We booked a room for 68$. The owner gave this room to her own familiy and so we had to pay 78$ for another room. The familiy was loud early in the morning.
The owner is so nice and helpful. The place was amazing and we could use the little boat in their lake and spent a wonderful time. The breakfast was amazing too.
All was good
Very nice B&B/gite on the roadside - it has a ncie lake in the back (though we did not have a chance to swim in - it was pouring rain all the time!) but the company in the gites was very helpful to find best places to go/eat and spend time when the weather was poor) There is a common room where breakfast is served around the one table giving a sense of home and a chance to exchange on past and present experiences in the region, tips on travel destinations and places to go out in the evening.
Travellers should be aware that all rooms face the common room and with doors being not sound proof, you might slumber off to the chat of the neighbour (make sure you are on good terms with them!); also shares a bathroom/showerroom for all three rooms, which might result in the queue mornings and evenings. Gite is located in the back of beyond on the major route between Tadoussac & Chicoutimi, so be prepared to sleep to the noise of trucks climbing an extremely steep hill outside of the gite. Entrance to gite is at the bottom of the valley, between two steep hills, so watch out for the entrance (you can cross double barrel yellow lines in the middle of the road, if you are coming from Chicoutimi!) There is a very nice eco farm nearby (5km re Chicoutimi) with a nice resto and the best food we have tried over two weeks in Quebec, definitely a place to stop by!
excellent stop-off point to the approach of Saugenauy
It is on the main route into the city, and while the grounds themselves were pleasant with a nice backyard pond, it's not a place to spend multible nights in.
The host was really nice and professional.
