Did not stay long enough to visit or appreciate the city and its surroundings. Did not visit any attractions. I was in Shawinigan just for sleeping accommodation. My activity was in 3-Rivers but could not find any accommodation closer than Shawinigan (40 min away). Road system to get to Shawinigan is very good and fast.

The City of Energy (Cite d'Energie) is fascinating, especially for the science-inclined. I highly recommend it.
Also the St Hubert on Rue Trudel (Rt 351) is a quality, full-service restaurant, not the more typical fast-food establishment. Menu is simular to Swiss Chalet (which owns St H), with some Quebec-specific items (see photo).
Easy access from main road but property is very quiet. Large parking lot. A few hundred feet away is a beautiful deck with a superb sunset view of the river. The hotel in general is very clean. No elevators but top floor is only one flight up. King room is very spacious, bed is comfy. Room seems to of been refurbished a few years ago. I would say choices are either a room view of trees or a parking lot. I would stay again for an overnighted. Breakfast looked fine but did not stay for it.
Room was very spacious and beautifully appointed, it was wonderful to spread out a bit after so many hotel rooms. And my legs appreciated spending time in the spa tub after a day of hiking in beautiful Mauricie National Park!! Alain is a great host, he's hilarious and a great cook, too. Plenty of excellent restaurants in Shawinigan for the evenings. Really a lovely spot to stay for a couple of days!
Service was very nice. Host was very accommodating. Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Pool was very attractive and clean. Did not take time to use hot tub but it also looked clean and attractive. Overall the hotel gave far better service and value than expected and far superior to our previous stay at a comfort Inn even though the rate here was far. Lower in price.
Chez Baza is the perfect place to stay if you want to visit Parc de la Mauricie (or Shawinigan). Alain is the most amazing host, welcoming and attentive to his guest. The house is beautiful and peaceful, with a swimming pool and a jacuzzi where you can relax after a day of hiking in the Park. The room is huge and comfortable .. And the breakfast delightful! Strongly recommended!
The location is great.
One staff member wasn’t very friendly. We could not get Wi-Fi as we were in a room at the very back of the hotel and the signal wasn’t strong enough. We were told nothing she could do about it. She wouldn’t even change our room ??
I went back to the front desk and the other person on the front desk was very accommodating and helpful.
The location was at a nice junction between South Shawinigan and Shawinigan proper, including walkable distances to nice panoramic scenery; even faster by car since it's near the highway. Though we were late for breakfast, the kitchen staff was courteous and generous by inviting us pack toast, yogurt and fruit for the road!
The best place we stayed during our trip in Quebec. The chalet was amazing, the view spectacular and the location couldn't be better. We stayed for two nights, it was very comfortable and clean considering is a chalet so in the middle of nature. The host was very friendly and he made us feel very comfortable
A beautiful riverside location. The lodge we stayed in was tastefully decorated and maintained to a high standard with modern shower and comfortable bed/sitting room. The owners have created a space that is greatly superior to many of the soulless hotels we stayed in on out 3 week trip across Canada!
Great value for the price! Comfortable rooms, spacious bathroom, great (friendly, professional, efficient) staff and customer service! Free breakfast available with limited but interesting choices. Very close to downtown (Grand-Mère & Shawinigan) and to Parc national de la Mauricie.
The room is in the downtown district of Shawinigan, close to many restaurants. The room is quite small, perfect for one night (no closet or drawer space available) The breakfast was great and they accommodated my husband who does not eat eggs by adding a second type of meat.
Lovely location! Staff were really great and the room and beds comfy. The little lookout right beside the hotel was a bonus as was the proximity to great walking and biking trails. Just a note that the 'whirlpool' tub is a 'bubble tub'. In other words, there aren't jets.
The location is the best attribute of the hotel. Facing the riverfront with an easy walk to shopping and dining. The riverfront has been (finally) re-designed and beautified and walks along it are rewarding.
Older facility but charmingly refreshed room. Young woman at front desk was polite, helpful and kind. Sorry I did not have time to enjoy the beautiful town of Shawinigan.
