Just a 5-minute drive north of the village of Notre-Dame-du-Portage, this bed and breakfast sits along the shores of the St. Laurence River. It serves a gourmet breakfast every morning.
Score from 33 reviews Wonderful
Sylvie and Raymond were absolutely wonderful hosts. Not only was breakfast and company delightful, but the room was fantastic and true to the pictures online. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and thoughtful. They even emailed us in advance about our anniversary with the intention of baking us something special. We'd highly recommend this B&B and hope we can get back again someday soon!
The surrounding area didn't have much to do, but if you are passing through and need a place to stay, this is a must!
The staff was very kind and helpful
It is not prepared for families. I booked a room for 4 and it had only place for 2. This was not however communicated to me by Booking.
This was a great little spot for a good night's sleep on the way to whale watching or to the Saguenay/Lac St Jean. Our host Raymond was such a sweetheart, we felt really welcomed right upon arrival and we really adored the delicious crepes and homemade jams that we got to eat in the dining room in the morning. Raymond was also very helpful in making suggestions for day trips from St Siméon. There was the obvious Tadoussac, but he also told us about Anse St Jean, Louise's Pastry shop, Baie Ste Marguerite and other great places that we would never have thought to check out! We'd absolutely stay again! :)
St Siméon does not boast great restaurants. We'd recommend getting groceries and eating in as opposed to going out for a nighttime meal. Or eat in Baie St Paul and arrive at Raymond's after dinner. No issues with Gite Tournesol though!
Host very friendly and proud to show off his collection of model ships. Large, comfortable room. Good breakfast. Very convenient stopping-off place.
Some way to nearest restaurant for dinner (and meal was not that good).
owner's hospitality and good breakfast
Host was welcoming, knowledgeable and very helpful. Also flexible re: time of arrival. The room was very spacious and well furnished. (We were the only guests at the time, so could not assess the sound-proofing) Despite being on the side of the main road, we slept soundly. The common area is exceptional : a cosy and spacious living-room with a fireplace! Breakfast is simple yet abundant. We loved not to be loaded with calories. Very good value for your money!!!
The front doesn't look like much compared to other places (but inside, this is one of the best places we stayed at!) Could be a bit noisy when road traffic is heavier...
