We have stayed several times before and found the room clean, staff friendly, location handy and good value.
Our most recent visit was disappointing because the toilet was dirty. Also the sheets were either dirty or stained with blood :(
We travel around the province for sport and always attempt to stay in the local residence. It's exactly what we need, clean, quiet and always close to what we need.
Conveniant. Good price for quick stopover.
Unfortunate we overlooked outdoor rink. Midnight players til wee hours.
Best value for money. Will always stay there. The fact that you get a 2 bedroom suite at a price cheaper than most hotels charge for a room. Breakfast is included which is a plus. Do not expect a lavish one but will get your day started.
No wi-fi in rooms.... only wired internet.
Toilet was not clean, and There were people making noise at night
The units were spacious, including full size fridge. Large closet space and desk area. The suites were close to the hospital and plenty of parking. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and always available. They did not rush us out at checkout time which was appreciated. Of coarse the low cost was a benefit.
The units were terribly dirty, with old rugs and beds. Beds were small and mattress was very uncomfortable. The t.v. didn't work and not a single piece of cutlery or cups. I wasn't impressed with the continental breakfast because the table where the food was small and the toasters wouldn't work and that was the only source of heating appliance. I know these were just dorms but even for that they were substandard and I could of stayed at a lovely hotel for a few dollars more.
Price for a 2 bedroom suite.
1) Upon arriving on campus, the sign which lists all the buildings on campus does not list the student residence. I guess that's not surprising, since students are the lowest priority for college administrators. This should be changed. Since it was 10 pm, there wasn't a living soul anywhere around to ask directions. 2) Luckily one of our group had a cellphone, so she called the residence, and got directions. They included "the building with 'Georgian' written on it, and it has a blue roof." Do you know how many buildings on campus say "Georgian"?! Further, at night, all the roofs are black. 3) When we finally got registered, the pass card we received didn't work. As they say, first impressions count for a lot. Well, our first impression was a complete fail.
I really enjoyed getting to sleep in a separate room from my older child.
There was a small group of tipsy college guys hanging around the entrance, but luckily they soon left.
We were two couples and a baby. Being togther with separate bedrooms was ideal. I put my son to bed and we could still hang out in the kitchen area. Plus the price was great.
The room we were first assigned to had not been cleaned. A quick call to front desk had us moved to a cleaned room. However, I don't understand why they can't have that sorted out before they assign rooms.
2 rooms in one and full kitchen was awesome!
Very small and tiny tvs
The value was great. We got a 2-bedroom suite +kitchenette for $80 tx incl. We only needed a place to sleep for the night, and this was great.
Because it's at a college/uni location, it's filled with (loud) uni students.
Location was great. Very reasonable rate, staff where friendly and rooms very comfortable.
We were freezing in the room because we could not stop the air conditionning.
Price, location, suite style, friendliness, helpful staff, free parking
Hair on the floor, old notepad on the table, dingy looking linens, wired internet only, no instructions on phone use or tv, parking was hard to find
Close to my venue to where I was going. That is the only positive thing I can say.
The rooms are not in the best shape, needs doors to be fixed, walls to be painted and the room was not cleaned to appropriate standards that you would remotely find at a hotel. I was placed in an area with young adults that were there to party and didn't get much sleep that night. The carpets need to be replaced. I will never stay here again
We came up to Barrie to move our daughter out of residence at the end of the summer semester. The location was convenient, rooms were clean, staff was pleasant and breakfast was included!
Close to my final destination
Very hard to locate. Dont get stuck in the wrong parking lot and pay the fees
This a student dorm, it's ugly, the beds are uncomfortable, the 'satellite tv' doesn't work properly - the screen flickers and the audio cuts out. These are extremely spartan accommodations
I was traveling with a group of 16 people. Ages ranged from 14 to 64. When we went to check in, they wanted the drivers license for every person who was staying in the rooms. I find this time consuming and absolutely not necessary. I have never experienced this at another hotel. Absolutely ridiculous.
Pillow was extra nice. Breakfast was good.
Bed was very firm. Distance to elevator was far too long. Parking lot was also too far away.
The separate bedrooms give a bit more privacy than a hotel room. It is a great price for 4 people, even though there were just two of us. The continental breakfast makes it an even better value.
Cleanliness of tile floors and bathrooms would not meet a three or four star hotel's standards, but I didn't pay for a four star hotel:)
We weren't aware we were staying in student dorms. It was fine: clean, quiet and comfortable, but not what we expected.
I found the price affordable and the staff friendly and accommodating.
The beds were hard and the air was not adjustable in our room. Also, there were spilled blueberries in the hallway on our floor the whole visit.
