We were in town for the Shaw Festival and the location couldn't have been better. We ate at the in house restaurant and it was very good.
The corridors to the room was a little serpentine.
Friendly Staff Very Clean
everything is good, nice staff, rigth in downtown, beautiful dinning area , patio
no internet in the rooms,
The room is comfortable and the beds are great. The restaurant food is fantastic.
location and dining room
carrying bags upstairs
The Gate House Hotel was comfortable, the staff helpful, and the restaurant good. The WiFi did not work in Room 2.
The bathroom was clean and modern. Facecloths. Real glasses rather than plastic cups.
All of the above and one thin sliver of soap in the bathroom....
Location, staff, cleanliness.
Poor lighting in room & would have liked room to have a table with at least two chairs (there was room for it) and a small refrigerator/microwave.
Location Friendly staff
Dated decor, stained carpet (room 7), price
The location is great! The young ladies at check-in and serving us breakfast were friendly and attentive. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Parking was close and free.
The breakfast was good the first day. Day two was exactly the same plated foods, but coffee was cold, and there was no butter available. Was surprised with so many delicious bakeries within walking distance that breakfast was not more of a variety especially considering the cost of the room. We noticed loud noise/music from the kitchen early in the morning.
No elevator, Stairs very steep, no wifi even though said it did, Uncomfortable chairs in room, shower/bathtub too high to get in and out of, and too small, staff sitting when we came for breakfast, no choice for continental breakfast, coffee cold, noisy below us - kitchen i think!
Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom were spacious. Beds were comfortable, but small. Room was clean.
One of the staff members was not immediately helpful with a billing discrepancy. He eventually made it right, but it took about 45 minutes of wrangling between him and booking.com, ultimately limiting our options for dinner before our play. The tub didn't drain well, so showers felt like baths. It would have been nice to have queen beds rather than double, table and chairs instead of a couch, a refrigerator in the room, ice maker in the hall.
We had a super lunch on arrival at the Italian restaurant. The staff were very helpful and helped us arrange a wine tour. The location is terrific.
The room was clean but it would be nice to have tea & coffee tray in the room. Also there was no safe provided. We really wanted to treat ourselves and were a bit disappointed at the overall standard having paid Cad$230 per night.
Catered to our needs Excellent breakfast Dinner outstanding Friendly front desk
The staff was helpful and courteous. The restaurant was excellent. On site free parking was a plus. Our room and bathroom were large, nicely decorated, and very clean.
Although it is only two floors, there was no elevator. Staff did offer to carry luggage if needed.
Friendly staff, clean, bed was comfortable, spacious room, separate entrance was nice. A good stay, overall.
Couches were uncomfortable. décor was very outdated, bedside lamps too far from the bed - had to get out of bed to turn them on/off
Waiter should be more informed about food there serving.Try not to forget too much when asked to do something. When they say they will get back with an answer it should be timely.
Right there on the main street downtown to all the playhouses.
No elevators too many stairs to climb up. Bad access to parking in the back. Cant get comp. breakfast before 8am. Same breakfast everyday no choice. No pool. Your window looks out into the trash dumpsters which they fill up at 10pm at night makes too much noise. Big room small tv. Dont need a budee or two wash sinks in the bathroom. No bathmats in shower, could slip and easily break your neck on tile. No refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, telephone. Service is horrible nobody around half the time. Too expensive for a hotel you can almost break your neck climbing at least 30 steps to get to the second floor with your luggage.
I liked the staff, the location, and the food. The restaurant was facing the front garden and was very pretty.
Accidentally got locked out early in the morning at 6:30 am, and could not get back in until staff showed up which was about 10 minutes or so later.
good location....quiet stay.
could have been a bit cleaner. Was not impressed with the free breakfast.
location, parking, breakfast, staff. Didn't eat in the restaurant (except breakfast) but it looked nice.
the room was large and clean but had no ambience and was in serious need of redecorating - everything - furniture, art work, window covering, lighting, painting, etc. bathroom updated and adequate.
Location Beautiful breakfast Excellent dinner Comfortable bed
Location & very pleasant staff
Ordinary / plain bedroom
Quiet, clean, location, very nice staff, good restaurant, nice if limited breakfast (yogurt, crossant, american cheese and two ham slices)
For the price the towels were too thin, had to ask for extra soap, no info on Shaw and N on Lake in room, only lobby, no elevator
Qualidade da comida servida no restaurante.
