The setting is pristine w/ocean view too.
Not a futon fan but then it was only one night - slept for 10 hrs in spite of it so all and all a good experience that I look forward to again soon.
loved the outhouse - great shower stall - loved the kitchen area - location to the small shopping area - and the price was great
well - two things - the wife didn't like the outhouse - needs to be "cleaned" out and the bunkbed's top bed is too close to the ceiling
I loved the location to the ferry. Gwenyth was very nice
The bed was quite uncomfortable. Breakfast wasn't included so how can it be a B&B
Location was good. Grounds were beautiful. Shower was lovely.
The bed was quite uncomfortable - needs a better mattress topper perhaps. Wifi from the B&B did not reach the cottage.
comfortable bed nice yard good location good scones the first day. wifi connection.
hot tub was very dirty shower was dirty breakfast was too similar each day. deck was dirty and not set up for enjoyment no cream only milk for coffee. we were not communicated with by the owner to see if we were enjoying our stay after the 1st/2nd/or 3rd night...Our opinions could have easily changed if we were asked if we needed anything. ie. cream Gwenyth was very helpful in order to make the booking but not very welcoming once we arrived..Not sure why? Perhaps because we are gay? Or maybe because it was a late arrival due to ferry schedule but I would suspect that to be the case quite often on a Friday arrival. All electronics are dated. TV had a horrible picture..Stereo had no MP3 hook up..which on a rainy day might matter to guests.
