We blaze through Rivière-du-Loup regularly on the way from Ontario to northern New Brunswick--it's not worth breaking the journey. This time we were going to southern NB so it made sense to stop. I'm not sure there's anything really in the RDL area that would make me spend a couple of days there, but if you need to break a journey, there are worse places to do it.

Absolutely stunning area. Parc des Chutes was amazing.
Absolutely stunning area. Parc des Chutes was amazing. Wish we had more time to explore. Had an excellent dinner within walking distance of the falls. Highly recommend L'Estaminet for a meal. Even though my french is limited, everyone was very accommodating.

The auberge was clean and staff were welcoming and friendly. Room with 1 bed and bunk beds had a small washroom with toilet, sink and shower. Breakfast provided a good assortment of food. Location was great...within walking distance of the lovely main street and restaurants. The auberge exceeded my expectations! Great value for price.

We loved our stay, especially the Nordic spa and proximity to excellent restaurants. Having dinner at L'Innocent was perfect after a long day of driving.
The sporadic rattling of our A/C unit throughout the night is one thing that could be improved otherwise everything was perfect.

The location was excellent, the quietness was great.
The location was excellent, the quietness was great. It was older and felt unclean. The washroom and shower was a way too tiny, the bed was small and lacked a head board, the carpet like most carpets was old and felt unclean.

Disappointing. The reason was mainly due to the timing. It was the morning of the Labour Day Monday and lots of guests were departing early. The breakfast room was too small, crowded and a frustrating long wait.
The room was clean and of a good size. I left a jacket in my room and the receptionist was helpful in arranging to return it. It remains to be seen if the hotel follows through.
We went on 2 different occasions on our road trip, at first on our way down and on our way back, room #34 was pretty nice, we could see that it has been renovated in the last few years, there was à back patio door with a great vue. Room 34 was a fair size.
The downtown of Rivière-du-Loup is very nice, you don't have a view on the sea, but it's very charming.
The check-in/check-out process was superior to anything experienced before. It was a beautiful hotel and the room was exceptional. We were able to park in front of our room so unpacking was easy. Restaurant and bar were located in the hotel so no need to leave hotel after a long drive.
Great location, room was nice and spacious and very clean. We had a great meal at the hotel restaurant Le Mirador with a breathtaking view over the St Laurent. We also found Riviere du Loup to be a very cute little town. It was a nice stop on our way to Gaspe.
The room was comfortable and clean. We were looking for a convenient, low-cost hotel, and this was a good deal that met our minimum requirements. Parking spot directly outside the room. Convenient location on our travel route.
Rather than a typical hotel room for a one night stay while travelling through the region, Auberge Mr. James is a beautiful old home with uniquely renovated rooms. There is a delightful, restful atmosphere.
Even though the facilities were dated, they were very clean.
Having the hotel reception located in a St Hubert part of the restaurant, isn't a good idea.
The welcome we got on arrival was not very good.
Spacious room, extremely comfortable bed, very fast WIFI, good restaurant on site, good service, free parking. All at a reasonable price. We were very satisfied with this hotel
The hotel is older but clean and pleasant. The staff are very nice, and speaking English is not a problem. We were also directed to an outstanding poutine place for supper.
The breakfast was excellent. The bathroom was very nice.We had a very hard time trying to find the hotel and just as hard a time trying to get back to the Hwy.85 to NB.
Excellent location overlooking the St. Lawrence. Very comfortable beds and pillows. We liked the smaller intimate buildings vs the larger multi storey hotels.
